Haylee walked into the CCPD with a smile after hearing from Iris that Barry was back from Starling and that he was in trouble with Joe and Captain Singh. She hadn't told Barry about getting the job at S.T.A.R Labs yet, but she was beyond glad that Harrison let her leave work to get Barry and bring him to see the Particle Accelerator. "Barr!" Haylee called before jumping onto Barry's back. "Hayles! Woah..." He quickly adjusted her so she wouldn't fall.

"Guess what?!" Haylee cheered before resting her head in the crook of Barry's neck sending his heart into overdrive as his chest warmed and butterflies let loose in his stomach. "What?" Barry asked silently before pouting slightly when Haylee climbed off of his back. "I got it!" Haylee said with a wide smile, Barry furrowed his brows for a moment before realising what she was saying. "YOU GOT THE JOB?!" Barry asked and Haylee nodded.

Barry wrapped his arms around Haylee and lifted her off of the ground, spinning around as the two cheered. "That is amazing! I'm proud of you," Barry said as he placed her down, holding her at arm's length. He took a moment to stare into her eyes, his racing heart and fluttering stomach caused him to blush slightly but Haylee didn't notice the look of love within Barry's eyes.

"Okay, I am ready to see this atom smasher smashing," Iris' voice interrupted the two as she walked into the lab. Haylee turned to Iris with a smile, "That isn't correct, hun." Iris shrugged with a smirk before looking at Barry with a knowing smirk. "There was a shooting today," Barry said after clearing his throat trying to ignore the look Iris sent him. "Your dad needs me to process some evidence, which means I don't know if I'll be able to make it to S.T.A.R labs," Barry finished off.

Haylee turned her head to Barry with sad pleading eyes and he hated seeing that look. "I-I'm sorry, Hayles. But I gotta work," Barry spoke turning away from Haylee knowing he'd cave otherwise. "But seeing the Particle Accelerator turned on is our dream, Barr..." Haylee spoke softly causing a pang in Barry's chest but he couldn't risk his job. "Yeah, your sad, little nerdy dream. Besides, I cancelled a date for this," Iris spoke as she stole one of Barry's fries.

"Hands off my fries," Barry warned as he moved them quickly out of her reach, but closer to Haylee. "Unbelievable. I'm stress eating over my dissertation," Iris began as she walked to stand with Haylee who had grabbed a fry and stuck it in her mouth. "We started selling cronuts at Jitters. I ate two today. If I don't graduate soon, I'm gonna be more muffin top than woman," Iris finished off making Haylee scoff. "Oh please, you look amazing, Iris," Haylee stated before taking another fry.

"And why does she get to eat them?" Iris asked with a knowing smirk. Barry shrugged causing Iris to roll her eyes but laughed when Haylee fed Barry a fry before holding one out for Iris. "What is so important about this Particle Accelerator anyway?" Iris asked after finishing the fry. "Harrison Wells' work in quantum theory is light-years ahead of anything they're doing in Cern," Barry attempted to explain to Iris who simply looked to Haylee for help.

"He's doing that thing where he doesn't speak English so I need my translator," Iris said causing a laugh to escape Haylee's lips as Barry feigned being hurt by her words. Haylee got up and walked towards the whiteboard, grabbing the marker and clearing her throat. "Okay, just imagine that that dot is everything the human race has ever learned until this moment," Haylee spoke as she drew a dot before looking at Iris. "Does that include twerking?" Iris asked making Haylee laugh again.

Barry watched in awe as Haylee explained the science to Iris. "That is everything we could learn from the Particle Accelerator," Haylee stated as she drew a circle around the dot. "It's a whole new way of looking at physics," Barry added as he stepped closer to them. "It will literally change the way that we think about everything," Haylee finished off with the same enthusiasm as Barry causing Iris to look between the two.

"Okay, one, Barry, you have got to get yourself a girlfriend and two, Haylee, don't encourage him," Iris stated with a smirk. "Hey, leave him alone. He's working," Joe spoke as he walked into the lab. "Hi, Dad," Iris greeted him with a hug. "Hey, Papa Joe," Haylee spoke as they hugged. The testing machine beeped gaining Iris' attention. "Your test thingy is done," Iris spoke up causing Haylee to laugh. "I think the Mardon brothers are hiding on a farm," Barry informed Joe.

