On the way, we met a woman named Penelope who wanted to challenge me to a battle. She uses a Sylveon and I battle her with Froakie, only to lose because of a combo of Attract and Draining Kiss, leaving Froakie a little embarrassed and sulky for a while.

It turns out that Penelope is a teacher in the kindergarten, and she wants us to show our Pokemon to others so they can play with them. We also meet a boy named Randall, who has been afraid of touching Pokemon. But it is thanks to Froakie who helps him out, I'm not sure what he has done because we are busy spending some time with the others, but we're happy to see he's gotten over his fear of Pokémon, and he even announces his plans to become a Pokémon Trainer when he gets older.

And then we have a slight problem with Chespin, he has been a heavy eater and he's been chubby these days. When I have Fennekin and Froakie train with him, he is moving too slowly and is defeated with ease. Even Bonnie's Dedenne can beat him with a flash.

David offers to create a treadmill so that we can help Chespin lose weight, but in the process, we find that Chespin has gone missing. When we find him, we find that he's with an old lady named Carrie, she wants Chespin to help battling her husband Wylie's Delphox. Going up against a powerful Fire-type Pokémon scares Chespin, especially since its very full belly is still making it hard to battle.

After hearing Chespin's determination, I decide to step in and help him battle, and I decide to have him use a new move Rollout, which is super-effective against Rock Types, and that move also causes Chespin to lose its weight and more like its usual self. Wylie is about to unleash a powerful move, despite his wife's warnings—but in the midst of giving this dramatic order, he hurts his back. The battle is called to a draw, and Wylie and Carrie explain that the purpose of the battle was to settle an argument they had the day before. But it turns out Wylie already bought Carrie a lovely cake to apologize, and they decide to share it with us as thanks for our help.

And after that, we met a trainer named Lena and her little sister, Lyn. It seems Lyn and Bonnie have a lot in common: they're both too young to be Trainers, but they love taking care of their older siblings' Pokémon. They also carry identical bags, which leads to a mix-up: as they're leaving the Pokémon Center, Lyn accidentally picks up Bonnie's bag, and Bonnie takes Lyn's. The girls don't realize their mistake until they discover the wrong Pokémon inside: Lyn has ended up with Dedenne, and Bonnie is surprised to see a Pichu peering up at her.

We decide to search for the two siblings, only to find Lena, who says that her sister is also missing. We then try to use Pikachu's electricity and we find Lyn and Dedenne being chased by angry Beedrills. After we find each other, the girls trade bags again, reuniting Dedenne with Bonnie and Pichu with Lyn, and everyone settles in to have lunch together before we continue their journey.

Along a road, Froakie and I are training. I yell at Froakie, "I want you to face the rock and use Bubble!"

Froakie then fires a barrage of bubbles at a big rock, nearly destroying it. "Now use Water Pulse on the rock!" Then Froakie also uses Water Pulse to destroy the rock. "Yes."

"You still have much work to do!" A voice rang through the forest, causing us to stop what we are doing and look around.

"What was that?" David asks in confusion.

"Froakie! Use Frubble on the tree!" I say as Froakie does it, and the stranger, having been disguised to blend in with the tree, reveals himself as a ninja. "So you've found me, eh?"

"Wow! A ninja!" Bonnie exclaims. The ninja says, "Now, Ninja Leaf Shroud!" Then he disappears again.

Froakie notices rustling in a bush, and when it shoots its frubbles, they are shot back, not only that, a Froagider appears in front of us.

"A Frogadier... the evolution of Froakie..." Serena says.

After showing the speed, both the ninja and Froagdier stop in front of us and the ninja says, "I am Sanpei, a young and skillful ninja!"

"So you're a ninja?" Clemont asks.

"Incredible..." Serena says.

"My name is Ash! You've got a great partner there with Frogadier! How about a battle with my Froakie?" I ask.

"I've been looking for a suitable opponent for my Frogadier to battle against. But I have my doubts that your Froakie is powerful enough." Sanpei says.

