ย Shock and nervousness took over Sofia's body, she told herself that she'd tell Mason the next time she saw him, but she didn't think it'd be so soon. "Surprise!" Mason smiled; Sofia sent him a nervous smile back letting him come in.ย

He set his bag down on the ground and brought Sofia into a tight hug lifting off of the ground, "I've missed you so much," he told her with a smile, "I missed you too," Sofia nodded in agreement awkwardly patting his back with her free hand, he had missed her so much and it had only been a few days.

"What's wrong?" Mason asked in concern, he could tell something was up with Sofia, "Uh, nothing, I'm just surprised that you're here right now," Sofia half lied, it was true she was surprised that he was there, but she was also very nervous because she knew that she had to tell him.

The sound of someone clearing their throat startled the two causing Sofia to look down at her phone, "Oh right, I'll call you guys later or tomorrow," Sofia told them, "Bye Sofie," Brooke waved before leaving the call, "Bye Sofia!" Madi smiled, "Yeah, bye!" Sofia waved back to Madi who waved before the two simultaneously pressed the big read button ending the call.

"So, how have you been? We haven't talked in a few days, I was starting to get worried," Sofia bit her lip before speaking out of nervousness, "I have to tell you something," Mason nodded for her to continue slightly nervous about what she was going to say next.

Sofia then started explaining her night at Tara's party, excluding her conversation with Kyle, she had told him that she met Kyle and that they talked, but she never told him about their conversation about him and Matt. Sofia then started explaining what happened with Danny.

Mason cut her off and asked, "Are you okay?" Mason stepped closer to Sofia, but she backed away towards the kitchen island, "I'm fine," Sofia quickly answered. Mason's face twisted with confusion; he wondered if something more had happened with this Danny guy that made her afraid of him.

"Are you sure?" nodding in response, Sofia fidgeted with her fingers as she builds up the courage to tell him, taking a step closer towards her to figure out what she was so scared of Mason questioned her, "What's wrong?"ย

Nervously biting her lip she replies, "I did something... something that you're not going to like. But I was drunk," Mason's face twist in confusion and worry, "What happened?" Mason questioned trying block out his anger with fear and worry. Sofia looked down at the floor as she trembled, she couldn't tell him.

She knew this would ruin everything and she was just too scared and nervous to say anything, "What is it, Sofia? Come one you can tell me anything," Mason promised her, gently bringing his hands to hers, interlocking them, "Your gonna hate me," a tear fell from her eye as she spoke, "I could never hate you, Sofia." Mason spoke softly with an oh so promising tone, it sounded way too good to be true.

"Just tell me," He added, softening his tone, "I kissed someone," the words fell out of her mouth, each word with a nervous tone as she spoke.ย

Mason whole demeanor changed, he pulled away from Sofia, running his fingers through his hair as his head ran with thoughts, he was sad, but he could never be mad at Sofia, especially over something so small, sure she kissed someone else and that was considered cheating, but like she said, she was drunk.

He still loved her, and he didn't want their relationship to end over a drunken kiss. It didn't mean anything, he thought, did it?ย  Mason paced the room as he let her words sink in, he couldn't believe it, but he couldn't be mad at her.

"We can figure this out, right? B-because it didn't mean anything, right? I-it was just a stupid little drunk kiss... right?" Mason frantically questioned as Sofia stood in front of him with nothing but tears in her eyes as she placed her hands over her face.

"S-Sofia? I need you to tell me it didn't mean anything, okay? I-I just need to hear it, so we can move on," whipping her tears from her eyes as Mason questioned her, her heart broke for him, she made a mistake and she couldn't fix it, but she knew that she couldn't go on with him knowing that she had feelings for Matt.ย

She just couldn't do that to Mason.

"Right?" Mason softly questioned, a singular tear falling from his eye as he spoke with a shaky tone, he knew what she was about to say and he was right, "Mason I-I am so, so sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen, I was drunk and I-"

"So then let's move on. It was a mistake, and it didn't mean anything, right?" Mason once again questioned looking into Sofia's eyes causing hers to water, trembling as she spoke, Sofia managed to respond, "I don't know," she softly spoke with a shrug. "What do you mean you don't know?" Mason questioned softening his tone as his eyes filled with tears.

Neither said anything as their hearts shattered, Mason had never in his whole entire life loved someone as much as he had loved Sofia and now, now she had broken his heart, whether it was intentional or not, his heart was shattered.

Meanwhile Sofia trembled with pain in her already shattered heart as she watched Mason's expression change, his eyes were filled with tears and his tone, she could tell he was holding back a sob as he spoke, "So this is it? You're throwing us away all for some guy?"

Sofia cursed to herself at his words, he was right, and she was disappointed in herself. She knew cheating was wrong and although she didn't mean for it to happen, she didn't hate that it did and that is what broke her heart even more.

Throwing them away all for Matt.

"I'm so, so, sorry Mason. I-" her words were interrupted by Mason who questioned her, "Who even is this guy anyway?" whipping away her tears, Sofia rubbed her neck as she spoke, replying to his question with a shakiness filling her tone, "Matt."ย

"All for Matt?" Sofia bit her lip holding back a sob, "We're done," Mason held back a cry as he grabbed his bag ready to go, "Mason I am s-" he shook his head as Sofia spoke, "No, I-I can't. I need some time to think and process this," Mason had never had a heartbreak, not one like this.ย

Watching as Mason left, Sofia let out her cries once the door slammed shut. She knew this was all her fault and she understood why he left her, but she didn't know that it would hurt so bad. She felt horrible for causing him this heartache.ย

There was quite literally nothing she could ever say or do to forgive herself; she didn't blame Mason for leaving and she sure as hell didn't blame him if he never forgave her. In her mind, she deserved it, she deserved everything that came her way.

