PLOT

Eleanor Oldenburg didn't want to be the next leader of the Enchanted Forest. No part of her wanted to be a ruler, especially one with special powers. She had always resented how her life was planned out for her and wanted nothing more than to decide for herself who she was. But, like always, Eleanor didn't have a choice in the matter. She was the only one with the power to keep harmony between the real world and the spirit world, just like her mother. She had no choice other than to follow the path laid out for her.

Or so she thought.

Six months had passed since the four children from the Isle joined Auradon society. Eleanor had done all she could to help King Ben acclimate them to their new lives. The daughter of Elsa thought they were successful, but then she saw how exhausted Mal looked. She could see that the future Queen of Auradon was getting overwhelmed with her new life. Eleanor understood how she felt, probably more than anyone else in Auradon. So she decided to go to Mal's dorm to try to help her with whatever she needed. But Eleanor didn't expect to find the daughter of Maleficent preparing to journey back to the Isle.

And she really didn't expect to join her.

Eleanor was over the moon to get away from the pressure Auradon brought her, but she didn't know how she felt about being on the Isle. Everything was much darker than she envisioned, including the people, and nothing seemed to go the way she expected. But she wasn't planning on staying long. Just a few days to get her mind off everything she had to do to prepare to be Queen of her homeland. Eleanor's plan was simple. Stay close to Mal and stay out of sight. But they didn't think Ben and the other VKs would follow them. And they really didn't think they would be running into a pirate crew.

And Eleanor never thought she'd fall for a pirate.

NOTES

▻ Show Yourself should include Descendants 2 and Descendants 3. It is up to you if Descendants 1 and Rise of Red are included. If you do include Descendants 1, it should focus on the building of Eleanor's relationship with the characters and no love interest.

▻ Eleanor and Harlan will have a meet-cute moment and somewhat of a slowburn relationship. Their relationship is very sweet and they help bring out the best in each other. While Harlan helps Eleanor come to terms about ruling the Enchanted Forest, Eleanor helps Harlan discover who he truly is.

▻ Eleanor was never interested in finding love. This was mainly because of all the things she had to do as the future Queen of the Enchanted Forest. But that all changed when she met Harlan Hook.

▻ Eleanor and Autumn are very close. They act more like siblings than cousins.

▻ Eleanor has ice magic like Elsa but hates using them. They make her feel like she sticks out at Auradon Prep since not many people have/use magic.

▻ Harlan is Harry's twin brother. He is the younger twin by a few minutes.

▻ Unlike Harry and his pirate crew, Harlan is a very nice person. He tends to hide that side of himself around his crew so he isn't seen as weak. But deep down, Harlan doesn't even want to be a pirate.

▻ Eleanor and Harlan accidentally bump into each other while she and Mal are walking around the Isle. They talk for a bit but never reveal their names. Mal pulls her away from him as soon as she sees them talking. She warns Eleanor to stay away from him but doesn't tell her who he is.

▻ Harlan goes to Hunter Westergaard to find out who Eleanor is. Hunter is known on the Isle to have all the information, including information about Auradon. As soon as Harlan describes Eleanor, Hunter knows exactly who she is. He tells Harlan everything about her.

▻ Eleanor gets kidnapped by Uma's pirate crew with Ben. Harlan does everything he can to protect her from his crew and keep her out of harm's way. She eventually convinces him to go back with her to Auradon. He enrolls at Auradon Prep shortly after they return and his roommate is Doug Dwarf.

▻ Harlan is allowed to bring over another VK in Descendants 3. He chooses to bring Hunter Westergaard over.

▻ Hunter Westergaard and Autumn Bjorgman are both very important characters in this story. Please don't turn them into minor characters. I didn't choose love interests for them so that's up to you. They can be paired with a canon character or with each other.

▻ Additional Cast: Georgina Haig as Elsa Oldenburg, Elizabeth Lail as Anna Bjorgman, Scott Michael Foster as Kristoff Bjorgman (You can change these actors but the characters must be included.)

▻ This plot was inspired by an idea given to me by roscpctxls1. Please be sure to credit both of us for the plot.

The original idea that was given to me:

Eleanor, the daughter of Elsa, is next in line for the throne of Arendelle, but she doesn't want to be Queen. She wants to live out her life the way she wants to. So when Mal gets stressed about being the soon-to-be Queen of Auradon, Eleanor ends up going with her so that she can get away from Auradon and her life as a princess and future Queen of Arendelle. While on the Isle of the Lost, she ends up slowly falling in love with Harlan, the brother of Harry. But unlike Harry, he is in a way a nicer pirate. He doesn't really want to be a pirate. When he accidentally bumps into Eleanor, he goes to the son of Hans to find out that Elsa has a daughter. So long story short, Eleanor and Harlan slowly fall in love. When she is on the Isle of the Lost, Harlan protects her and teaches her how to defend herself.
