One year and nine months ago

Aleta walked through the Ark Library searching for an interesting book to read. Her fingers skimmed the spines of the different books as she passed by them. She stopped in front of one of the old book shelves and grabbed a book. It was an old journal, which seemed to have been from Earth.

She flipped it open to the first page and began to read it. The handwriting was slightly messy but neat enough to where it could be read. She walked over to a table and sat down, placing the journal on top of the table. She rested her head in the palm of her hand.

It was a diary, she soon began to realize, and the first page was the entry. As she continued reading, she found herself immersed in the life of whoever the journal had belonged to. The owner of the diary had a fairly interesting life. They made it seem like Earth was amazing but awful at the same time.

But to Aleta, any place would be better than the Ark. "What are you reading?" A voice asked. Aleta looked up and smiled lazily up at Bellamy. "A diary. It's from Earth," she answered. Bellamy pulled out a chair and sat down across from her. He picked up the diary and read the page that she was reading.

"Wow. This is really, wow," Bellamy said as he read the words scribbled on the page. "Yeah, it's pretty deep," Aleta replied. Bellamy looked up at her and smiled m. "How long have you been waiting?" He asks. Aleta let out a fake sigh. "For so long. Like, ten whole minutes," she answered with a smile and he laughed, which caused her smile to widen.

"Well, sorry I made you wait. I had something to take care of," he said softly. Aleta waved her hand in dismissal. "It's fine," she assured. Bellamy slid the journal back over to her and laid his hands on the table. "So, I've been thinking," he started. "What have you been thinking about?" Aleta asked, closing the journal and leaning forward.

"Do you ever wonder about the different places that used to exist. You know, countries and stuff?" He asked. Aleta thought for a moment. "Not really. I mean, we learn about them in class," she replied. "Yeah but, we learn the bare minimum. I want to know as much as I can about the different countries and cities that were on Earth," Bellamy explained.

"Is there a point to all of this?" Aleta asked in amusement. "I was thinking that maybe, you and I could try and find out information about the different places that used to exist on Earth. I found this book about geography and came across this country named Italy. It seems like a place that I'm sure you would have loved to have visited," Bellamy replied.

Aleta smiled, "Okay, tell me about Italy." A smile formed onto Bellamy's face and he began to tell her everything that he knew. He looked so happy about telling her everything and it made her happy.

Over the past months, Aleta and Bellamy have spent a lot of time together. They developed a really good friendship that neither of them expected to have but both were happy about.

"I wish I had pictures to show you," Bellamy mumbled. "That's okay. I think that I've painted a fairly clear picture in my head based on your descriptions," Aleta replied. "If Italy still existed and we were still on Earth, I would take you there," Bellamy admitted. She laughed at his words. "And I would've loved you forever if you did," she said and he smiled.

"My mom used to tell me about this country, Greece. It's where all the Greek mythology that you love so much comes from. She told me my name was Greek," Aleta told him. "Really? What does it mean?" He asked curiously.

"It means truthful, which is kinda ironic if you think about it," she answered with a light chuckle. Bellamy shook his head. "You're truthful. Sometimes," he said. "Oh, shut up," she laughed. She looked down at her watch and sighed. She looked back up at Bellamy who nodded in understanding. "It's okay. Go. I'll see you later," he said.

"I'd rather stay here and talk to you about ancient Greece," Aleta admitted. "That's okay. You can tell me later. Now go, or you'll be late," Bellamy replied. Aleta stood up and grabbed the journal. She walked back to the book shelf and returned it before walking back over to the table.

"I like your hair better when it isn't gelled like that," she said randomly. "Goodbye, Aleta," Bellamy said . She leaned over and kissed his cheek before exiting the library. Bellamy smiled and touched his fingertips to his cheek where a faint blush began to form.

Aleta walked down the Ark corridors toward her home. She was having dinner with the Griffins and she couldn't be late. When she got there, Clarke and her parents were already there and everyone was moving about the room. "Am I late?" Aleta asked.

