Part 14 — Hide and Seek

Zap walked back until the apartment complex was out of sight, and then he found a crowded place to wait around. He got his phone out of his pocket. "I told her the cameras would serve useful..." He opened his security app and looked at the live video for "Front Door." He closely watched the video for 15 minutes before just noticing the thin line of text that said, Number of watchers: 2. Quickly, he clicked on the text and saw a list brought up, with the items being him and Xin. Quickly, he removed Xin's permissions from viewing all the cameras. "Well shit. I have cameras around the house, and now I'll never know whether she used them..." He returned to watching the video. He noticed that Grace had left. He rewinded a minute back just to make sure. It was confirmed that Grace had lost interest and left. "Eh... I can't worry about the cameras right now... I can finally be home again." He ran for his apartment. Passing Patience, he heard Grace. She had yelled, "Are you kidding me?! Where is he?!" He ran faster, making sure to increase distance between him and Patience.

Back home, he quickly unlocked his door. Inside the apartment, he slammed the door shut and locked it, shaking it 10 times to be sure.
