In was in Daily Doughnuts on a particular cloudless day that the child's long suffering sigh was heard." Father Damien, don't you think you've given me too many books already?"

It was of rare luck that Damien had ran into Darwin while they were buying doughnuts and they decided(Damien decided)that they would have tea and catch up.

Of course. He had given Darwin the books in hopes he would develop a disliking to holy scriptures. He faked a gasp just as two more people walked in ringing the bell."Darwin, son. There's no such thing!" And because he felt awfully humorous that day, he added."How else will you fight the devil's ways? This town...I fear." He cut off dramatically and faked a cough.

He could feel Toby rolling his eyes, wait. Toby had rolled his eyes! How could-

"But I am already strong without the books, I have strong will! And I have Silas!" He smiled a brilliant bright smile. All white teeth and cheeky grin but Damien could see how tired his eyes were. How tired he was becoming.

The dread started to build.

"Shouldn't you been doing this in a church?" One of people who walked in, a woman, said sarcastically.

Damien would have wanted to say if they had done it in a church maybe she wouldn't have eavesdropped so easily. But his focus was Darwin. Others didn't matter a inch. "Darwin, dear, have you been sleeping well?"

Before he could answer, a young man Damien had spotted once or twice but never paid any mind, greeted Darwin and completely ignored him." Hey, been awhile." He said, nodding his head in Darwin's direction.

"One day Silas won't be enough."Damien muttered, but Darwin seem to hear him.

"Silas is always enough, Father Damien. He's the strongest person I know! Perhaps even stronger than you!" Darwin said with conviction. Then turned his attention to the man."Hey Vlad!" He grinned excitedly.

"I have no doubt in that my child." Damien replied because it would be of no use to disagree. He eyed the man who seemed to know Darwin,"And you are?" He asked, his tone turning frosty.

"Damien! What do you think you're doing?"

That voice- it can't be-

"Daughter! How are you?" Damien didn't have to fake his cheerfulness. Latte was perhaps the only one besides Darwin he considered worthy of saving and protecting.

Latherna didn't notice anyone but Darwin as she rushed to his said."Darry! Are you alright ?" Suddenly her mood seem drip and her eyes narrowed."Damien, I fudging swear!"

At this Damien gave Latte a parented look."No swearing, dearest."

Latherna scoffed ."Yeah right." She said and Damien became a bit frustrated, couldn't she see he tried? He loved her and he tried?

"Trying isn't enough," Toby voice was clear."You have actually do something too."

The young man made another comment and Damien turned to him again, he smiled coldy,"I'd like to know your name, sir." He felt an itch at the side of his neck.

The young man looked over Damien and said in an ice tone."You won't need it."

Darwin, seeing this, tried to explain."He is..." everyone turned their attention to him at once. He shifted away, trying to seem smaller and desperately looked over at the young woman's table.

She was rolling her eyes as she began to eat her doughnut. Clearly someone was still eavesdropping.

But Damien was focused on the young man."Even the lost have names." He said, trying to appear friendly.

"Alright, enough people." Latte yelled."Everyone. leave Darwin alone!" She gave a kindly look to Darwin who looked even more embarrassed but grateful.

"Hey, I just came here to rescue him from the Priest." The man held up hands in surrender. Damien felt the urge again, the urge to kill.

"He wasn't in need of recusing." Damien said to the man in a deadly tone. He began to rub at spot on his neck.

The man snorted."Yeah, didn't look that way."

He tried to ignore the urge.

It was getting stronger.

Darwin though, sensing the tension, gave Latt a bright smlie."Thank you!" Darwin said to Latte,"Let's all focus on our coffee and donuts now, shall we?" He gave a kindly look at everyone at the table.

Damien knew, right then, at that moment, who could open his father's mysteriously sealed box. He would have to find a way to give Darwin it later.

"Latte, dearest. Go buy yourself a doughnut. You looked stressed." She did, she had been working for longer lately. Damien knew how her sugar levels might drop and a doughnut seemed like a perfect choice given where they were.

"I don't eat doughnuts."She said quickly to him. She seemed to be more upset with him than usual.