"What? We won't know until we try, will we?" I say.

"Alright, then. I accept your challenge!" Sanpei says.

Froakie is incensed by the comment, and they begin with Froakie using Bubble, followed by Pound repeatedly, both of which Frogadier evades with its superior speed.

"Frogadier's quick..." I gasp at the speed, and then I say, "In that case, aim and use Water Pulse, let's go!"

Froakie shoots out the water ball but is deterred by Frogadier's Smokescreen, and the ninja's Pokémon temporarily vanishes.

"Where did Frogadier go?" Serena gasps.

"It's a ninja stealth skill." Sanpei says.

Froakie! Concentrate! Use your instinct! Water Pulse!" Froakie closes his eyes and then shoots out the Ball at the tree, but Froakie hits a decoy made by Frogadier, who jumps from behind it.

"Bubble and Water Pulse." Sanpei says.

Both Pokemon use the same attacks, but Froakie is overpowered. Frogadier counters Froakie's final Water Pulse with Quick Attack, and Froakie is hit, dodging too slowly.

David says, "I've never seen a Quick Attack like that before..."

"The battle is over. No one has ever withstood my Frogadier's Quick Attack and been able to continue battling."

But Froakie is back up, and as Sanpei uses a final Quick Attack to finish the battle, he realizes the Froakie cannot fight back. He yells, "Now! Ninja Leaf Shroud!"

After Froakie disappears, I'm showing concern as Sanpei brings it back to me. "It was already over. Froakie just wouldn't quit."

"Froakie... I hate to admit it, but we lost." I say.

As we're healing Froakie, Sanpei says, "Not only strategy, your Froakie still needs a lot more training. You completely misread the way our battle progressed and Froakie trusted its own power far more than it should have. You were fortunate Froakie didn't take more damage than it did."

He gives Froakie the remedy that's formulated with Energy Root, and after that's done, I say, "Hey, Sanpei. Please! Show me how you did it! In all the time I've been training, I've never seen a Quick Attack as amazing as the one Frogadier used in battle! So please teach my Froakie how to use it like that! You want to do it, don't you?"

Froakie nods and Sanpei says, "All right. But my training methods are very strict!"

"That's just fine with us." I say.

"So you know, when I train a Pokemon, I train them hard and I train hard along with them." Sanpei says.

"Yeah, I'm right with you! I'll train hard right along with Froakie!" I say as we go to an open field for our training.

"For the first lesson, for moves such as Quick Attack, the swift movements require muscle serving as springs." Sanpei says. "We will be doing the basic exercise."

"I think it's time for me to step up! You'd better prepare yourselves for this!" This causes the group to widen their eyes in horror. "Clemontic Gear on, I call this my Muscle Mass Magnifier Machine. I thought we'd encounter a situation precisely like this one!"

"Okay, so you put springs on your shoes." Bonnie says.

"Ah, but they're not normal springs! The basis of all exercise is increasing muscle strength. The strings I've equipped in these shoes multiply the power of your jumping by using your body weight in the process! Because of the added load of your body weight, they strengthen your leg muscles rapidly!"

But just as he tries to do it, the springs prove to be too strong and then Clemont is blasting off like Team Rocket. For some reason it feels weird without Team Rocket annoying us, but it is also a good thing.

"Training must proceed step by step! Frogadier, please demonstrate for them our basic training method." Sanpei says. Frogadier starts to hop left and right in place.

"So Froakie, can you keep up with Frogadier?" Sanpei asks.

"There's no better time for you to give it a try!" I say.

Froakie starts to hop as well, and Sanpei says, "I am always one with my Pokemon. Always!"

When we see Sanpei jumping, I decide to follow him as I also jump with him. After a while, we find that Froakie is starting to keep up the phase.

Now we're going to teach Froakie how to run on top of the water, Sanpei says, "Alright, Frogadier will show you how it's done."

