Equestria Girls part 2!

.....

Soon, the Trio had arrived at Principal Celestia's office, Malibu's heart thudding violently, licking his lips, wondering if he should even see what the human version of his mother would look like, staring at the door anxiously.

Twilight noticed what was going on with him, taking his hand. "Hey, this could be fun. You really don't need to worry."

Malibu did his best to collect himself, nodding. "Alright," He said softly, as Twilight began knocking on the door.

"Come in."

The two opened it, Twilight bowing but Malibu remaining standing straight, stepping inside nervously. He noticed a woman sitting at the desk, reading a magazine. "How may I help you?"

Malibu noted Twilight still bowing and he elbowed her sharply, since this version of Celestia clearly wasn't a royal. Twilight got the message and straightened herself. "Um, uh, whew." She stuttered, Malibu swallowing. Principal Celestia put down her magazine, studying them curiously.

It stunned Malibu greatly at his mom's human form. She rather looked quite nice, despite her rainbow hair not flowing like it usually did, and she had a sun pin on her outfit that looked like her cutie mark.

Twilight also stared, then shook her head. "My name's Twilight Sparkle, and this is my best friend Malibu. We're new here and... well, I understand that Fluttershy found a crown this morning and gave it to you."

Human Celestia stood up, putting her notes away in a drawer. "Yes. I had Vice Principal Luna put it somewhere for safekeeping. No idea how it ended up on the front lawn. Were you interested in running for Princess of the Fall Formal this year Twilight?"

Twilight rubbed her neck. "Um, no, not exactly. The truth is... well, the truth is I... you see, the crown is actually..." She paused in her words. "Princess of the Fall Formal?"

Celestia went back to her desk, smiling. "It's Canterlot High's big fall dance."

Malibu felt familiarity perking up, a smile on his face. "Like the Grand Galloping Gala?" He asked, before suddenly putting a hand over his mouth. He had nearly spilled a few things!

That made Celestia raise her brow at him. "Uh, Grand Galloping Gala?"

Twilight nudged him. "Oh, it was a big deal at our old... school." Malibu nodded with her. "Yeah, yep."

"And was there a Princess?" Celestia questioned. "Yes, but she wasn't exactly a student," Twilight replied.

Malibu then looked over to the wall, seeing where the winner's photo was hung up. He saw that Sunset Shimmer had won nearly every time. The last photo made her look pretty insane which caused him to feel nervous again. "Here at Canterlot HIgh, the students select one of their peers to represent them. She receives her crown at the fall formal.

Twilight suddenly had that look in her eye, that made Malibu wonder what she was up to. "Hmm. You asked me if I was interested in running for Princess. Can anyone run?" She questioned, as the two left.

Celestia nodded. "Yes. You just need to let the head of the Fall Formal planning committee know you'd like to be on the ballot. Was there anything else?"

Malibu shook his head. "Nope. That was it mo-uh, Celestia!" He said, correcting himself quickly since this wasn't the mom he had in Equestria. Celestia eyed him curiously before just smilng after. "Well, if you do need anything else, my door is always open."

She closed the door, the two walking away. Spike poked his head out of Twilight's backpack. "Twilight, why didn't you ya just tell her the crown was yours and ask for it back?"

"Yeah, I'm with Spike. Now we gotta be here longer," Malibu complained just a bit. Twilight however looked awkward. "Well, I was going to. But imagine if one of them showed up in Equestria saying they came from a place filled with tall, fleshy, two-legged creatures with these?" She asked, displaying her hands, unaware of a guy nearby witnessing her saying it, backing up nervously. "We'd think they were crazy!"

Malibu tapped his chin. He guessed Twilight was right. "Hm. You make a good point." Spike agreed then. Twilight smiled in determination. "Looks like if I want my crown back, I'll have to become Princess of the Canterlot High Fall Formal. So that's what I'm gonna do!"

