We have a great time celebrating after my Galar League victory. Everyone in my class goes wild when they hear about my win against Leon. Of course, my two girlfriends, Alice and Serena, are also cheering for me, and I really appreciate their support.

Now, Flora and Helen are heading back to the Kalos Region, while Gloria and Victor decide to work on Poke Jobs, with Hop helping out. The three of us find ourselves on Route 2 because Professor Magnolia wants to meet us.

"Congratulations, Champion, Here, I've got a little something for you as celebration." Magnolia says as she hands us a Master Ball, which I believe is the eighth one I've received. "Thanks," I respond.

"After everything you have achieved, it's really the least I could do. The Wishing Stars that make Dynamaxing possible are parts of Eternatus. When Eternatus was awakened, Dynamax energy flooded the entire region, causing Dynamax Pokémon to pop up all over and causing trouble throughout Galar. But you came to our rescue. The Dynamax phenomenon has long been an important part of Galarian culture. I hope everyone will use the power of Dynamaxing correctly in the days to come. So, young Ash, Alice, and Serena, please do what you believe is best."

"We will," we nod before leaving the house. We decide to head to the Slumbering Weald to return the Rusted Sword and Rusted Shield. Alice remarks, "Nobody ever comes in here, since this is the forest where Zacian and Zamazenta rested. It's the best place to do some thinking since it's so quiet and peaceful."

"Yeah," I agree, "And it's thanks to Zacian and Zamazenta that we were able to stop the Darkest Day. And Eternatus... it helped us prevent something terrible from happening in the battle against Leon..."

"And if it isn't the three of you again. I was wondering what all the noise was about," Sonia remarks as she shows up in front of us. I respond, "Hey, Sonia."

"Ash! Congratulations on beating Leon!" Sonia exclaims.

"Thanks. I couldn't have done it without Pikachu," I say, while Pikachu enjoys the affection I'm giving him.

"Taking it all in stride like it's your due, eh? You cheeky thing!" Sonia says with a smile.

Serena inquires, "What are you doing here, Sonia? Don't you have your Professor duties now that you've become one yourself?"

Sonia explains, "And I've got the two of you to thank for that, Ash and Alice. I was just along for the ride on your adventure, but I ended up taking a real interest in the history of the Galar region. And I came to care for Pokémon even more than I ever had before!"

She hands me a book and says, "Ah, here! It's a book I wrote! I even signed it—that makes it a collector's item."

"Wow... a book..." Alice says in amazement.

"I've got my gran's blessing and put out my first book under my own name... I think you can expect great things from the lovely Professor Sonia in the future, wouldn't you say?" Sonia adds with enthusiasm.

"I think so," I reply.

Sonia then asks, "So? What are you young'ns doing here?" Before we can answer, she continues, "Ohhh... That's it, isn't it? You were putting the Rusted Sword and the Rusted Shield back in their place? Can't just keep holding onto them forever, right?"

"Well, that's why we were called here," I explain. "And we also wanted to see if we can find Zacian and Zamazenta again."

As we carefully place the items on the ground, I say, "Zacian! Zamazenta! Thank you for helping us out. It took us a while, but we've brought back your precious relics to you."

Just as we are about to leave, Alice inquires, "What're you gonna do, Sonia?"

Sonia replies, "I think I'll stay a bit longer. I want to do a little more research here in the forest." She then takes out the Power Spot Detector and adds, "Hm? My Power Spot Detector is going off..."

"Well, well, well... I thought I heard someone making some noise over this way!" Two individuals approach us, and their hairstyles are a bit unusual, resembling a sword and shield.

"Well, well, well... You wouldn't happen to be Professor Sonia, the author of 'Galar: A History,' would you?" The other person asks.

Sonia seems surprised and responds, "Eh, ah, hello... You bought my book?"

"Why yes, of course! Read it from cover to cover!" the first one exclaims. "Why yes, of course! I even wrote an internet review for it! That awful book was filled with lies... So we gave it one star!" the second one adds.

"What?! There are no lies printed in that book!" Sonia retorts indignantly.

"Yeah, that was just plain rude, you know," Serena adds, echoing the sentiment.

I narrow my eyes and inquire, "And who are you anyway?"

"I am Sordward!" one of them declares.

"I am Shielbert!" the other chimes in.

"We are the new kings of Galar! We're descendants of the first kings!" Sordward boasts.

"More than that, we're celebrities!" Shielbert adds with a smug grin.

"Oh really? Why haven't we heard of you then?" Alice rolls her eyes in disbelief.

I provide some context, saying, "Well, that's probably because Galar is a constitutional monarchy, which means that the monarchy's powers are limited by a constitution, and the real political authority lies with elected officials. I also heard that the old king passed away about a week ago, and now two new kings have emerged. I assume that would be the two of you?"

"So you do know us," Sordward says before turning around and examining the items. "Well, well, well! Could these things here be the fabled sword and shield?"

"Well, well, well! They certainly are dirty! They must be fake! I fear to touch them with my bare hands," Shielbert remarks.

They make an attempt to take the items, prompting Serena to retort, "Hey! Don't go nicking those! We just returned them!"

"Oh, do shut up! We only happened to pick up some things that were dropped on the ground!" Sordward retorts.

