✶ author's note ␥ finally up rahhh, we're going to pretend that it hasn't been almost a month since the first deadline... whoops. hopefully it was worth the wait, put my blood, sweat and TEARS into these graphics, it's not even funny. just a few things to note rq! as usual, opinions won't be required for this, i've put space for it in case anyone wants to but i don't expect anyone to! however, you do have to create character conns, and that will be mainly done on discord (a new server invite link will be sent soon after this, just for organisation purposes! you will also find a 'character ranking' at the bottom of this page which you do have to fill out, which is just ranking every character from who they get along with the most to the least from your character's pov. no need to explain it, although it's helpful to indicate whether they actually hate people 11 through 14, for example, or if it's just apathy. since opinions aren't required, this is just so i know who gets along with who when it comes to character interactions! this is due by the 8th. also, 'heaven's slot has been replaced by 'people watching', but the conns from 'heaven' remain the same, it's just to do with the new character being added who's linked to him (whose form will be up later today). that's the only other thing to note really, everything else will be conveyed through discord :)

❛ She's the GOLDEN GIRL here, you heard? Eurydice Calypso Rome. Yeah, that Eurydice. If you don't know her, you're probably living under a rock. Everyone knows her—she's like, everywhere. And not just 'cause she's popular, though she totally is. It's because she's cool, you know? Smart, always in the top of her class, but somehow never stressed. The type of person you want to be around—hell, the type of person you want to be. She's just got that vibe. Oh, and she's gorgeous, obviously. Walks around here like she's floating or something. But don't get it twisted, newbie, if you step on one of her friends, trust me, you'll know what cold really feels like. Once her and Cher blew up? God, you had to be there. Otherwise though? She's nice, approachable, all that stuff. But for me, the real kicker is that she's not afraid to show her flaws either, it makes her look ten times more confident. There was this one time during a cheer practice when she messed up a flip—totally uncharacteristic for her. She was off her game that day, but instead of sulking or making excuses, she just shrugged it off and bandaged up the bruises, smiling like it didn't even matter. Everyone else was freaking out, but she just said 'You win some, you lose some', like it was no big deal. And guess what? She's cheer captain this year, confidence pays off, huh? She makes it look easy, but don't go get a big head and try to be like her, no one can do it like Eurydice Rome. So yeah, she's kind of the full package. The IT girl, but so much more than just a pretty face. She's just... Eurydice. No one else here is like her. ❜

❛ Who, Max? He's something of a RENOWNED ROCKSTAR, or at least, he thinks he is. You know the type—loud, reckless... completely unbothered by what anyone thinks. I've seen him pull some crazy stunts and he laughs it off like it's nothing. Seriously, he's like one of those nightmare bad boys parents warn you about, stay away from him or he'll corrupt you, right? But that's exactly what some people love about him. Once, during practice, some girls were talking smack about him thinking he couldn't hear them through his helmet. Classic, right? But Max—he's got a way of turning things around. He 'accidentally' bumps into the plexiglass right in front of them, flashing that grin of his like he didn't just scare them half to death. Said something like 'Sorry, ladies!', but you know, he wasn't sorry at all. Yeah, maybe he's a bit of a jock, but he'd rather die than be labeled as one. And so he's not winning any 'Nice Guy' awards, but when the party needs a kick, guess who they call? Max, obviously. Love him or hate him, everyone knows who he is. He entertains relationships too so he has his niche fanbase, especially the ones with blonde hair and blue eyes—he's got a type, trust me. But yeah, his reputation definitely precedes him. Some people are drawn to that whole delinquent vibe, others steer clear like he's radioactive. But... he's a walking contradiction, really. Sharp as ice, but somehow stuck in this self-destructive loop, like he knows he's got issues but can't be bothered to fix them. At least he has Cass, you'd think those two were tethered to one another in red string the way they stick together.❜