Sanpei then snaps his fingers and Frogadiar takes off the edge and into the water, but he never sinks, instead, he runs all the way to the island. "I can't believe Frogadier really ran on water!" Elline says.

"Froakie! Now it's your turn to show them." Froakie tries to do it but sinks after a few seconds. Frogadier is laughing at him, and I say, "Now it's my turn!"

"Wait, are you sure? Not even I can do that." Sanpei says.

"Don't worry." I say while taking a deep breath, before I run past the water and go to the other side. "Unbelievable..." Everyone watches in disbelief.

"Froakie! Now you try." I say. "The trick is to move your feet quickly. Can you do that, Froakie?"

After a few more tries, Froakie still can't reach the island without sinking. Meanwhile, Frogadiar laughs at the attempts at his pre-evolution sinking into the water. Enraged by this Froakie then gets out of the water back on land, takes a running stance, and takes off as fast as it can.

"Feeling frustrated? Then use your frustration to get out there!" I encourage him along with the others. At last, Froakie makes it to the island without sinking and gloats at Frogadiar's face for underestimating it. Frogadiar just shrugs it off, believing it is all luck. This causes Froakie to be enraged once more.

Done with the first stages of training, we and Sanpei have lunch together, and he is amazed at our cooking. Once we are resting in the shade of a tree while staring up into the sky, I ask, "So Sanpei, that Ninja village you mentioned, is that your hometown?"

"That's right. It's also the home of my oldest brother, Ippei, who is by far the strongest man in Ninja Village. He's there with his Greninja. And there is my other brother Nihei, who lives in Ninja Village as well, with his Venusaur. My ultimate goal is to one day defeat both of my brothers and assume the title of the strongest ninja in Ninja village once and for all."

"So I guess you left Ninja Village so you could train, right?" I ask.

"Exactly, what about you, Ash?" Sanpei asks.

"I'm working hard to one day become a Pokemon Master!" I say.

"It's incredible how even though your goals are different, you're both working as hard as you can to realize your dreams." Serena says.

"Sounds like you made good rivals." David says.

Back at training, Sanpei aims to strengthen the power necessary for Quick Attack by jumping from tree to tree, we also do it. But in the end, I almost fall off the cliff and it is thanks to Froakie that he manages to be saved.

"And next up, we finally work on our Quick Attack!" Sanpei says.

Then Frogadier shows how it's done, and he does it swiftly. Clemont says, "Quick Attack generates so much power because it's done with so much speed."

"Yeah! Frogadier's Quick Attack is as awesome as I've seen!" I say.

"Now why don't you give it a try?" Sanpei asks. Froakie tries to do it, but the rock is still intact. "Froakie's form is correct, but it still moves too slowly."

"Okay, one more time! You've got to move your feet with more speed! Keep thinking of your next move!" As Froakie does it, the rock is still the same.

"We're almost there!" I say.

"But I still wouldn't call what Froakie's doing a Quick Attack." Sanpei says.

Frogadier tries to taunt Froakie again by using Quick Attack, and Froakie is now frustrated as he tries to move faster, but instead of doing Quick Attack, it becomes Double Team.

"It's using Double Team..." Elline says. "It learns Double Team instead..."

But the Double Team with the Water Pulse causes the rock to be destroyed. I say, "That's great, Froakie." Froakie nods at me.

At sunset, I say, "Thank you, Sanpei, you're the reason why Froakie could use Double Team. Thanks so much for all the great training!"

Sanpei says, "Ash, that was as amazing a Double Team as any I've ever seen either of my brothers' Pokemon use!"

"Thanks, although it really started out as a Quick Attack, but I guess that's okay." Serena says. "I mean, it gives us another move to use in battles."

"Yeah. Okay, we're off. Let's battle again next time we meet, okay?" I ask.

"You've got yourself a deal." Then we bid farewell to Sanpei as we continue heading to Camphier Town.

Here is the new chapter, and Ash and the group finally meet Sanpei. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be a special chapter that I'm going to put it early.