He felt his world drip in another direction. Since when!?

The woman was watching their conversation closely while tipping back and forth in her chair. Damien sighed, she was going to fall, he just knew it.

"Did I?" Latte gave a challenging glance at him."I guess I grew up." She stated. And she had, but that didn't mean she could just forget about her childhood so easily.

"We used to be close." He found himself saying, normally he wouldn't dare speak openly like this. But with Latte he had to take every chance he got to fix things with her.

"You sent me to university." She replied as though he had sent her to prison. The girl could be so ungrateful, didn't she know education was the key to success? He had even paid for everything, for heaven's sake, she got a PhD.

"I think I'm gonna sit over here." The nameless man sat with his back to Darwin.

Damien gave him a glare.

"Growing up doesn't mean leaving the people you care about behind." Damien said, it was true. She could have called or visited at anytime.

She choose not to.

A laugh came from the man and Damien glare intensified.

"You sent me away from all my friends, you sent me away from Carsden!" Latte cried in outrage. For that was a fate worse than death to her. To be without the people she had come to care about so deeply.

Darwin glanced over at the other table and saw the woman,"Hey Eve!" He waved at her, Damien thought he probably felt bad for her sitting alone.

She smiled back at him.

"I did it for your own good!" Damien found himself shouting, people nearby peered curiously at the priest but in that moment he didn't care."This town isn't safe, you shouldn't have come back!"

"Now that's the one thing you said that makes sense." Commented the nameless dude.

"Well I came back." Said Latte without hesitation and with a note of finality."I came back for Darwin and for Silas." Latte continued, her voice getting stronger."I came back." She repeated with force, as if willing him to accept it."I couldn't leave them behind."

This was getting of hand, this was getting...emotional.

"Indeed, I am proud of your foolishness. But I wish you'd moved when you had the chance." Damien always planned to send the one good thing Carsden had away before it got eaten up by the town's evil."Now you're stuck here, with us and our doom." He didn't plan on it coming back and resenting him.

"It was no foolishness on my part, Damien." Latte voice turned to ice," it was kindness and compassion." She stated than muttered to herself in a soft tone,"A doom brought upon us by the witches of old, I can still mend this all."

Because he could say nothing else in the moment, Damien took a bite of his doughnut and sighed. She had too big of dreams. She could never fix this on her own."Kindness?" He couldn't help a laugh.

Darwin, seemingly bored, jumped on a empty table next to them and yelled,"Order, everyone." Playfully but no one surprised because that was the sort of thing he did often.

The man sighed and then stood up."Damien right?" He didn't wait for answer and continued,"Why not respect her choices, even if that they seem foolish?"

Damien didn't reply. It was not business of this nameless man to judge. And,if he had to admit, he was still abit bitter over the name thing.

"Kindness, of course, you showed that once." Latte mumbled, she seemed to lost in her memories.

"Darwin, get off that table. You might fall!" Damien scolded ignoring the man. He then turned his attention back to Latte,"Did I now?" The only true kindness he showed was to her and Darwin."I can't remember." He lied and took a sip of coffee.

"Darwin, come here hun, what do you want? I'll pay for it." Latte said distractedly before turning back to him."Why can't you?" She asked with sadness."It was kindness you showed when you went to the trouble of raising me."

Damien was about to reply when they all heard a loud crush and immediately turned to see Eve on her back on the floor.

"Knew it." Said Toby

He had taken over five pills so far that day. Why weren't they working?

"Are you alright Miss?"Damien faked concern and help her up slowly. Soon the young man was at her side too, asking if she was okay too.

"Oh damn." He heard Latte swear before she too was at Eve's side along with Darwin who looked even more concerned as he helped her into another chair.

"Yes, fine." Eve mumbled, her face a brilliant shade of bright red as she stared at the floor. Obviously she wasn't used to being the center of attention.

Damien handed her a water as Latte slipped into her nurse mode. He knew she was gonna use magic, he just wished she wouldn't do it so publicly. She needed to learn to relay on others means besides her witchcraft.

"I'll heal her." Latte muttered and Damien saw the young man eyed Latte with renewed interest. Darwin looked excited to be seeing any form of magic.