❛ Look, I get that you're new or whatever, but you have to know who Cassius is. I mean, who doesn't? He's the GOLDEN BOY to Eurydice's Golden Girl, and has been the most popular guy around since we were kids, I think he was born smiling. Being the mayor's son might add to his fame, but it's not all there is to it, Cass just has this way about him that attracts people. You wanted him to pick you for dodgeball during recess, and you definitely wanted to be his partner for class projects, even if you knew he wasn't going to be much help. He's always been that kid everybody likes. I remember one time in elementary school when Mr. Harris, our teacher, tripped and spilled coffee all over his shirt. It was super awkward, and most people just sat there not knowing what to do, but not Cass. He jumped up, grabbed a bunch of napkins and helped him clean up while cracking jokes to make our teacher laugh. By the end of it, Mr. Harris was smiling again and everything was back to normal. That's just how Cassius is, he can turn around a bad situation without even trying. He's friends with everyone, I've seen him chatting with the jocks in the locker room, then heading over to the auditorium to mess around with the drama club, and later on, going down to cheer practice to cheer his friends on. He cheers the cheerers, do you realize how crazy that is? One thing about Cassius though... he's pretty vain. The guy carries a compact mirror everywhere he goes! He'll be mid-conversation and just casually he'll pull out the mirror to check himself. But, hey, if you looked like him, you'd probably do the same, right? Shit, you can't even gossip about him properly, he's just too likeable. ❜

Cher's reputation around school is complicated, to say the least. Everyone knows her, but it's hard to say many people genuinely like her, other than Emily and a handful of other people. Most people think she's catty, mean, and just downright vicious... but, what's weird is there was a time where she was just as adored as Eurydice, believe it or not. Things changed after her mother passed, but don't you dare suggest that's the reason behind her being the way she is, one kid said that to her face once and... he's no longer with us. No, he's not dead, idiot! He moved schools. Anyway, Cher's stunningly beautiful, even if she could get away with murder. She looks like she walked straight out of a fashion magazine. She has the outfits to match too, her dad is loaded, and she's always had everything she wanted. Almost everything. But yeah, Cher rules by fear. And when I say rules, I mean rules, you'd think the prom queen title was a mandate to lord over us at this point... one thing to note? Don't ever think about crossing her when it comes to the prom queen title. If Eurydice ever won, Cher would probably jump on stage and rip the crown right off her head, no joke. Don't ask me why she's like this, I don't know, all I know is she feels things very deeply, mostly negative stuff, like anger, or sadness disguised as anger. She seems stubborn though, if I had to guess, Emily's probably the only person who could break through to her... I can't see her ever going back to the days when she was nice to be around, personally. Right, even just saying Cher's name is giving me paranoia, can we quickly move onto someone else? ❜

❛ Oh man, if you've been at Glenmore High for even a week, you've probably heard of Sylas, a WALKING HEARTBREAK. He knows everyone and their dog, and he'll talk to anyone who'll listen. I remember the first time I met him when he moved here, he was doing this ridiculous stunt trying to hop from one picnic table to another during lunch break, everyone laughing and cheering him on. Of course, he ended up face-planting into the grass. It sounds crazy, but it's classic Sylas, you'd never guess that he dated Cher. Then again, he is the king of heartache. I've seen it happen more times than I can count. He'll start chatting with someone, and everything is great, but then—bam!—he's accidentally led them on, and next thing you know, he's confused why his tires keep getting slashed. It's almost like clockwork. Despite all the heartbreak, he has this charm that's hard to resist, this laugh that makes you feel like everything's going to be okay. I swear, even when he's just talking about the weather, he somehow makes it sound exciting. It's honestly hilarious that he's a hopeless romantic at heart too, given his track record... he's been known to make grand gestures, so I guess it's no surprise why people fall for him, eh? You know, you can't be too harsh on him, he's a good dude. Generous and hardworking—when he's passionate about something, otherwise he's so unbothered that you'd think he's gone on autopilot. So yeah, Sylas has this talent for making life a little more interesting, if you need to find him, you only have to follow the trail of broken hearts. He's the guy you want around when you need a pick-me-up or some spontaneous fun, but maybe not the best choice for a serious relationship, unless you're up for a rollercoaster ride.❜