Mason drove the streets of LA looking for somewhere to sit so he could sit and think, clear his head a little. Welded up tears falling from his face as he drove, Mason wasn't the type to ever think or say, "Men can't cry," Mason only cried when necessary and right now, he felt it was pretty necessary.ย

Although Mason wasn't mad at her for a drunk kiss and he wasn't sad because Sofia had kissed Matt, he understood that she was drunk, and he thought it was a mistake and from what it sounded like it was, but Mason actually wanted to fix things and move on, but she didn't want that and that was what hurt him the most.ย

So, no Mason wasn't mad at Sofia for a drunken kiss, he was mad, sad, and overall heartbroken because she liked it and because he thought that he and Matt had been getting closer, becoming 'bro's' but he was wrong, and he was disappointed.

The fact that Matt could've stopped or pulled away from her is what truly broke Mason, who he thought was his friend, had kissed his girlfriend, ex-girlfriend now, and last time he checked friends don't do that to friends.ย

Parking his car, Mason stepped out and walked around, stopping at a bench where he sat in silence, nothing but him and his thoughts, maybe everyone was right, Matt and Sofia really would be a great couple.ย ย

Moments of the two played in his head, Mason had always been watching the two from afar, it was like they were on Mars, and he was nothing but an invisible alien. Looking back at the two's relationship, he saw that there had always been some type of chemistry with the two.

Sighing to himself in disappointment that he didn't realize sooner, Mason dropped his head onto the table, sitting in silence. Until a shadow creeped over him, feeling the shadow above him, Mason glanced up to see a familiar face, "Jessie?" Mason questioned, "Hey Mason,"

"Is this seat taken?" Jessie asked she held onto her cup of coffee, "Not anymore," Mason gestured for her to take a seat, which she did, as he crossed his arms, "How are you? It's been so long," Jessie questioned with a smile dancing on her lips.

"Probably because the last time we spoke you were trying to flirt with me whilst I was dating Sofia." Mason pursed his lips after he spoke, "Oh... I'm really sorry about that, by the way, I just had a huge crush on you, but so did Sofia and you chose her," Jessie took a long sip of her coffee, "It's okay, it's in the past," Mason assured her with a smile.

"Thanks Mason," she smiled, "So, how're you doing?" Mason wondered, "I've doing pretty good actually!" Jessie beamed, "That's good," Mason nodded, "Yeah, but what sucks is that my friend and I planned to go on vacation to the UK today, but she woke up sick, so now I have to go by myself," Jessie huffed out.

"That does suck, man, I miss the UK," Mason muttered to himself, "Wait! I have the perfect idea," Jessie exclaimed drawing Mason out of his thoughts, "What's that?" Mason wondered, "You should come with me! You said you miss the UK and I have a free ticket. I'm going tonight and if you don't have anything better to do..." Jessie trailed off.

"Come on, think about it, you could visit family and just have a great time in the UK, please?" Jessie added with a pleading tone. Mason thought about for a few seconds, going to the UK with my ex-girlfriend's enemy? Mason cut his thoughts short and spoke.ย

"Let's do it!" Mason stood up with excitement in his tone, "Yay!" Jessie cheered. Mason knew that if he was still with Sofia, she would've absolutely hated him for doing this, but he was a free man and could pick and choose what he did and didn't do, and right now he was choosing to go to visit family because he missed them and because he couldn't afford a plane ticket back to Boston right now, not that he'd even want to go.

He'd go back to Boston to what? stay with his ex-girlfriend's family while they're broken up? yeah hell no. Jessie brought him into a hug and thanked him, for coming with her, "No problem, it's better than going back to Boston," Mason shrugged into the hug before pulling away.

"What's in Boston?" Jessie wondered, "Nothing anymore," he replied, "What happened?" Jessie asked, "Sofia and I broke up and I was staying with her in Boston, but she came to LA because of... family stuff. So, I came to visit her, but we broke up and now I have nowhere to go,"ย

Mason explained with a sad tone, Jessie felt sympathy for Mason, knowing that that probably took a toll on his whole day, she knew that the two had been deeply and madly in love, they even had a plan to get married in the future, but now everything was going downhill.

"Aww, I'm sorry Mason and if you ever want to talk, I'm here." Mason smiled at her words, "I'll remember that" Jessie grinned and replied, "Hopefully this trip can take your mind off things," Mason nodded in agreement, "Yeah, hopefully,"ย

"Now c'mon let's go do something fun," Jessie stood from the bench holding her hand out for Mason to grab. He smiled, bringing his hand to hers. Interlocking their fingers as they walked off, away from the park and over to their cars, separately making their way to the airport.

The two spent the rest of their night, wondering the airports, catching up, getting to know each other considering the two had changed a lot within the past few years.ย

Meanwhile Sofia spent her night in her room smoking by the window, she didn't want to feel anything, and she couldn't by alcohol, nor could she buy cigarettes but, they let her pass because gave them a twenty-dollar tip.

So, she smoked away her pain, hoping to wake up from her nightmare of a life.
