Mark and Lillie have left the Kanto Region after bidding farewell to Queen Ilene and the Aura Guardians in the Rota Kingdom, they decide to head towards Mt. Chimney in the Hoenn Region. But just as they arrived at the Mauville City, they meet up with Ash and Serena.

"So how is the gem collecting?" Ash asks Mark, and Lillie says, "Thanks to Queen Ilene, we managed to get the Fighting Gem with ease."

"How about you? Brother? Did she give you a lot of trouble to get the gem?" Mark asks as he glares at Serena, causing her to feel unease.

"Well, she didn't give me some trouble...but..." Ash stops as he doesn't know how to continue.

"But what?" Mark asks, but then he notices a girl hugging behind Ash's pants as she looks around.

"Brother, who is this?" Mark asks in confusion as he didn't know that Ash would keep a human child.

"As you can see..." Before Ash can answer, Saphira notices Mark and she quickly rushes to hug Mark, much to his surprise. "Uncle Mark, you're here as well."

"Uncle Mark?" Mark turns to Ash and Serena, Ash sighs and says, "She is Saphira, and you don't need to tell me about it, just by looking at her you might think that she is my and Serena's daughter. Somehow she has memories for what we did in the past seven years and don't ask me why."

"Is it related to time travel?" Lillie asks. "Your daughter come from the future to help you out?"

"We asked Celebi and Dialga for confirmation, but there are no sign of time travel." Serena says, and it causes them to feel strange.

Ash says, "We think that it might be related to the Electric Gem that we got, it combines our auras with the affinity and she is the result of it."

Mark frowns, as much as he despise Serena due to the fact that she is still a human and she hurt his brother, but this is unexpected for him as Saphira asks, "Uncle Mark, can you show me Swords Dance that you often showed me? I want to see it again."

"Huh?" Mark is confused, but Ash uses his aura to tell him, "Apparently, her memories are somehow modified, it seems like in her memories, you often showed her about your Swords Dance and she also loves it. She thinks that even though we are destroying the worlds, we would also spend some time with her as we played a lot with her as well."

Mark knows what Ash is implying, he says, "I am sorry, Saphira, I didn't bring my swords with me. Why don't you wait until we go back home and I will show you again?"

"Yay, uncle Mark is the best." Saphira cheers as they all smile at the childish aura of the girl. Lillie says to Ash, "It seems like this girl is really a younger version of you, Ash?"

"Really? Even you think so?" Ash asks as he picks her up, giving her a piggy ride. "I don't know why, I feel like I want to be a good father figure for her, maybe it is because that I have never met my father..."

Serena frowns as this is first to her, Mark says, "Yeah...Mother created all of us, and we had to see her being abused to death by those traitors...Which is why I can't forgive those humans, especially those murders who are still alive even after we try any means to kill them..."

This causes Ash to wonder, how come he can't kill those traitors who steal his Pokemon? That is something that he needs to figure out. Ash says, "By the way, have you see Golly or Gladion? I am sure that they are going to Mt. Pyre in this region."

"We haven't seen them yet, but I am sure that they are already there." Mark says. "What about you? Brother? Where are you going for your next gem?"

"Well, I think we should go to Mt. Lanakila for the Ice Gem, so we'll see you later." Ash says as he puts Saphira down to the ground,

"We are going, Saphira." Serena says with a soothe tone and Saphira nods.

"Okay, Mama. Bye bye, Uncle Mark, Aunt Lillie. See you later." Saphira says as the three of them leave the two as they ride on Articuno and leave the island.

Mark says, "So I am an uncle, huh? I wonder what will the others think of that."

"Maybe they have the same reaction as you?" Lillie says. "After all, she appears out of nowhere and somehow knows what we don't know about."

"You maybe right, but still, she is a Pokemon as well, and our goal is to destroy humans, not Pokemon." Mark says.

"True." Lillie says. "By the way, Mark. I want to ask you something."

Mark looks at her and says, "Judging by the tone, I assume that you have a serious question that you want to ask me?"

"Do you need to say that?" Lillie nods and she says, "Why are you so keen on destroying humans, not that I am against it, but I want to know about it."

Mark says, "Minami and I have been discussing about this, as you know, when Mother is forced to send me away because of Professor Oak, I was sent to the FS Resort in this region. I wanted to believe that only my owners are the bad humans and the others are good ones. But in the end, while working and performing, I saw a lot of people, their minds are twisted, they treat others' pain as their entertainment and they love it. Day after day, eventually I feel that the humans are disgusting as they destroy the last hope I had for humans."