"Go ahead." Damien said as he watched from the sidelines.

"Eve, where does it hurt?" She asked the quiet girl. Eve looked completely overwhelmed by their attention and mumbled a "Uh." And looked uncertainly at everyone.

Darwin was beaming, looking happy at Eve finally getting some attention.

"Pretty sure it's her head." The nameless one muttered.

"Alright then."Latte said and got to work. Thankfully since the shop was nearly empty now and they were in a corner, Damien doubled anyone even saw them.

"A town helps its people." Bullshit at it's finest, really he should been an actor."Don't be overwhelmed by our attention." He added a fake smile and Eve eased up abit and smiled back.

Nameless-oh who was he kidding? Damien knew his name was Vladimir- gave him a glance of dismay."You have a creepy smile old man."

But Damien was too busy staring at Latte to reply. She focused and careful, and looked almost unforgiving as she used her an inch of her power. After it was done, Latte tried to reassure Eve."I studied medicine, don't worry." Ha, like that was medicine she just used, Damien thought.

Damien nodded with pride." Latte is the best healer in town."

"Thank you..uh.." Eve trailed off," I'm sorry, I don't know your name."

"Mine ?" Latte blinked and then asked,"Or his?"

Damien immediately began to introduce himself, having had that question asked alot." I am Father Demien, I run the church nearby."

"I am Latherna Demetria at your service, Miss." Latte introduced herself with a smile.

Eve waved awkwardly."Hello. Nice to meet you guys." She smiled briefly, Damien got the feeling she didn't do it enough." I'm Genevieve, but you can call me Ev-" she cut off, her eyes following Vlad as he retreated.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw Darwin stuffing his two uneaten doughnuts in his pockets in a hurry before handing one of them to Eve."Hey, here you are."He said as he waved at everyone before rushing out the shop. Damien checked his watch and realized Darwin was late for school."I'll see you all later! Vlad are you coming too? School is about to start."

Damien blinked. Vald definitely didn't look like he was still going to school but who was he to judge?

Vlad shrugged and followed him at a more casual pace."Probably, if I don't want my parents to ship me off once more."

Eve had taken the the doughnut and stared as they walked out. She seemed to a take a special liking to Vlad. She began to stare back down at the doughnut in her hand.

Damien couldn't help but grin. He liked Vlad too, he will be useful, he thought as the plans seem to make themselves in his head.

Unknown to him, Latte eyed him warily. She knew his thoughts all too well not to be weary." Keep it to yourself, Damien."She whispered.

Damien sat back down at his original table. He had no where to be in a hurry that day. Perhaps he go to Carsden Park after this.

Suddenly Eve stood to her feet as she hurriedly hit her things together after checking her watch."I--I'm late to class," she stuttered."Thank you."She nodded at Latte who merely chuckled and told her not to worry and she'd be fine.

Damien peered through the window he was sitting by. Darwin looked weary as he picked up his bicycle, he wondered if that moron of teacher was giving him trouble again.

Vlad walked back and took a seat on at table nearby as Damien waved at a rushing out Eve.

"Bye Darry!" Latte said through the glass and waved but Darwin seem to hear her and waved back."Tell Dresden I said hi." Darwin said a muffled " I will!" But Latte wasn't done."and in addition, tell him I love him!"

"Goodbye Darwin, keep well, study hard." Damien said, also waving as Darwin waved back at them.

"Bye Darwin." Vlad added.

Afterward watching him ride off, Latte got a wistful look on her face."Kids, they grow up so fast." She said with a smile.

Damien glanced over at her fondly."Yes, they do."

Vlad started to play and roll a black marble between his thumb and index finger. He was picture of cool and Damien resisted a sigh.

"Well, hopefully when I get children, they don't grow up so fast." She had a dreamy gaze and Damien felt a pool of dread build in the pit of his stomach.

"Children? You are far too young." Damien stated like it was a fact. To him she would always be too young.

She didn't seem to hear him and still had a dreamy smile in her face. She was obviously planning out every detail of her child's life."So, Damien. Are you going to be the priest at my wedding?"

