Part 28 — My Stuff

Xin watched as Zap collapsed on the ground. She saw her knife slip out of his pocket, along with a strange object. "There's my knife." She crouched down and picked it up. She saw slight marks of blood on it. She walked over to the kitchen and washed it off. Azyra helped Zap get up. Zap noticed the artifact on the ground and picked it up. Xin walked over to him. "Let me see that." She grabbed the artifact from his pocket. "This was under my pillow. How'd you find it?"

"Don't worry about it."

"Ugh. Anyway, why did you take all of my stuff anyway?"

"It was necessary."

"My knife?"

"Do I want to die? Plus, it's a weapon that was very useful in a situation I just found myself in."

"This?" Xin held up the artifact.

"It was part of the investigaion."

"Yeah, yeah, investigation and shit, whatever. This was and is still my stuff."

"Alright." Zap took off his jacket. "I'm going to sleep." He looked up at the analog clock. 10:30, it read.

"Yeah, go to sleep. Sweet dreams." Xin watched Zap walked up the stairs. She clutched her knife. She turned to Azyra. "Now that I have my knife, I can go and do that..." Xin grabbed her own jacket and walked outside. Azyra walked upstairs and into her room. This was an odd day... She yawned and went to sleep.