The former gargoyle looked at her incredulously. "And how do you think you're gonna pull that off?"

Twilight still smiled. "I have no idea!" It made Malibu moan, facepalming.

The bell rang again, Malibu tensing up as all the students came out. He supposed it was now lunchtime when looking at the clock. "C'mon. We can plan better after eating," He said to Twilight taking her hand. "Once... we find the cafeteria of course."

It took them quite a few minutes to find the place but finally they were able to, stepping inside. Malibu could smell all the cafe food which made his stomach growl, not remembering the last time he ate.

The two got in line and Malibu saw the different selections; both with veggies and surprisingly, meat. Did the human counterparts here in this world somehow eat meat? Malibu eyed a hot dog and a burger, feeling himself licking his lips, now missing the taste of meat. He grabbed the meat burger and dog, putting it on his plate along with fruit salad and an apple.

Twilight glanced over at his choices after grabbing a vegetarian burger. "Is that meat you're going to eat?" She whispered. Malibu nods. "I am a gargoyle by... not sure by birth, but we were meant to eat this."

The unicorn looked at him in worry but he smiled. "I would never eat you guys, I promise." Grinning back she turned to get more food until the friends saw Fluttershy next to them.

Twilight decided to bring up what she decided to do. "I know we just met, but I was wondering if you might be able to help me with something." Fluttershy nodded. "Of course!"

Taking a breath, she spoke some more. "I've decided to run for Princess of the Fall Formal and—."

Fluttershy wound up gasping, dropping her bowl of fruit salad and spilling it on Twilight's skirt, Malibu jumping from her outburst. "Oh! Oh gosh!" Fluttershy whispered, grabbing napkins and wiping the stain. "What's the problem with her running?" Malibu asked.

She looked at Malibu in surprise. "Sunset Shimmer wants to be Fall Formal Princess. And when she wants something, she gets it! She'll make life awful for anyone who stands in her way. Just ask the girl who ran against her for Princess of the Spring Fling." Fluttershy finished when they sat down at their table.

"I have to try!" Twilight protested, Malibu nodding, still not liking this Sunset Shimmer one bit.

Fluttershy's eyes were worried. "Oh, I don't think you understand. You'd have to convince everyone here to vote for you instead of her: The athletes, the fashionistas, the dramas, the eco-kids, the techies, the rockers..."

Malibu's eyes drifted around the different groups Flutter talked about, spotting Flash Sentry among the rockers, of course. Ignoring him, he heard Twilight speak. "Why is everypony—." Malibu quickly bumped her, clearing his throat. It made her smile nervously. "I mean, everybody, separated this way?"

Fluttershy had one elbow on the table. "Maybe it was different at your old school, but at CHS, everybody sticks to their own kind. One thing that they do have in common is that they know Sunset Shimmer is gonna rule the school until we graduate."

Twilight narrowed her eyes while Malibu ate his burger. The meat was so heavenly after not having it for years, wishing he could eat in this world more often. "Not if I can help it!" Twilight declared, taking her apple in her mouth like a pony. It startled both Fluttershy and Malibu who felt odd at seeing a human do it.

It caused her to smile sheepishly, taking the apple out of her mouth. "So, uh, heh, where would I find the head of the party planning committee?" She asked.

"She'll be in the gym," Fluttershy replied, as the three continued to eat in silence, Malibu savoring his food while he could.

.....

After lunch the gang ventured down to the school gym thanks to Fluttershy's directions. Twilight pushed open the door. "So, this was where Fluttershy said she'll be?" Malibu wondered, who would be in charge of the committee anyway.

While they looked around, another girl's voice came out of nowhere. "Incoming!" Malibu cried out from a bunch of streamers falling from the sky, shielding himself. Thankfully they didn't hurt him.

But upon looking up, his eyes popped when seeing yet another familiar face while Twilight went to greet the girl who began blowing up a balloon. "Hi, my name is Twilight Sparkle. This is Malibu..."