A moment passed.

The words still rung in his head. They spin and dance and mocked him.
Something clicked. A snap was heard in his brain.

What?

It was unfortunate that she said this the moment he took a slip of his burning hot coffee.

"I'm twenty seven." She replied to his earlier statement with a sigh.

"I'm sure you'll be a great mom, Latherna." Vald said sincerely.

Damien was too busy choking and coughing up coffee to notice Latte's reply."W--Wedding?" He stumbled out the word, stunned.

"Wedding." Latte repeated dreamily.

"C-c-Children?" Damien was still choking but it wasn't on coffee anymore. He suddenly became very pale. If there was one weakness to him, it was Darwin and Latte.

"Two sons and a daughter." Latte said earnestly, she had dazed look in her eyes.

"I'm actually expecting."

.
.
.

Damien's brain worked very hard to keep sane enough to do normal things. But it seem to shut down then. He was sure if anyone was sitting close enough in that moment, they would smell smoke as it caught fire.

"I'm actually expecting." "I'm actually expecting." "I'm actually expecting." "I'm actually expecting." "I'm actually expecting." "I'm actually expecting." "I'm actually expecting." "I'm actually expecting."

" Tobias, congratulations. your a grandfather." Vlad said.

Then suddenly he shouted, a dumb and rather simple response." EXPECTING WHAT? A LETTER?"

Latte blinked and opened her mouth to correct him but Damien wasn't done.

"Latte, I haven't even met him!" Referring to whoever the heck she was seeing at the moment.

Latherna looked genuinely shocked."Seriously?" She asked in disbelief. "A child." She added in correction.

Damien was suddenly very quiet and still. In his head he was repeating five different prayers he learned to use in times of extraordinary stress and dire situations.

Toby began to play Justin Bieber Song baby on repeat.

After a moment he said with a surprisingly normal voice."I see." For it was the only two words he could get out.

Then a idea popped into his head as if it were a heated piece of corn."Have that little bic- Have your boyfriend meet me soon."Damien put on his best pretend smile."We much to discuss."

Latte didn't seem to notice anything wrong and looked rather happy that Damien was being so calm about this."Sure thing." She took a sip of tea,"I seriously thought you guys have meet before."

"Actually-"

He cut her off, he wasn't listening to a word that left her lips after 'Sure' he was too busy wondering if Joseph would mind another murder so soon."Mr Veins, was it?" He recalled hearing that name from Darwin, his dreaded teacher. He now remember Dresden Veins, the stupid bad boy wannabe would had been after Latte for years. It taken everything he had to keep them apart but, apparently, somewhere along the way. He slipped up.

"He's Darwin's Teacher, Correct?" Meaningless question but his mind was on other matters, which was better? Quick death or long and drawn out torture?

"Yes." Latte replied suspiciously."Dresden Veins." She gazed closely at Damien's face, seemingly reading his mind."If you kill him, I will burn your church."

"That doesn't matter, " Toby said."She could burn all the churches she wanted, she mattered more than all of them."

"Two birds with one stone."Damien muttered, he would be killing Darwin's torturer and ending the swine who thought he could get away from defiling his daughter.

Latte, though, heard him."I dare you!" She yelled and slammed her hand down on their table. Outside, thick grey clouds began to meet. The people of Carsden wondered what of earth had ruined their beautiful sunny day. Something that they so rarely got nowadays.

"Dear, Dear, Dear." Damien turned to face her with a fake smile." Fear not." It was true, she had nothing to worry about. Dresden was the one who going to die.

"I will burn the church if you even try to hurt him!" She repeated in a deadly tone."Along with all your Satanic books!" She began listing all the things she thought he cared about that she would burn if Dresden came to harm." And your wife's grave!" She finally finished.

"Do you really think I care that much about the church? I only care for you" Damien said truthfully. Then he heard what she said last."My dear, I was never married." He gasped, he would never do that Maryse. But maybe that's who Latte was referring to.

"Okay, remember you are in public and people are starring."Vlad tried to defuse the situation but they paid him no mind.