"No, we're just early," Jake Griffin replied from his position by the couch. Aleta sighed in relief and walked over to Clarke. "Hey, William," she greeted and Clarke rolled her eyes. "You do know that William Clark's name doesn't have an 'e' after the 'k', right?" Clarke asked and Aleta scoffed. "Of course I know that. It's just fun to call you William," she responded.

"It annoys me," Clarke deadpanned . "That's why I do it," Aleta replied. Clarke playfully glared at her friend. "Alright everyone, come sit at the table," Gianna Romano said motioning for them to come with her hands. They all gathered around the table and sat down. There were extra chairs so that the Griffins had a place to sit.

Clarke sat next to Aleta and began eating from her nutrition pack. Aleta frowned down at the "food" on the table. She hated nutrition packs with a passion. "I wish we had real food. Like how people used to eat on Earth," Aleta whispered to Clarke who nodded in agreement. "Well at least we have food," the blonde pointed out and Aleta nodded.

Some people on the Ark weren't so lucky. Raven for example rarely had any rations because her alcoholic bitch of a mother would almost always trade them for, you guessed it, alcohol. It made Aleta furious, to say the least. Luckily for Raven, she had Aleta and Finn, who were more than willing to give her some of their rations.

Aleta ate her food quickly and when everyone was done, they went to the living room and sat around the TV. Damon Romano turned on a one hundred year old soccer game and they all started watching it.

After the game was over, Clarke and her parents left. Aleta went to bed a short while after their departure.

The next day, Aleta walked down the corridors of Tesla Station. She planned on meeting up with Freya to study. It seemed that Aleta was always everywhere but her home. "Boo!" A voice exclaimed causing her to jump. She quickly turned, swinging her arm in order to hit whoever it was in the face.

Bellamy quickly caught her arm before her fist can make contact with his face. "Whoa, it's just me," he said. He dropped her arm and held up his hands in surrender. Aleta slapped his shoulder roughly and he laughed. "What the hell, Bell? You know better than to sneak up on me," she said as her fast beating heart began to return to its normal rhythm.

He laughed again. "But I knew seeing your scared face would be worth it. Nice reflexes by the way," Bellamy complimented. Aleta rolled her eyes. "Gee, thanks," she said before continuing to walk. Bellamy walked next to her. "What are you even doing here?" Aleta asked him. "I came to give you something," he answered.

Aleta narrowed her eyes. "How did you know I'd be here?" She asked suspiciously. "I have my ways," he answered in a way that he hoped was mysterious. It wasn't. "Here," he said as he took out an object and held it out for her. Aleta looked down at what he was holding. "It's a notebook," he explained she rolls her eyes.

"I know what it is. I have about five thousand in my room," she said, taking the black notebook from his hand. "Where did you get it?" She asked looking up at him. "From the Exchange," he answered simply and she narrowed her eyes at him. Aleta opened her mouth to speak but he stopped her. "No more questions. Just accept your gift. You can use it to write down whatever places you find. Or even make it your own diary," Bellamy said with a small smile.

Aleta smiled softly at him. "Thank you, Bellamy," she said, pulling him into a hug. He held her tightly, "You're welcome," he whispered into her hair. She pulled away and smiled up at him again. "I should go. Freya's waiting," Aleta said and Bellamy nodded. "Of course. Have fun," he said. Aleta scoffed, "We're gonna be studying. There's nothing fun about that."

"Yeah, well make it fun," he retorted. She shook her head at him, "I'll see you later?" She questioned. "See you later," he confirmed. "Maybe see you later will be our always," Aleta joked. Bellamy scrunched up his face in confusion and Aleta couldn't help but think the action was cute. "What?" He asked and she shook her head.

"Nothing. Just something I read in a book," she replied before beginning to walk backwards and away from him. "Bye, Bell Boy," Aleta said and he glared playfully at her for the nickname. "Bye, Alley Cat," he replied with a smirk and she scrunched up her face in disgust, which Bellamy thought was adorable. She saluted him and turned around, walking away from him.

The boy smiled as he stared after her and shook his head before turning in the opposite direction and walking away.