Malibu swallowed. "P-Pinkie Pie?" He croaked, feeling big dejavu again as the pink haired human version of the party pony turned about, having stopped blowing and the balloon's air blowing back into her. She grabbed Malibu's shirt. "Are you psychic?!" She squealed, Malibu's ears ringing from it. He shook his head nervously. "N-No. I don't think so. Unless of course that's something you can do here."

Pinkie wound up dropping Malibu. "Not usually."

Twilight went up to her after Malibu picked himself up. "Fluttershy this is where we'd find the head of the Fall Formal planning committee."

Pinkie Pie then frowned, tying up some balloons. "Fluttershy, huh? Don't let the whole shy thing fool you. She can be a real meanie!"

Malibu gasped in surprise. This was definitely new. "You... you two aren't friends?" He asked in shock while Pinkie danced around a little. "Waited a bit to get your name on the ballot, huh Twilight? The dance is the day after tomorrow."

Twilight held her hands together. "We're brand new here," She explained.

Pinkie oohed in surprise, studying them over. "I thought you didn't look familiar!" She began pulling on their arms in examination, Malibu feeling his personal space being attacked. "Though, now that I'm really looking at you... do you have a twin sister and a brother who lives in the city, has a pet dog named Spike who looks just like that one? And red eyes like yours?" Pinkie then questioned, wondering why Malibu's eyes were so blood red in color.

Malibu swallowed then, still not wanting to reveal their secret and thinking he probably didn't have a human counterpart here since he wasn't from Equestria officially. "Uh, maybe?" Twilight asked.

Pinkie smiled. "Thought so! Anyhoo! Just need to fill this out and you are officially up for the coveted Princess of the Fall Formal crown," she announced, pulling a notepad and a pen out of her hair. So apparently even in the human world Pinkie Pie could still be Pinkie Pie, Malibu figured.

Twilight studied the pen for a time until taking it in her mouth, Pinkie Pie watching her curiously, Malibu slashing his throat to tell her she had to write with her hand. Looking nervous, Twilight takes the pen in her hands next, writing rather clumsily on the clipboard.

Pinkie's eyes rounded in disbelief. "Wow! You have really bad handwriting! It's like you've never held a pen before."

It caused her to laugh. "Is it?"

Malibu then heard the door open. "Somebody order a dozen cases of fizzy apple cider?" No. There was no way she was here too...

His head turned about, gasping at the sight of the familiar cowgirl Applejack who placed down a crate, wiping her forehead. "Ooh, me, me-me-me, yeah, ha-ha, me!" Pinkie Pie shrilled out.

Applejack looked towards the door. "Can you bring in the rest?"

"Eyup." Malibu's legs felt frozen, seeing Big Mac there now. He looked way different from his pony self, a bit skinnier than his clydesdale form but still quite strong.

Then Applejack glanced in Malibu and Twilight's direction. "Hey, I know you two!" She gasped. Malibu froze up from those words. "Y... you do?" He stuttered. AJ nodded, pulling out a apple cider bottle. "Uhuh. You're the new kids who gave Sunset Shimmer the what for today!" She replied, drinking the cider.

Malibu smiled awkwardly. "It was nothing, really."

Applejack was surprised. "But it was something alright! Absolutely nobody had been standin' up to her until now." She said, continuing to drink.

Pinkie Pie blew up more balloons. "Twilight Sparkle here is gonna run against Sunset Shimmer for Princess of the Fall Formal." It caused AJ to spit the cider out in her own disbelief.

She glared at them now. "I'd think twice about that. Oh sure, she'll probably approach you all friendly like." Applejack grabbed a red balloon and a yellow one, drawing Sunset and Twilight's faces on it, talking like them. "'I sure am lookin' forward to some friendly competition.' 'That's so good to hear.' And then, here comes the backstabbin'." Applejack had put a pin behind Sunset's balloon, making it pop the other.