"If you've got a problem with it, how about you prove to whom they belong, hmm?" Shielbert demands.

"But there's no way anyone can prove who those ancient things belong to! Even if we can't prove it, they're really important to Zacian and Zamazenta!" Alice argues back.

"Oh goodness. Such a plebeian, and yet so pushy. If it's really so important to you, perhaps we should settle this with a battle?" Sordward proposes.

"We're celebrities who buy battles for twice what they're worth!" Shielbert boasts.

I exchange a glance with Alice and Serena, and we nod in agreement. "Very well, if that's how you want to settle it, then let's battle," I say with determination.

Serena adds, "We won't back down from a challenge."

The battle unfolds, and the Pokémon Sordward uses include Sirfetch'd, Golisopod, Doublade, and Bisharp, while Shielbert deploys Sirfetch'd, Bronzong, Falinks, and Klinklang. Despite their confident claims, their Pokémon prove to be no match for ours, and one by one, they fall before our team's strength.

"Oh... How can this be?" Sordward gasps, his confidence shattered.

"My... my Pokémon..." Shielbert adds, his voice filled with disbelief. In their dismay, Shielbert accidentally drops the Rusted Sword, and we quickly pick it up, securing the legendary item.

"Tch! To somehow have defeated the adorable Pokémon I go strolling with... You're certainly strong," Sordward grumbles.

"However, we will be taking this even if there's only one. Now we're even," Shielbert says while holding the Rusted Shield. "Now that I realize, Older Brother! Aren't those the ones who stopped Eternatus?"

"Oho! Now that I look closely, I believe it is! What rude children, snatching up our chance at glory like that," Shielbert adds.

I interject, "Excuse me? Where were you when this was happening? If you had actually done something, then we wouldn't have had to intervene."

Ignoring my remark, Shielbert continues, "According to our sources... I believe they were also present during the destruction of the magnificent mural our ancestors so artfully created many years ago."

"What a garish brute! Destroying the mural our family has held in such high esteem for so long?" Sordward laments.

Sonia steps in, saying, "Mural? You mean the one that hid the historical ruins of Zacian and the others? And hold on a moment—Ash and Alice weren't the ones who destroyed it."

Shielbert and Sordward exchange glances and then Shielbert says, "Let us withdraw for now... Next time, we shall bring Pokémon that will utterly defeat you!"

"That's right! And with that, farewell!" Sordward adds, and they quickly rush off. "At least you're calm. I expected as much," Sonia says, looking at us.

"Right now, we have to figure out where those kings are heading," Serena suggests.

"Sordward and Shielbert, was it? I think I might know something about where those two weirdos went... Shall we go over it at the lab in Wedgehurst?" Sonia asks.

"Of course, let's head there," I agree.

"I bet I didn't even need to ask! Thanks!" Sonia says with a smile, and we all head to the Wedgehurst Lab to discuss the situation further and hopefully gather some information about Sordward and Shielbert's whereabouts.

As we enter the lab, we are surprised to see Sonia's new assistant. I inquire, "Who is this?"

Sonia explains, "She's my assistant! I've been so busy with research lately that I've had to bring on some extra help. I've been keeping all the Wishing Stars that Chairman Rose had been gathering here in the lab. Things have been a little hectic around here, but my assistant has been handling things in a proper fashion. She's really been helping me keep things afloat."

The assistant humbly responds, "I really haven't been doing all that much... You're Ash, the Champion, right? I'm really glad I get to meet you. It's an honor, truly."

Sonia then invites us upstairs, saying, "Come here for a moment, would you? There's something I want you to have a look at." However, I can't help but sense something off about the assistant, and a feeling of unease washes over me.

Sonia leads us to a machine and explains, "You remember my Power Spot Detector, right? It detects places where Dynamaxing is possible... Basically, when there's a high concentration of Galar particles, the readings spike... And that's how I figured it out! The Power Spot Detector reacted when those two got close."

"Could it be?" I ask with curiosity.

"Exactly! Follow the readings from the Power Spot Detector, and you might be able to find those sword and shield weirdos. Sordward and Shielbert might claim to be royalty, with their weird, fancy hairstyles. But it's easier to just call them weirdos, don't you think?" Sonia says.

Alice chimes in, "Though it is impolite considering they are the new kings... but royalty or not, if they commit a crime, prison is the only way for them to go. And we will have to find a new king to replace them."

Sonia refocuses the conversation, saying, "Let's get back on topic, though! I placed Power Spot Detectors all around Galar, and now it's their time to shine. Power Spot Detectors—access!" She presses a button, and to our surprise, the readings show a significant reaction in Turffield.

Sonia exclaims, "Whoa, whoa! That's a way bigger reaction than I would've thought! Looks like it's coming from... Turffield Stadium? You could always Dynamax Pokémon at the stadium, so that's not exactly unusual. But these readings are way higher than normal! It can't be Eternatus... You already caught it. Maybe it's something related to those sword and shield weirdos?"

With a sense of curiosity, I nod and say, "I don't know, maybe we should check it out." We make the decision to leave the lab and head to Turffield Stadium to investigate the unusual readings and hopefully get closer to finding Sordward and Shielbert.

Here is a new chapter, and we're beginning with the post game Legendary Sidequest. Sordward and Shielbert are now here and what are they going to do? I hope you like this chapter.