"The fecal matter he found on the scene, it's cow manure, which contains traces of oxytetracycline," Haylee continued though she noticed Iris' confused look at the large word. "It's an antibiotic," Haylee dumbed down a little bit. "There are only four farms in the area that still use it in their feed. Bet you'll find a really sweet Shelby parked at one of them," Barry finished off before turning to Joe completely. "Hm, can I have the Shelby?" Haylee asked Joe who chuckled softly while shaking his head causing her to pout.

"Dad, seeing as how Barry solved your poop problem, with Haylee's epic help, how about letting him go to S.T.A.R labs?" Iris asked with her usual smile. "Fine, go," Joe waved them off. Iris and Haylee smiled widely as Barry cheered, "Thank you, Joe." The three of them headed out of the lab and down the stairs. "So, Barry, how was your trip?" Iris asked as the three of them walked slowly into S.T.A.R Labs.

"Yeah, did you find proof of the impossible in Starling City, or did you just make Joe mad for no reason?" Haylee asked Barry with a smirk. "Actually, while I was away, I had the chance to think about... you know, relationships. And well, I'm not in one. And you're not in one, either. And you're my best friend, Hayles," Barry spoke in hopes to get his message across. "And you're mine too, so is Iris," Haylee responded while Iris smirked as she watched the two.

"Well, why else would I be here?" Iris asked with a smile. "That's not what I, uh, meant. What I meant-" Barry began but was cut off when a guy approached them. "Miss Brager, Dr Wells wishes to speak with you a moment," The man spoke. "Oh, uh, All right. I'll be back," Haylee walked away from Barry and Iris. Barry watched as she approached a guy, the two hugged with wide smiles before he lead her through the halls, his hand resting on her back causing Barry to frown.

"Oh, you are so jealous and so not good with your words," Iris teased Barry. "What? I, uh, don't know what you mean..." Barry stuttered out looking from Iris to the stage where Harrison Wells approached the stand. "The whole "I've been thinking about relationships" talk, I mean, you gotta up your game, Barr," Iris teased causing Barry to flush a light pink as Harrison began his speech.

"Hey Ronnie," Haylee said as she walked up to him before the two hugged. "Wells just wants a quick word with you then you can join your friends again," Ronnie said with his usual smile before leading her to the corridor where Harrison was standing with Cisco. "Miss Brager, sorry to interrupt you and your friends," Harrison spoke. "It's no worry, how may I help?" Haylee asked with a smile. "Our systems in the server room are having some issues and I was hoping you'd be of assistance," Harrison asked.

Haylee agreed before following Cisco and Harrison into the server room, computers and technology everywhere. Cisco handed her a laptop that showcased potential issues, she instantly began accessing the servers while Harrison went out for his speech in front of everyone. Haylee's phone went off, she grabbed it out to see Barry calling. "Hey Barr, I'll be back in a moment-" Haylee began only for Barry to cut her off. "Iris and I left, she had her bag stolen back then Eddie Thawne saved the day," Barry explained.

"Oh okay, well... Are you in your lab?" Haylee asked. "Yeah, you don't have to come here," Barry said though he hoped she would because it'd give him a chance to pick up on the conversation he attempted earlier. "It's fine, I'll be there soon," Haylee said with a smile. Haylee continued working on the servers, it was up and working so Cisco walked out to inform the team. "Besides, this life-changing moment was one for us to share, right?" Haylee added as she rested the laptop in her lap, resting her phone between her ear and shoulder.

"Of course... Wow, this storm doesn't look too good," Barry said as he got up. "I'm gonna close the sunroof," Barry said to Haylee before putting his phone on speaker. "I can't hear it in here but these servers are wild, I don't think-" Haylee's voice cut out for Barry as he looked over to see an explosion at S.T.A.R Labs, his eyes widened. "Haylee!? HAYLEE!?" Barry called but got no response, he began panicking at the thought of her being harmed.

As he grabbed his jacket, he noticed the chemicals in the room begin to float before lightning struck through the roof sending Barry into his shelves, knocking him out as electricity coursed through him. Meanwhile, lightning hit the antennas on the roof of the S.T.A.R Labs building which soared throughout the server room causing Haylee to be hit with the electricity, which sent her flying into the wall with electricity soaring through her veins.

Author Note
I don't know if I like this but, I hope you do. Any ideas about what may happen to Haylee?