Malibu swallowed from the thought, wondering how they would beat someone like Sunset. Applejack kept the frown on her face. "About the only girl in this school you can trust less than Sunset Shimmer is Rainbow Dash."

Twilight's eyes rounded, while Malibu's heart began to thump. Now his special somepony was here too?! "Rainbow Dash?" Twilight gaped.

Pinkie Pie bounced along on another balloon. "She's the captain of like every team in Canterlot High!" She explained. Malibu's stomach was having butterflies now but kept himself in check since he knew this Rainbow Dash was probably younger than her pony self because she was still going to high school.

Applejack frowned however. "She's also the captain of sayin' she's gonna do somethin' for ya, and then turn around and not even botherin' to show up." That startled Malibu again, realizing now more that these versions of his friends weren't getting along which made him rather sad, wondering what happened.

Twilight spoke to Applejack. "Thanks for the advice, Applejack, but this is something I really need to do."

"Huh, suit yourself." AJ stopped for a moment, looking at her suspiciously. "Hey... how'd you know my name is Applejack?"

Malibu grinned nervously. "L-Lucky guess," He attempted with a chuckle. Twilight laughed again too. "Didn't you say?" She asked to Big Mac.

"Nnnope," He responded, making the two even more nervous. Malibu knew then they had to scram or all their secrets would be out.

He waved to them all. "Sure nice meeting you both! I'm sure me and Twi will see you all around!" Malibu snatched up Twilight's arm and the two quickly made a break for it, unaware that Sunset Shimmer had arrived on scene too to check on the decor.

....

Later in that afternoon, Malibu and Twilight both were wandering about until reaching the locker rooms. Malibu himself was kind of now beginning to feel homesick in Equestria. This place where he was among humans again was too weird for him.

"How are we gonna get everyone to vote for you Twilight?" Malibu questioned. Twilight simply shrugged until they heard a new sinister sounding female voice behind, the lights in the locker area flickering.

"Can't believe I didn't recognize the pair of you earlier."

Malibu turned sharply, feeling anger in his veins at seeing the one who betrayed his mom. "Sunset Shimmer..." He snapped, hands balled into fists.

Sunset smirked, walking seductively over to them. "Shoulda known Princess Celestia would send her prized pupil after my crown, and her little dog too."

Twilight glared. "It's my crown!"

"Whatever!" Sunset huffed, until she laid her eyes on Malibu. Malibu kept up his guard. "Aw, how cute, if it isn't my former teacher's adopted little pet," She mocked, stepping closer, Malibu trying not to flinch.

"You'll pay for betraying my mom! And I'm not her pet!" Snapped Malibu, a soft growl in his throat. Sunset merely ruffled his hair.

"Hmph. Trying to act tough huh? Well, this is just a minor setback for me. You two don't know the first thing about this place and I already rule it," She sneered, caressing Malibu's cheek once before stepping away, Malibu frowning more in hate from her touching him that way.

Twilight glared too. "If that's so, why do you even need my crown? You went into an awful lot of trouble to switch it with the one that belongs here."

Sunset eyed them maliciously. "Pop quiz: What happens when you bring an Element of Harmony into an alternate world?" Malibu and Twilight looked at each other, not really knowing the answer that just fed more into Sunset's ego. "You don't know? Seriously?" She laughed. "And you're supposed to be Princess Celestia's star student and son?"

Now both of them looked quite hot and bothered at Sunset's insults towards them. "Then again, what were the chances she'd find somepony as bright as me to take under her wing after I decided to leave Equestria. Bit embarrassing that you were the best she could do."

Malibu's eyes lit up further. "Shut up!" He snapped while Spike barked. Sunset looked at Spike in contempt. "Oh, and I'd keep an eye on your mutt. Hate for him to be... taken away from you."