"If you make my son an orphan, I swear to the heaven's above!" Latte threatened but Damien only heard one word.

"SON!?" He exclaimed, exactly how far along was this girl? How long had he not known?

Behind them Vlad was whistling loudly trying to get them to stop. It was like he was in another universe, because they didn't even notice him anymore.

"I'm expecting, Damien." Latte cried in frustration." I thought we went over this!"

Damien got a sick feeling in his chest. A great wave of darkness seem to wash over him." I shall burn Dresden alive and leave the crows to eat him." Not a threat at that second, but a promise.

"I dare you!"Latte shouted again, outside a man was walking his dog peacefully before being hit by a sudden flash of lightning.

"How can you be so far along you know it's a boy!" Damien threw back. All lessons in magic seem meaningless when you learned your only daughter got knocked up unwed.

"Magic Brah." She said in a duh way."You forgot my power."

"Magic!" Damien made a face, sure he and Sister Gwyneth taught her that but it wasn't fine she used it for such little things."You still use such childish a thing?" Her magic came from her bloodline but it would be uselessly if she had never learned to use it. Damien wondered if he made a mistake by teaching her.

"It's not just a thing!"Latte narrowed her eyes. Her voice rose, "You taught me that!" Several people turned to glance at her.

Meanwhile Vlad had stopped trying to get their attention and was now getting a gun out in hopes it'll shut them up.

"Magic is for the weak, prayers are better."

Latte didn't even turn to look at Vlad. And knock him unconscious with a flick of her wrist. "Prayers?" She repeated Damien's words.

Damien sighed. Someone, Probably Fletcher who had been watching them closely. Saw her use magic."Remember, we are public dear."He tried to warn her.

"Ha!" She mocked and sat back down."You don't even pray that much!" She exclaimed in amusement to hide her fuming.

Damien couldn't help it. He beyond annoyed at this point."Latte, they are people here." He said to her one final time.

Vlad wakes up looking drunken. "I think I'll take my leave."He mumbled," Try not to burn the place down before you leave." Vlad said but got no answer.

Latte took a breath."Okay, you can kill everyone. But not the following people."

Damien shook his head."I shall not discuss this nonsense now."

But as usual she wasn't listening to him."Silas, Darwin, Amarys, Finn and Dresden. Everyone else?" Latte shrugged."Eh, you can nuke them."

"Only them?" Surprised by her lack empathy to the rest of the town. Well now was as good as time as any to tell her."Eve gonna die you know." He said casually."Sister Gwyneth had a vision."

Latte seemed confused as to why he was telling her this."Oh, I see." She said,"What was this vision?"Curiosity entered her voice.

"Indeed, she saw Maggie too."Damien recounted Sister Gwyneth pale face in his mind."She can't recall anything but names and shapes." Damien made a cross."I told her to pray about it."

"Maggie." Latte mumbled, she calmed down. Obviously she cared very deeply for the missing girl."And what happened?"

"I don't know much, she hasn't been talkative lately." Damien let a bit of worry enter his tone. He really should have been an actor.

"Huh, strange. Should I talk to her then?" Latte offered.

"Perhaps it's best to leave her in peace." He replied,"She has seen too much." This was true.

"I wish you would say that concerning lover, you never give any of my lovers peace." Latte muttered and Damien smiled.

He took the last bite of his doughnut."Lovers? More like deadbeats and lowlifes." Every single one had met a untimely death by his hand, not that Latte had noticed. She simply found the next one to irritate him with."I suppose it's too late now." He said, thinking of the baby.

She huffed."Dan was legit." She stated and Damien nearly started choking again."And Jake was damn rich."

"Dan had a van and thought dogs were going to learn to talk!" He found himself shouting."He was by far the worst."

"Oh please." Latte shook her head as if Damien was the one saying nonsense.

"Jake? You mean the twilight wannabe?"

She had no reply but said instead."Eric cleaned your toilets." She offered, as if saying Eric cleaned the toilets was saying Eric bought you that Mercedes Benz you wanted.

"Because that was his job!"Damien exclaimed."He was the damn cleaner Latte!" It was the most horrifying thing Damien had experienced, that was saying something." Do you have any idea how embarrassing that was?"

