introducing..
andrea navedo as coach aurelia

Sam and Marisol arrived at Miyagi-Do. As they walked in, Sam's phone started ringing, prompting them to share a similar confused look. Sam showed her phone, revealing Aisha's call. "Answer it!" Marisol encouraged her. Sam cracked a grin, answering the call. "Hey, about time I heard from you. Did you miss me?" Aisha's voice echoed through the phone.

Marisol observed Sam's smile drop, causing her to knit her eyebrows together in concern. "What do you want?" Sam asked the unknown caller, continuing to walk as Marisol followed her. 'Who is it?' Marisol mouthed, and Sam held her finger up, signaling to give her a minute.

Marisol attempted to eavesdrop on the phone call, but all she heard were muffled voices. She continued to follow Sam into the dojo. "Yeah, well, it's not that easy," Sam exhaled. Marisol furrowed her eyebrows, following Sam outside. "Look, Miguel, Iβ€”"

Marisol's eyes widened in shock as Miguel's name was mentioned. She grabbed Sam's phone, putting it to her ear with a mix of frustration and concern. "Leave Sam alone, you jerk! You threatened my half-cousin. Also, tell Hawk to stop texting me! We're over, as well as you and Sam! Bye!" Marisol exclaimed, her emotions evident in her forceful words.

She ended the call, receiving a scolding look from Sam, and raised her hands in the air in defense. "Hey, come on, our exes are cray-cray," she pointed out with a knowing smile, chuckling softly. "Hey, guys!" Daniel exclaimed, capturing Marisol's attention. "All right. Perfect attendance on day one-" he got cut off by a phone ringing.

Marisol's phone disrupted the tranquility of the dojo with its ringing. Daniel raised an eyebrow in disapproval as Marisol quickly grabbed her phone, offering an apologetic look. "Sorry, it's my dad. Let me go take this," she explained, swiftly retreating into the inside dojo to answer the call.

Marisol responded to her father's call, bringing the phone to her ear. "Dad, I'm at practice," she reminded him. His concerned voice echoed through the phone, expressing worry. "Bug, I don't want you to do karate. There's been a lot of drama with these rival dojos, and Iβ€”I just don't think it's safe. You need to stay balanced on your medicine, and being stressed from karate isn't gonna help. I enrolled you back into Cheer Camp," George explained, leaving Marisol in shock with her mouth agape.

Marisol couldn't believe her dad. All she wanted to do this summer was be with Sam, but no, he decided to switch up on her. She remained silent, not responding to him. "I love you, okay? You're always good at Cheer. I'm not surprised why you haven't joined the team yet. I want you to focus on Junior year, which is why I enrolled you in this," George blurted, attempting to reassure her.

Marisol's frustration grew as the weight of her father's decision sank in. The summer she had envisioned with Sam, filled with karate and shared moments, was slipping away. After a moment of silent contemplation, she reluctantly responded, "Okay, dad. I love you too... What time do I need to go?" The disappointment was evident in her voice as he shared the inconvenient news, "You have to go now, I'm sorry. It starts at 11:30." She hung up the phone, frustration and a sense of resignation etched across her face.

Marisol stepped outside, mustering up the courage to deliver the news. "Hey guys," she began, her voice tinged with a mix of nervousness and disappointment. "It looks like I won't be able to do karate anymore. My dad wants me to join cheerleading instead. I'm really sorry." As she exhaled, she could see the disappointment in Daniel's face.

He frowned and replied, "Oh. Uhm, well... I hope you have fun with cheerleading. I'm really sad to see you go. I wish you could stay." His hands found their way to his hips, a sign of his conflicted emotions. Sam, who had been standing nearby, frowned as well. She took a step forward, planting a quick kiss on Marisol's cheek before pulling her into a tight embrace, offering comfort and support in that moment.

Marisol entered the gymnasium, her cheer costume on and a nervous energy in her every step. She couldn't help but fidget with the necklace Natasha had given her, a comforting reminder of their friendship. As she scanned the room, her eyes landed on Moon, and she couldn't contain her surprise. "Moon?" she exclaimed, making her way over to her with a mix of excitement and curiosity.