Spike growled more. "Is that a threat?" He demanded. Sunset kneeled down to him eye level. "Oh, of course not! But I'd cut down on the chatter if I were you. Don't want everyone here to know you three don't belong here, now would you? You wanna be a princess here? Please. You don't know the first thing about fitting in."

Malibu stomped his foot. "Leave Twilight alone! I won't let you take her crown!" Sunset gazed at him flirtatiously. "Hm? And just how will you stop me? I would hate if it something happened to you too handsome." Soon she stalked off, leaving the three alone but deep down, Sunset knew she had to get at least one of Twilight's friends on her side. And that fake son of her former teacher could be her best bet at doing so, since she usually gets everything.

When she went back out, Sunset's eyes widened at the sight of her cronies Snips and Snails being wrapped up in streamers. Glaring she twirled them around until they were untangled.

"I want you to follow them. Bring me something I can use just like I did with that last girl who thought she could challenge me. And... maybe you can lure that handsome little prince over for me too. If I am able to seduce Malibu, he may see my side of the story and join me."

Snips and Snails both saluted. "You got it, Sunset Shimmer!"

Sunset put her hands together. "When the crown, its power and Malibu are mine, Twilight Sparkle will be sorry she ever set hoof into this world. Not that she would've been much safer if she'd stayed in Equestria." She was startled when hearing Snips and Snails laugh behind her.

"Yeah, in Equestria!" Snips said in randomness. Frowning, Sunset pointed down the hall. "What are you still doing here?! Go!" The two clumsy boys slammed into each other before running off.

.....

After their run in with Sunset, Malibu could tell all that made him rather hungry as he and Twilight both passed by a vending machine.

Malibu gazed inside and saw all sorts of snacks. Licking his lips he tried taking one but his hand hit glass.

Twilight tried next, pushing on the vending machine but it wouldn't open for them. Soon, she went on her hands and knees, getting ready to buck it.

"Twilight... Twilight!" Hissed Malibu, jerking his eyes over to a coming human who now looked awfully like Trixie which made him moan, hoping he didn't have to see her again.

Trixie grinned down at them. "Excuse me. The Great and Powerful Trixie!" Malibu watched her pull out some coins. "Need some peanut butter crackers." Putting them in, the crackers came out instantly after pushing some buttons. Trixie smiled triumphantly holding them up. "Voila!"

It made Twilight look rather upset that she didn't know how to get snacks from this strange box. "Malibu, Sunset Shimmer is right. I don't know the first thing about this place." She said sadly.

Malibu took her hand. "I'm sure we'll figure things out like when I first came to your world. It was research that helped me fit in."

Twilight's eyes shone. "Yeah, that could really help me get some votes!"

"Research?" Spike asked as they opened another door in the place. "This place has a school. I have to believe it's got a..." Twilight started. Malibu saw inside tons of books which could only mean one thing; "A library!"

This was perfect for the three of them. Malibu was eager to find some kind of history book about this mirrorverse. They were unaware that Snips and Snails were right behind with their phones to record them, and eventually trick Malibu.

While walking around the library Malibu came across some strange looking device that looked rather familiar to him. What was it that Maggie had called this thing? A... computer?

He pushed the on button and the screen lit up, Twilight sitting down to explore it. "So, I just push the letters here, and then the words and moving pictures would come up here?" Twilight asked after Malibu did his best to talk to her about how laptops worked.

Before he could answer, Cheerilee had come by, a fake smile on her face. "That's right." She said like she was talking to a younger kid. Malibu flushed from how she sounded and went to explore the computer more until Malibu suddenly jumped when loud music was in the air; coming from where the CMCs were nearby.

Cheerilee glared, shutting off the sound from their computer. "Uh, girls, what are you doing?!"

Human Sweetie Belle grinned. "We're just seeing how many hits our new music video has gotten!" She played the song again on YouTube, which sounded familiar to Malibu:

"So the three of us will fight the fight! There is nothing that..."