"HE was hot." She simply said."And you dated Amelia. That eighty something year old witch."

Damien blinked."I'm sorry, Who?" Damien shook his head,"I don't date Latherna."

"No, but I remember how hot the nights were." She retorted and Damien almost groaned out loud.

"I am a follower of God. And that is enough." And then he added,"Hot? Well it gets hot in Carsden I suppose." He nearly laughed.

"Hot night, he was good I tell you." He could see clearly what she was trying to do and even though it became forced, he still smiled."Hot? That's why he is in the graveyard now."He replied with venom.

"Dresden is better though. Too bad you are celibate."

...

That was a very suggestive and interesting line. Damien smile finally fell.

"But that's fine I suppose,"She sighed,"You really hate my lovers don't you?" She gave him a sidelong look of dismay.

Damien scoffed,"Dresden is a lowly teacher who has no style!" It was true, you could be drop dead gorgeous but if you dressed like Dresden it was no use."Honestly, did you see some the shirts he wears?"

"No style?" Latte repeated, simply in disbelief that a Priest was giving fashion criticism about her boyfriend style."Says the dude in the robes." She shot back.

"A timeless look!" Damien declared, looking down his black robe and it's many secret pockets. It was gorgeous, even more useful. But right now his collar was itchy.

"The look of a peasant rat." She scoffed, by now people were simply eating their doughnuts and drinking their coffee while watching their entertainment."Timeless indeed!" Somebody laughed at Latte's joke.

"It never goes out of style." Somewhere in the background, as he said the words, someone started playing the Taylor Swift song.

"Yes, because it's so ugly, no one bothers to look at it."

Somewhere in his head, Toby gasped.

Damien then turned his attention to Latherna's thick layers of jackets and coats over her white dress." Well I suppose that's why you dress like a hobbit then." Referring to Latte's favorite novel series from her childhood. The one he spent many nights reading to her before bed, oh where had the time gone?" You got my style, dear." He went to rub the itch but found the skin there tender and raw.

Latte nearly slammed her hand down on table again." I dress like Galadriel." She stated, as if she said something amazing.

"Exactly!" Damien almost threw his arms out.

Latte's eyes narrowed in a challenging way."You haven't seen me in full bloom yet. Damien. "

Damien coffee was just about dipping off the table at this point. He had coughed and choked on it too many times."I never want to!" He covered his face with the back of his hand in horror.

Latte's mood immediately improved knowing she won their petty argument. But Damien just looked disdainfully at her.

"That's Father Damien." He corrected her. But knew it was useless, she would forever call him Damien.

"Fine." She said taking a sip of tea."I don't know why I even call you that. You aren't my real father, the Mayor killed him." She muttered thoughtlessly.

Ouch.

He felt a sudden need to prove he was a good father."And its goddamn awful that Mayor died of a heart attack." He gave Latte a look. That had taken some time and careful planning on his and Pastor Joseph part. No one even expected that Tom Cruiser death was murder. "I did so much for you."

Latte raised a eyebrow." Jason is still alive, Damien." She said dryly."He is quite literally in his office right now."

Damien narrowed his eyes. The people watching them, started a live YouTube feed."I'm speaking of Tom, the Mayor before him." He gave another look to her.

"That Fool?" She shook her head."Jason was the one who killed my Father." She explained in a low voice."Not Tom. He killed my grandfather, not my father."

Damien very nearly rolled his eyes. Same difference, he still got revenge for Latte, not that she cared."I have a meeting with Jason soon." He changed the topic. Lately the Mayor had been asking to him alot. He was asked to bless the plants and do prayers for the town. If only they knew he wasn't blessing them, but cursing them.

Latherna almost dropped her cup. It was rare that Damien told her any if his business, and she preferred not to know." Wait, are you goddamn serious?" She exclaimed and Damien replied a fake story about how the Mayor wanted to discuss the church and the community.

"Alright then." She paused, a nervous smile replaced the usual scowl she wore when she saw him."But about the wedding." She started and Damien got quiet, as his face twisted up as if in pure pain,"Oh come on." She said, noticing his demeanor.

