It had been a week since the death of Joey and William Zarick. To catch you up, Josephine and Denise had been staying with the Dumonts in the guest room. William's death really messed up the two Zarick women, first Joey now William, Josephine knew something was really wrong but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Josephine had been seeing their family therapist, Molly Parker ever since the accident. Melaina usually went with her but there were some days when she went alone.

Speaking of the Dumont family, things had been bad between the oldest and middle child.

FLASHBACK
HOURS AFTER THE ACCIDENT

Josephine and Melaina had walked into the Dumont household after being escorted by the police. Both with doleful faces. Lanier didn't even realize it when her little sister ran and pulled them both into a hug.

"Thank God you two are home. Wait what happened?" Tia asked noticing the blood on the clothes and damp faces.

Tia didn't even get an answer before the laughs of the seniors were all she could hear. Lyta and her friends were over. Tia looked her sister whose eyes had filled with rage.

Melaina got out of her sisters to grasp before marching to the living room where Hippolyta was.

"You are such a cold bitch!" She screamed getting the attention of five 17-year-olds.

"Finally your home, dad and Tia were about to crap themselves," Lyta responded with her eyes still on the TV while her friends noticed the expression on the Sophomores face.

"Are you serious! You were supposed to pick me, Josie and Joey, up today after the talent show!"

Jayden, Allegra, Vivian and Robby had noticed the blood on the younger girls clothes and tried to get their friends attention to look but she didn't budge.

"So..." Lyta responded bluntly.

"So...SO? Josie and I almost died when the bus was hanging over the edge of the damn bridge." Lainie started before noticing that her sister wasn't paying attention and marched up the couch, snatched the remote from her hand and throwing it into the TV screen making the 17-year-olds eyes widen as the backed away from the scene slowly.

"Now that I've got your attention! Since you decided to be so damn narcissistic, Joey's dead!" Melaina informed making her half-sisters look up and notice the bloodstains on her clothing.

"Wha...what do you mean he's dead?" Hippolyta stuttered, by now her friends had decided it was best to just leave the Dumont home and just go home.

"I MEAN HIS BODY IS IN THE FREAKING MORGUE! That type of dead. And it's your fault." She paused when she took a breath. "You know, you can't keep on blaming me for mom leaving. It's not my damn fault. SO STOP BLAMING ME!" Laine finished before rushing upstairs.

END OF FLASHBACK
PRESENT DAY

Those were the last words Melaina had said to Hippolyta who had gotten grounded that same night and car keys taken away.

Ever since the accident the only person who could get Josephine to talk was her mom. The two Zarick women had been talking and had decided that Denise was going to look for a place out of Blue Valley and would come back for her. This was also a good time for both women to think about their lives after Blue Valley.

In that week the two best friends had stayed home and were comforting and mourning the loss of their friend. They hadn't gone to school but have left the house only to go for walks or to meet up with Cameron at Richie's.

Josie's migraines were getting worse. She had told Molly about them but as far as Melaina and her mother knew, they had gone. Molly knew exactly what was happening with the girl, it was only a matter of time before they came out.

Josie and Melaina had decided to go back to school today but Josie had to leave early to go for her Therapy session.

✦✧✦✧

Josie got up, showered and changed into a white t-shirt which she tucked into a pair of grey sweatpants, white sneakers and a grey fluffy teddy coat. Melania changed into black jeans, a black shirt with a grey jersey over it which was tucked into the jeans and a pair of black ankle boots.

The two girls gave each other their morning hug and responded to texts from people that had been checking up on them.

Josie had particularly grown close to the new girl who had spent the day with them last weekend when they went for a walk around Blue Valley and later came home and watched a movie. Melaina was happy that she was making more friends.

✦✧✦✧

The school day had gone smoother than expected. Melaina and Josie's teachers had extended their deadlines due to the situation they were in.
Melaina had decided to walk home to clear her thoughts. She asked Courtney if they wanted to walk home together since they lived close to each other.

"So...how's Josie? " Courtney asked the curly-haired girl.

"She's good. So I noticed you two are getting close." Lainie said slyly as she nudged Courtney with her elbow.

"Really?" She chuckled slightly.

"Yes, come on. I see something going on between the two of you. " Lainie teased making the blonde smile and shrug her shoulders.

"There's nothing going on...I think."

"That's what they all say. But seriously speaking, she likes having you around so feel free to come over whenever. Just text first." Melaina insisted making the girl nodded in agreement.

The two passed my Richies to get Josie some food before walking down to their neighbourhood and going to their separate homes.

What they didn't know was what had happened to Josie during that Therapy session would change everything.