Cheerilee shook her head, unplugging the speakers. "No, just... no! The school computers are for research purposes only!"

Applebloom shrugged, beginning to scroll through the comments. "It's just as well, y'all. Some of the comments about our song were really awful. Epic fail... funniest thing I've ever seen?!"

Then Sweetie Belle had an idea in her eyes. "Funniest thing they've ever seen, huh?" For Malibu this was really a reflection of what he had seen before in the Ponyville talent show where they thought they could be comedians.

Twilight raised her hand. "Uh, I don't know if that's what you should take from—." Malibu took it. "Just ignore it. They're pretty determined and probably won't stop trying to get... uh... what were they getting here if not Cutie Marks?" He asked, watching them leave. Even Twilight had no idea, while struggling to press the keys.

Eventually they moved on from the computer and decided to just get books instead which was much better. But without magic it was harder to carry them. Malibu did his best to help but they both wound up stumbling over on themselves. Twilight even tried to pick one up with her mouth, mostly embarrassing herself.

Malibu even discovered another strange device called a 'printer' he heard from Maggie, studying it over curiously, until he pressed a button, making a flashing light shine from the glass on top. It made Malibu yelp, jumping into the air and collapsing onto some other books, feeling dizzy from the bright flash, never wanting to do that again.

The two of them had been reading books for over 3 hours straight until it was time for the school to close. Malibu's eyes felt tired and sticky, rubbing them while Twilight yawned, jerking up in fear. "I haven't even thought about were we are gonna sleep tonight," She realized.

Spike then grinned proudly. "Way ahead of you guys." He guided them upstairs to where there were more books. The former dragon pulled off the sheet off of some book piles that looked like beds.

"It's a little *cough cough* dusty, but it doesn't look like anybody comes up here." Spike said after the dust cleared out. Malibu tested his own book bed, which felt comfortable enough.

He smiled down at the dog. "Not bad buddy." Twilight agreed. "It's perfect." She scratched behind his ears which Spike enjoyed.

"So how did your research go?" Spike questioned while Twilight pulled out a book she had found.

"I found this book. It's called a yearbook. It seems to be something they use to keep a record of things that have happened at the school." She explained, turning it onto a picture of some very familiar looking humans.

"Hey, look." Malibu said. "It's Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and, that last one to the right looks a little like... Rarity." He claimed.

That got Spike's attention alright. "There's a Rarity here?" He squealed, then calmed down from their looks of amusement. "I mean, uh... interesting photo."

Twilight looked at the picture in sadness and confusion. "It's interesting because they look like they're friends."

Spike nodded. "They do look like our friends. But I thought we'd figured that out already."

Malibu sighed a little in annoyance. "No, Spike, she meant they look like they're friends with each other. But, now, not quite the besties."

"Not so much," Spike wound up agreeing. Twilight laid back on her book bed. "I just can't help but get the feeling that Sunset Shimmer had something to do with it."

Malibu had to agree, pulling up his covers. "Suppose that's true, given her attitude towards friendship. She kind of reminds me of Demona, a gargess in my old world who hated humans. She was in a love affair with my former Master, Thailog."

Twilight couldn't help but shudder in disgust at the though. "Remind me never to meet her." She said. The two held hands, Malibu grinning lightly at her. "Hey, we'll be able to get home again, I know we will. We just gotta get that crown."

Spike nodded, curling on Twilight's lap. "And she wants your crown because she plans on doing something even worse! If you're gonna stop her, you have to focus on making friends here. Can't worry about why these girls aren't friends anymore. Even if they *yawn* do remind you guys of your Ponyville friends..."

Malibu turned on his side, feeling ready to sleep off the stress of today, already missing his bed at Sweet Apple Acres. "You're right, Spike. Eye on the prize," Twilight murmured once more before her eyes shut. Soon, Malibu's own eyes drooped closed, blackness guiding him to sleep.

....

Next part may be the final one for EG but will have to wait and see.