❛ You might not have spoken to him, but you've definitely seen him around. It's easy to stereotype him as the QUINTESSENTIAL QUARTERBACK, but you know, there's a little more to him than that. I've never seen someone juggle so many roles and still manage to be so chill about it. He has this way of making everyone feel at ease, you know? This natural charisma that makes him think you've known him for years, even if you've just met him. I remember one time at Jack's, he was serving at the counter, and a couple of us were joking about the ridiculousness of highschool drama. He just leaned on the counter, started spinning a pen, and threw in these perfectly timed quips. It's subtle though, and even if he seems like the cliché of a jock, he's not the flashy, self-centered type, reliability is probably what defines him most. He's always got a million things on his plate, but if you give him a shout, he'll add one more thing without breaking a sweat. His grades suffer, admittedly, but not everyone can do it all. I thought that break-up with Penny might finally get him to take a breather but he's just busier than ever now. What's with all these couple break-ups anyway? Must be something in the air this summer. Well, regardless, don't take it to heart if Colt doesn't pick up on any subtle cues or signals you give him, he's so wrapped up in his own schedule that he can be pretty out of touch with other people's needs. Just be direct, and you'll be just fine. Oh and... don't bring up Max, for your sanity and his, he actually mentioned last week that he was seriously considering putting up a 'No French People Named Maximilian Fournier Allowed' sign at Jack's, the fact Max and Cassius are tighter than anything seemed to be the only thing making him second guess. ❜

❛ Emily... hm, I don't really know what to say about her. I think I heard the term QUEEN OF THE WAVES being thrown around by someone, but I'm pretty sure it was just a few people... it hasn't really caught on. If you ask me? Emily's a ditz. I don't mean this in a horrible way! She's bubbly, it's infectious, but hear me out first. She's one of those people who's just everywhere and nowhere all at once. You know what I mean? She's always around, but she's just in her own little world. In history class the teacher was talking about the Great Wall of China, and Emily goes and asks 'How does the wall not get easily broken if it's made of China?'. It's the silly little things like that. And oh God, she's so clumsy. Like, you can't make this stuff up. Last week, she was carrying a stack of books down the hall, Stanley in hand of course, and she tripped over her own feet and ended up spilling everything. It was like a slow-motion disaster. She just looked up, giggled, and said 'Oopsie!', and everyone around her just shakes their heads because it's classic Emily, apart from Colton and Cass who go help her up. Good thing Cher wasn't there, she would've pitched a fit at everyone else for standing there doing nothing. Emily is genuinely a kind-hearted person though. One time, she tried to give a motivational speech at lunch, it was all over the place—she started talking about jellyfish and sea turtles and somehow ended on how important it is to believe in yourself. I'm pretty sure half the cafeteria was just trying not to laugh, but she was so earnest about it, you couldn't help but appreciate her effort. So, you know, she's kind of a basic white girl, is what most people say. You can easily forget about her until you realize she's right behind you. But... she makes people smile, you might not get her, but you can't say she isn't a ray of sunshine, and a talented surfer. Queen of the Waves indeed.❜

❛ Yeah that's right, Dane's one of two candidates running for student prez. He's like, the CLASSIC GENTLEMAN, I don't know how else to put it, he's straight out of a book. He's the kind of guy who has his act together, super smart, straight-A's smart, like he was born with a textbook in his hand. He's always winning awards or getting praised for something academic, and he has this whole romantic, old-fashioned charm about him. His ex, Celine? According to her, his dinners are Michelin-star worthy, and Colt's said the same. And you know, he's always aiming for perfection, so you can count on him to handle any important task. The first time I saw him he was having this on-stage debate with Rosalína, and for sure, he's an impressive public speaker. It's ironic though, because when it comes to expressing how much he cares about someone, he's totally different. I accidentally overheard him trying to tell his girlfriend how much she means to him once—you could tell that's what he was going for—but he kept hesitating. Never got round to it. Still though, I don't suppose you need to be good at expressing how much you care for people verbally as a candidate for student president. He's a pretty solid choice... I don't really know who to vote this year. He's got this gentle, patient demeanor that really works well in leadership roles, the kind of guy who will listen to everyone's concerns and actually try to do something about them. He's a stand-up guy, a real gentleman, like the reverse of Max or something. Which is pretty funny, because apparently Max is very vocal about voting for Dane for student president. Who would've thought? He's a good choice though, a heart of gold and a head that's pretty much always in the right place. ❜