Mark frowns as they climb into the cable car, Mark says, "When I was saved by my brother, I feel that he is going to show me the good humans in the world, but in the end, my hope for humans are completely shattered after I heard what happened to him along with your mother. The pained face he is making, it feels like I am the one that is feeling it. Being betrayed by those who cared and even loved..."

Mark holds his hand on his face and he says, "Brother and Mother are the ones that made me who I am, but in the end, Mother is gone, and Brother is suffering, not only that, I heard everyone of my family is also sharing the same fate, it is just like that we are facing a great torture when we come into this world."

Lillie can't believe how much pain Mark has in his heart, she says, "I see...I am not going to blame you for it, I can feel the same way as well when my mother was gone. Even though I was a human at first...but Ash showed me everything, and I can feel your pain as well."

"That is why we are working together." Mark says. "We are going to change the society and make it better."

"But what if there are good humans." Lillie says which causes Mark to turn to him, "I mean...as I was spying, I saw some people who still have good inside them, are you going to hate them as well? Treat them as same as the ones that are evil?"

Mark sighs and says, "I know it will be prejudice to define humans from good to bad, but I simply don't trust them. If they aren't really bad, they have to prove it, that is my opinion. Just by saying those words aren't going to make me believe them as some of those people who said they are good are actually liars."

"I see, I am glad to hear this from you." Lillie says.

"But why are you asking me this?" Mark asks as Lillie lowers her head.

"I...I just don't want to see you and Minami fight with Insey and Trenor because of these things. My dream of a family is that siblings help one another, not fight with each other. I know that fighting makes siblings grow closer, but I don't feel just right about it."

Mark remembers the time when he and Minami fights with Insey and Trenor about some humans, and how Ash and Golly often get headaches because of their fighting. Mark notices that Lillie might also get a headache when they fight. He says, "I see, we sure have different opinions, and sometimes Brother Ash and Golly are the ones who become the negotiators. To be honest, I really don't want to fight those two as they are younger than us, but sometimes my jealousy may best me as I can't help but being mad at them."

"Jealousy?" Lillie asks. "Why are you jealous to your two siblings? I mean...I know they are younger than you, but didn't you all get the same love?"

"That is before we were sent away. Insey was being chased by the hunters, while Trenor lives in an orphanage and he was bullied. I just think that they are suffering less then us. I know it is childish to think like this, but you maybe right. Minami and I may be overreacting about this." Mark says.

Once they arrive at the top of Mt. Chimney, they go to the crater of the volcano and find that a gem is on the glass platform that is on the middle of the crater. So they go towards it and then takes it. But unfortunate for them, the lava rises into the air and create a giant wall that traps the two of them.

"What are we going to do now? Even if we go straight pass the lava, we will be burnt." Lillie asks.

"Don't worry, this is just one of the traps that is set by the Legendary Pokemon so that bad people can't take the gem." Mark says as he takes out a Pokeball. "Ho-Oh is the one that creates it, so I just need him to save us."

As the Phoenix Pokemon appears after Mark opens its Pokeball, he says, "Ho-Oh, please stop the Sacred Fire."

Ho-Oh yells at the lava as it disappeared, Lillie says, "That sure is amazing."

"Aside from amazing, I never know that taking these gems might trigger some bad stuff, especially the Lava Wall made by Sacred Fire." Mark says.

"Who knows." Lillie says. "Maybe we are fortunate to escape all of it with the help of Legendary Pokemon."

"Yeah, now we should head to the next place." Mark says, but then they feel hungry as Lillie asks, "Mark, did you manage to bring some food with us?"

Mark frowns and says, "I haven't, since we are in shortage of food. All we have is the frozen meat."

Ho-Oh tells them that the Fire Gem can help them cook the frozen food that they have, as they decide to try it out. Much to their surprise, the frozen meat starts to become unfrozen and eventually it is seared. As they eat it, Lillie says, "Even though it doesn't have any spices, it is better than nothing."

"Yeah." Mark says. "Maybe this Fire Gem is a good way to help us with our journey."

Then after they try to stop the fire coming from the gem, they decide to leave the Mountain as they ride down from the cable car.
