ALTERNATE Part 5 — Arson

Unable to process rational thoughts from Xin's sudden hanging up, he sat in his room and did nothing.

Eventually, he was brought back to reality by the smell of smoke. He ran downstairs and saw everything on fire. Quickly, he unlocked and slammed open his door, pulling the fire alarm as he ran out.

After 10 minutes, the fire department had come, but by then, the entire apartment complex was on fire. Everyone was safe, and everything was put out, but the amount of damage the fire caused was unrepairable. Slowly, Zap started walking back from the scene. Fuck this. Fuck all of this. Fuck you, Xin. Fuck me. Fuck everyone. I'm so fucking done, Zap told himself, thinking all of this at once. The pressure from all the heavy thoughts made him stop moving. He wasn't able to do anything until he sorted out all his thoughts.

After finally calming down, he heard the sound of an ambulance. Apparently, someone had not been found, and when they crawled out of the wreckage, they collapsed. He didn't want anything to do with it. He didn't want to be part of anything. Zap ran. He ran for nothing. He ran towards nowhere, and he had no motive, except to get as far away from the apartment complex as possible.