❛ Penelope Heathcliff? Funny that you ask, most people aren't that interested in her, she always seems to be in her own world. See, I'd describe her like a FALLEN ANGEL, there's just something about her I can't quite place. For the most part, she flies under the radar. You know, the quiet, bookish type? I mean, she's sweet and all, but a lot of people don't get to see the full picture, they just see her as the 'nice girl' who's always polite and doesn't say much. I was assigned to a group project with her once, and it really surprised me to see this amazing analysis she did of Wuthering Heights, it was just so thoughtful that it sticks out in my head. She doesn't flaunt her intelligence, not at all, but when you get her talking about something she's passionate about, you can see how insightful she is, underneath the unassuming front. She's been through a lot, though, her dad passed away a few years ago, and I think that really must've changed her, because you can tell she used to be more vibrant before. You can mistake her silence for aloofness, but if you ask me, it's really just her way of being careful with her heart. Once you get past that initial shyness, you realize how thoughtful and compassionate she is—she's like this hidden gem that not everyone takes the time to uncover, but once you do, you see how special she really is. Just don't bring her name up in front of Cher, she torments the poor girl, they're step sisters, you know. I really can't imagine how awkward it must be in that household, it's probably like a ticking time bomb, you just have to send thoughts and prayers and hope Penelope makes it out in one piece. ❜

❛ See... I don't know too much about Declan, he only moved here recently. He's one hell of an ENIGMATIC PARADOX, to be frank. He's the new Australian guy, and everyone kind of knows who he is, but I wouldn't say everyone really knows him, other than Sylas. When he first moved here, there were all these rumors about why he left his last school—private school, you know. I don't know what's true and what's not, over time people slowly began to forget, but it still follows him around a bit. He's definitely not the most popular guy around here, a lot of people find him a bit odd. I remember this one time, he tried to join our conversation, and he made this joke about kangaroos in Australia that fell flat—like, super awkwardly flat. It was one of those moments where everyone looked around, unsure of what to do next, and Declan slowly backed out of the conversation. No, literally, he physically started to reverse. It was painful to watch, honestly. But here's the thing, from what I've heard from Sylas? Declan's a really nice guy, he just struggles with the social stuff. He has this dry, irreverent sense of humor that can be hit or miss, but when he's comfortable, apparently he's pretty interesting and great at giving advice. If I had to say anything about Declan? It's that he seems like a free spirit, known for doing his own thing, even if it's not always what everyone else is doing. He'll wander off to places he's not supposed to go, or ignore warnings just because he feels like it. He's got that rebellious streak, and it seems to be about finding his own way and being comfortable with who he is, even if it means being a bit unconventional. So yeah, Declan might seem a bit weird or distant at first, but slowly but surely, he's growing on people. If you take the time to know him, it seems like he'd actually be pretty solid. ❛ I've been waiting to tell you about Rosalía, 'cause wow is she a wildcard. She's a total whirlwind of a person, a FEARLESS LEADER, and there's a lot more to her than meets the eye. You know she's running for student president, right? Well, her reputation is a bit of a mixed bag. Well loved by the student body, but the teachers? If they had it their way, Dane would be student president in a heartbeat, because she's a complete troublemaker. I remember this one time in history class a while back, she had this epic debate with Mr. Thompson, who was going on about some old-school perspective on history, and she wasn't having any of it. She wasn't disrespectful really, just very assertive, and you could see the veins in his forehead bulging. Everyone was just sitting there trying not to laugh, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire. Us students though? We love her, it's a completely different ballgame. She's so unapologetically herself, and even if she's been in detention a bunch, she's got the grades and the smarts, and this sense of justice that's hard to find. If she feels something's wrong, she's going to say so, no questions asked, and she's quick on her feet and knows how to handle tricky situations, probably why she's such a strong candidate for student president. One thing that always makes me laugh is how she's got this tough exterior but she's actually really soft on the inside, it's almost comical. She's not into the whole affection thing, but you can tell she cares deeply about her close friends. So that's Rosalía Rivera—wild, free-spirited, and fiercely independent. Love her or hate her, you can't ignore her. ❜