"Marsie!" Moon exclaimed, wrapping her arms around Marisol in a quick, tight hug. "I had no idea you were gonna be here! I thought you joined Miyagi-Do?" she asked, a hint of confusion in her voice. Marisol chuckled nervously, not wanting to jeopardize Moon's relationship with Hawk by revealing his true nature. "Yeah, well, my dad decided to enroll me in this instead. He wasn't too keen on me doing karate," Marisol explained, trying to keep things light.

Moon let out a playful hum. "Ooh, I'm with your dad on this one. Cheer is definitely better," she said, clicking her tongue. Marisol shrugged, a hint of indecision in her response. "Eh, I actually like both. But enough about that. How are things going with you and Hawk?" she asked, hoping to shift the conversation. Moon's grin widened as she replied, "We're good! He's been super focused on Cobra Kai lately."

Marisol's smile, though it appeared on her face, felt forced, like a mask she was wearing to hide her true emotions. Her voice trailed off into a soft sigh as Coach Aurelia's whistle pierced the air, grabbing the attention of both Moon and Marisol. They turned their heads towards the coach, their eyes fixed on her as she prepared to address the team.

With a voice that carried authority and enthusiasm, Coach Aurelia declared, "All right, Ladies! I hope you've all been putting in the hours of practice because this summer is going to push you to your limits!" Her words echoed through the gymnasium, filling the space with a mix of excitement and determination. Marisol's heart raced as she realized the challenges that lay ahead, knowing that she would have to give her all to rise to the occasion.

Marisol couldn't help but bite her bottom lip, her hands planted firmly on her hips, as Coach Aurelia began distributing the pom poms. "Alright, ladies! We're gonna kick things off with some basic moves, then work our way up to pyramids, tumbling, and beyond!" the coach instructed, her voice filled with excitement. Marisol couldn't resist the opportunity to inject a bit of playfulness into the moment. She held the pom poms in her hands and jokingly struck a pose, strutting around with a smirk on her face, causing Moon to burst into laughter.

Moon playfully nudged Marisol in the side, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "M&M!" Moon exclaimed, excitement evident in her voice. Marisol looked at her with a hint of confusion, unsure of what she meant. "Both of our names start with M!" Moon clarified, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. Marisol's eyebrows raised as realization dawned upon her. "Oh my gosh, you're absolutely right!" she exclaimed, a smile spreading across her face.

Coach Aurelia made her way over to Marisol and Moon, her whistle echoing through the air. "Cervantes, Addams! Good to see you two, but let's keep it down!" she shouted, her voice firm yet friendly. Marisol and Moon quickly sealed their lips, exchanging mischievous glances, desperately trying to suppress their laughter. "Alright, everyone, let's kick off the day with some simple cheers. Find a partner and give each other constructive feedback. I'll be around to ensure everything runs smoothly," Coach Aurelia instructed, her presence reassuring as she moved around the gym, keeping a watchful eye on the team.

Marisol and Moon joined forces, performing their cheers with enthusiasm. As they were in the middle of their routine, Coach Aurelia approached them, a playful smirk on her face. "Cervantes! How's your dad?" she asked, her tone filled with mischief. Marisol couldn't help but let out a snort of laughter, her memories of her dad's past relationship with Coach Aurelia flooding back. "Uh, he's doing well. He actually got married to my stepmom, Natasha, two years ago tomorrow. They're throwing a big party this weekend," Marisol replied, a mix of nostalgia and excitement in her voice.

Coach Aurelia subtly bit her cheek, her expression betraying a hint of amusement. "Good to know," she commented casually before walking away. Moon furrowed her eyebrows, curiosity evident in her gaze as she looked at Marisol. "What's the story behind that?" she asked, her voice filled with intrigue.

Marisol chuckled softly, a hint of nostalgia in her tone. "Well, Coach and my dad actually dated for a brief period before he met my stepmom... And let's just say I accidentally walked in on them," she trailed off, her voice tinged with a mix of embarrassment and amusement. Moon's eyes widened slightly as she processed the revelation. "Oh... I can only imagine," she responded, her tone filled with understanding.