He tried to speak but lost his voice.

"Please?" She begged, suddenly to Damien she was eight again and asking him to get her the new D&D set. He couldn't resist her then, but he was stronger now, he-

Her lips turned down in a sad frown, her eyes seem larger and watery. Damien nearly broke down.

" I'm already expecting." She said, thinking this would help." Three months into the pregnancy."

That was it.

For the first time since Maryse died, Damien felt his eyes burn with unsheathed tears."Latte, your my little girl! How could this happen!?" Damien bemoaned," So soon."

"I'm twenty seven." Latte said flatly.

But then he remembered. He remembered how about three months ago, Darwin had, for the first time in his life, walked into confession. It had taken almost an hour for him to get out what was troubling him but when he had,"I see," Damien started thoughtfully," So when Darwin told me he walked in on you and Dresden..." He trialled off as realization dawned upon him, if the timeline makes sense, that meant-"That's when the child was conceived?" He asked, his mind stuttering so he barely noticed the people behind him choke and stare in utter shock.

There came the laughter.

Latte looked utterly speechless, obviously unaware that Darwin had ever seen them. After a moment she appeared to be in a deep shock,"DARRY!?" She exclaimed with horror but Damien was too busy shaking his head, trying to get Darwin's words out his head.

"Darwin told me..." Damien broke off, his mind still fixing itself."The Church..." he trailed off again as he remembered it."He was so..." Darwin pale face, dark circled eyes from nights of horrifically reliving it flashed before Damien's eyes." He said how he saw you doing...unholy things." A lady who was eavesdropping, fall on her side laughing.

"Oh fudge you." Latte tried to compose herself and take control of the conversation again. She tried tell him that wouldn't do that in a church but Damien already knew the truth.

He half-heartedly told her not to swear but he was still reliving Darwin's words and shuddering but had enough sense and bitterness to add,"The only things that fudged, were you and Dresden. Or so Darwin says."

"DARWIN!?" Latte cried and threw her head into her arms to hide her flushing face.

Damien gave her a solemn look, his face twisted up in stress,"He told me, Latte." He paused, then said with seriousness the situation needed,"He told me, everything."He barely held back a shudder.

"It happened in school, you liar." Latte immediately started fuming again. Now her cheeks were flushed by anger not embarrassment.

Damien was puzzled. "Darwin has been lying? School?" He could tell she was saying the truth, but had Darwin, so that meant...

The church and School!?

Latte realized her error and immediately bemoaned before throwing her face in her arms again.

"Like that's any better!?" Damien groaned, God, what had Latte been up to? What happened to his sweet little girl?

Latherna eyes slowly darkened, she looked up at him with a dangerous gaze."OH SHUT UP DAMIEN!"She shouted and a more people came into the doughnut shop to watch this A class entertainment."AS IF YOU DIDN'T FUDGE THE PRINCIPAL!" A producer from Netflix visiting, noticed them and began writing the script of the next big sitcom.

Gasps heard from around the shop. A man buying his second doughnut dropped it. A Reporter watched eagerly, her pen clicking away. And Sister Gwyneth walked in, then heard Latte, and walked back out.

"Latte, don't take that tone with me-"

But she wasn't done.

"THE SPRING OF 2008." She started but Damien wasn't having this nonsense, he exclaimed, as loudly as he could,"I fudged no one but God!"

Latte stared at him.

The reporter's pen stopped working, a girl drinking a milkshake and coughed it out in laughter and spayed it at her boyfriend across from her. The YouTube feed hit five hundred viewers.

"You," Latte was at a lose, her month opened and closed before repeating uncertainly,"You fudged, God?"

"God is my Lord, I fudge him only."

Some people gave him respectful glances, one man stood up and did a peace sign.

Latte took a breath, this wasn't what she thought she'd do today."DAMIEN!"She yelled, "That is ridiculous! You are worse than me."

A moment of silence.

"We've been in this doughnut shop for far too long."

He checked the itchy spot on his neck again. There was a small bump.

"See you soon, Tobias."