❛ Ah, Dawson, our RESIDENT OUTLAW, and who's surprised? He's not Rosalía's partner in crime for nothing. And I mean crime literally, which makes no sense given his father is the sheriff, but actually, maybe that makes all the more sense. Corruption my friend, or on a realer note, just a dad putting up with his son's mischief-making. Dawson's carving out his own identity, you can tell, he's trying to escape his father's reputation, and to be honest? He's doing a pretty good job at it. I mean, when someone says 'Dawson', no one's thinking some goody-two-shoes sheriff's son. They're thinking of the guy who comes pelting down the street on horseback, or who set the science lab on fire, who knows if it was intentional or not. He might not have the beer aspect down, but you can catch him smoking on the rooftop, and he's got that fire in him that you can sense from a mile away. He and Helena had to be the wildest couple in all of Glenmore, but honestly, it was entertaining to watch, no one does entertainment like those two. Dawson embodies the spirit of rebellion like no one else, and his way of getting into—and out of—trouble, is matched only by his uncanny ability to make every escapade look like a grand adventure. He walks a fine line between daring and reckless, you can't help but root for him, because in the end, Dawson is a testament to living life with a bit of fire, a bit of mischief, and a whole lot of heart. ❜

❛ You know, Helena Ivelle Bardot is one of those people who you hear about long before you meet her. A real DRAMA QUEEN, but not the way you'd expect. When you finally do meet her, you're both amazed and relieved because, yup, she's everything people say and more. People initially think of her as the bitchy theatre kid who's only there to push other people down to make herself look better, think Sharpay. That's a misleading perception though—most of Glenmore sees Helena as a flirt, but each play or jest of hers is as though it were built for an audience. She's one of the most popular people in school, as you'd expect of someone who Eurydice keeps close. She's a real talent when it comes to theatre, but with Helena, it's as though the curtains never close, like she never really gets out of that theatre headspace. It's like she plays off of other people's emotions too, making you her unwilling costar whether you like it or not. She plays all these different parts—the crazy girlfriend, the over-the-top best friend, and she plays each one so perfectly that I'm not even sure if one is the real her, or if it's all pretense. In a strange way, Helena, who seems like one of the most open students in the school, unhinged enough to do whatever she feels like in any given situation, is one of the people you know the least about. You ask yourself if you really know anything about her and you're kind of left with nothing, unless you're close enough to her. You know as much about Helena as you do about your favorite actress, and I think that's her goal, honestly. She was built for the gilded screen—she's just starting early. ❜

❛ I pride myself on having all the intel on Glenmore's students, you know? But I can safely say I know very little about Soren, the so-called TEEN DAD in town. He's as new as you, all I have to work with are rumors... and for someone new to town, there's an awful lot of them. First off, that kid he lives with, about three years old, named Wyatt if neighbors overhearing idle talk is anything to go off of, is he his? Who can say for sure, other than Sylas, the person who he seems the closest to currently. Soren made his mark on Rosewood early on in his stay, and not in the positive way. Breaking the milkman's nephew's nose publicly and proceeding to kick him in the side doesn't make for a great first impression, does it? Then there's the fact he's the local celebrity... the child of a famous actress and a world-renowned footballer who never stepped up to the role of being a father. It seemed his son did. Other than a collection of whispers from third parties, there is very little to go off of to discern what kind of a person Soren is. There's the facts: an amateur boxer from London, someone looking after a toddler, someone from wealth... and there's not much else. Guess only time will tell how he fits into our little town, and how you familiarize yourself with the characters that inhabit it. ❜
