It was now or never, Bakugo rationalized. He had to ask you to marry him now... at the scene of a villain attack... with police officers, EMTs, members of the press, and a few other heroes surrounding you. Was he really going to do this? Was he really going to make this the story you'd tell your children--your grandchildren? This was not at all what he had pictured, not even close.

He thought back to what Kirishima told him: "It doesn't matter how you ask her, the only thing that matters is that you ask her." His best friend was right, he had to ask you now. If he didn't, Bakugo knew he would never be satisfied with the situation, and therefore would never actually ask you to marry him.

"What did you have to tell me?" You asked, bringing Bakugo out of his daze. He cleared his throat and swallowed harshly. He was nervous, which was rare. With both of his hands in yours, he dropped down on one knee. He was really doing this, huh?

You were shocked at how one simple movement could radically shatter every single thought and feeling you had. What was he doing? You thought he was against marriage, he said so himself. What was going on?

"(Y/n), I've known you for my entire life and I can't imagine it without you, dumbass," Bakugo began, a small smirk on his face. "For the past month or somethin' I've been trying to ask you something really important. Every time I've tried, it got ruined somehow and I kept putting it off to try and wait for the perfect situation, but I realized something..." Bakugo was nearly rambling at this point, not thinking beforehand about what he was going to say. He knew he had to get it all out somehow.

"It doesn't matter how I ask you this," Bakugo said. "The only thing that matters is that I actually ask your stupid ass to marry me!" You felt warm tears drift down your cheeks as you finally realized what he was doing. You laughed, a grin spreading across your face.

"Katsuki..." You muttered, not knowing what else to say. The two of you had not even realized that you drew somewhat of a crowd. Someone from a news channel was recording the event, and the officers were all giddy and waiting for you to speak. You had a hard time comprehending the situation, let alone getting a coherent sentence out.

"(Y/n) (L/n), will you marry me?"

"Yes!" You exclaimed and flung yourself at your new fiance. "I will marry the living hell out of you, Katsuki!" He wrapped his arms around you as you cried tears of joy and kissed his face. At the moment, it didn't matter that you were sweaty, messy, and beaten up. The love of your life had asked you to marry him, how could you possibly care about anything else?

"I love you so much," You said, repeating yourself a dozen times.

"Sorry, it took so long," Bakugo mumbled and you laughed.

"Katuski... you could have asked me in a dumpster at two in the morning, covered in dirt, and I would've said yes anyway," You cried and kissed him again.

"I just wanted to wait for the perfect situation, because I know that's what you deserve," Bakugo admitted, resting his forehead against yours.

"You never had to wait for this perfect situation, I love you no matter what." Bakugo pulled you close, grabbed the sides of your face, and kissed you passionately. Your hands wound into his ash-blond hair as you smiled into the kiss. In actuality, maybe this was the perfect situation.

"Get your ass off the ground, Katsuki, we've got a wedding to plan," You said, standing up and still holding his hands.

"Fuck yeah we do!"
