Alya waited on the stairs for Nino to come out of the school. She watched as Marinette waved at her and started walking away.

But not too far away, Luka had to show up. Alya clenched a fist, but released it. She had no right to be mad right away.

She walked a little closer to them, and listened. Then she got out her phone.

Just in case Luka is going to ask her out or something, I'll record it and send it to Adrien. Then I'll see his reaction.

"Hey Luka. Why are you here?" Marinette asked, remembering that Luka didn't go to this school.

"I wanted to walk you home," Luka smiled at her. A few feet away, he noticed Alya, but decided to ignore her. "And plus, I wanted to ask you a question."

Marinette held unto her bag, her heart beating fast. "Okay, what is it?"

Alya gulped as the next question came. "Are you free tonight?" She already knew Luka was asking her out on a date.

"Yeah," Marinette nodded. Alya didn't know if her eyes were fooling her, but Marinette seemed to have a huge smile.

Does Marinette really like him?

"I thought maybe we could go out for dinner, that is if you want." He added the last part so quickly. Alya closed and re-opened her eyes. Was this another bad dream of hers?

She stopped recording and decided to send her a little message.

Marinette, hearing her phone beep, took it out before she could answer Luka's question.

Unknown - say no.

Marinette bit her lips at the message. There was no way she could bring herself to rejecting Luka, and maybe because some part of her actually wanted to go.

Unknown - don't forget about Adrien, or has your crush on him died? People don't give up on their crush that fast, you know.

Marinette gulped again. She turned to look up at Luka, who was still waiting.

"Um, I don't think I can make it," The words came out so soft and slow. She wasn't going to regret this, right? "I mean, you know I already have someone else, right?"

Luka nodded. "I'm just surprised that you still have a crush on him even after everyone is saying that he's dating Kagami."

Marinette frowned. That's just a rumour, right?

Alya would have felt glad, but some part of her felt guilty and disturbed. What if Marinette started regretting ever rejecting Luka. What if she really did forget about Adrien?

She sighed and stood up. Finally she caught sight of Nino and ran to him.

Four hands are better and faster than two, right?

She wasn't going to tell him. She didn't want to tell anyone about the secrets of her two friends, even if she was dying to tell someone.

"Hey Alya," Nino waved at her, then turned. "Is that Marinette and Luka?"

Suddenly Alya heard a flash. She whirled around, just in time to see Chloe running away.

She did something, and I can tell she's up to no good.

"Hey Adri-kins, what are you thinking about?" Chloe smirked, her phone clutched in her hands.

Adrien was looking down at his phone, and looked up. "Chloe, can you... Stop calling me that?"

"Stop calling you what?" Chloe frowned. "You mean Adri-kins?"

"Where do you even come up with these?!" Adrien snapped. He had decided... If he was to ever find a girlfriend, he didn't want Chloe calling him that. Plus, he also needed to get rid of the rumour that had been going on around.

"You're thinking of her, right?" Chloe growled. "You're thinking about Marinette, aren't you?"

"Why are you saying that?" Adrien huffed. He didn't want to think about Marinette right now, or else it made him feel more guilty.

"Well, sorry to tell you this, but your little crush already has a boyfriend!" Chloe exclaimed and she held out her phone. On the screen was a picture of Marinette and Luka. "I heard Luka ask her out. And Marinette said yes."

The truth was that Marinette didn't say yes, but Chloe was so sure that Marinette was his crush, and she didn't want that. She wanted Adrien to forget about her.

Adrien gulped, remembering all those times Alya had told him he had regret it. He still didn't understand, but somehow he felt angry at the picture he was seeing.

If you're in love with Ladybug, then I assure you that Marinette is no different.

Unless you're only in love with the mask, that is...

That was the message that had been getting to him. What did that even mean? Why was Alya telling him to like Marinette, or else it would be too late?

If you're in love with Ladybug, then I assure you that Marinette is no different.

"What?" Chloe frowned. "You've been quiet for a while now. Is Marinette dating another guy getting to you?"

To be honest, Chloe hadn't expected this reaction from him. She expected him to say something like whatever, Marinette is just a friend, like he always did.

"So... Then you really do like Marinette?" She put her phone away. "Well, you better forget her, because she's already got someone else, and I assure you, she is so in love with Luka!" And she walked off.

No, that's not true! I don't like Marinette in that way! She's just a f-f-f-

He looked back down at his phone, which had the photo of Ladybug. Nobody knew he liked Ladybug, but maybe it was better that way.

And maybe it was a good thing Marinette had got another guy. That way he wouldn't feel so guilty for rejecting her feelings.

Standing up, he started waking over to his limo that had just pulled over. He went in and the limo started moving.

Just as Chloe had said, he could see Luka and Marinette together. He tried not to look at them, but he couldn't help staring at the two possibly couples.

Adrien, why are you even thinking about those two. Just forget it. Be happy that you're going to be meeting Ladybug for patrol.

At least he would be able to see his lady again.

- at patrol -

"How come you were late?" Chat Noir finally looked up. There in front of him, the superhero of Paris, his lady, the love of his life.

Ladybug shrugged. She didn't want to mention what she was doing, why she was late.

Chat sighed. After their last akuma, he hadn't felt the need to talk to Ladybug. It felt like the last piece of his heart had finally been broken and shattered. It pained him to hear her say she had another boy all over again.

"I'll... Go that way," Ladybug pointed. It didn't look like she wanted to talk to him either. "You go the other way."

Chat nodded. "Wait, can you tell me what's wrong?"

Why are you asking her that? You can obviously tell that she doesn't want to talk to you because she's uncomfortable when it comes to you.

"I just feel a bit stressed," Ladybug looked down. "Can I trust you to keep it a secret in what I'm about to say?"

Chat quickly nodded. Maybe Ladybug would finally tell him the name of the boy she was interested in.

"The boy I like... I heard he was already dating someone else," Ladybug didn't lift her head up. She didn't think Chat would want to hear this, but maybe deep inside him, he was glad that her crush didn't work out.

"Oh, I'm sorry," He muttered. He really did feel bad for her, because this was how he felt when he heard she already liked another boy. But he couldn't help exclaiming one word in his head.

Good!

"Yeah..."

"Will you tell me who he is?" He asked, not the first time, but this might perhaps just be the last time.

Ladybug shook her head. "I can't, remember?"

"So, why are you telling me this?" He blurted. He shouldn't have felt mad, or upset. He was already used to this, but why was he so upset just hearing this.

"I just needed a friend to talk to."

There goes that word again. Is this how Marinette felt when he called her just a friend? Did she feel just as heartbroken? Did she wish that he would give her all the attentions?

He clenched his fist.

"Whatever." And he extended his baton, but before he could fly off, Ladybug stopped him.

"Chat Noir, wait! Don't be so upset. I'm sorry." Chat could only stop but turn away from her. "I'm sorry that before, I didn't take your feelings in seriously. Sorry if anything I said hurt you. Okay, I'm sorry! But you really are the only friend I can rely on when I'm Ladybug."

He gulped and turned to her.

Stupid! Stupid! Why am I just always so stupid! I make the stupidest choices ever!

"Well, now you know," He muttered. "Still going to reject me? Tell me you already have another guy? That you don't like me that way?"

Ladybug didn't speak for a while, so he stayed quiet as well.

"I... Think we better get back to patrol."

You don't even answer my questions! Why do you always try to avoid them?!

"Yeah, we should!" This time when he started to leave, Ladybug didn't stop him. Instead she watched him go, before she took off herself.
