Part 24 — Advancement

"Reporting to HQ. This is Zap."

"Zap. This is Hannah. What is it?"

"I've found the artifact. It wasn't buried after all."

"Really? Where did you find it?"

"In my apartment."

"What?! Where was it?"

"My roomate's pillow."

"Odd..." Hannah was unaware of how strongly Zap's roomate was related to the case. "Bring it in to HQ quickly, will you? I think we may be able to find some interesting things."

"On it." Zap began to run for HQ. When he reached the top, he greeted Hannah. "Here's the artifact."

"Wonderful. Just hold on to it for a bit, will you? I need to set up some things..."

Zap waited as Hannah turned on the computer, turned on lights, and did all other sorts of things. When she finished, she held out her hand, and Zap placed the artifact in it. Carefully, Hannah inserted the artifact into a hole. The hole closed and the artifact was being scanned. A few minutes later, they heard a beep. "There we go." Hannah took out the artifact and handed it back to Zap. "This is all it'll give us for now. When we have time, we can research it further."

"Why are you giving it back to me?"

"It was originally yours, was it not?"

"You're not keeping it?"

"No. I'm kind of clumsy when I'm not at work. Best you keep it."

"O...kay. See you, Hannah."

"Yep! Until then!" Zap walked out of the HQ, clutching the artifact tightly in his hands.
