   We waved goodbye as we walked out of Twist.

   Rebecca wiped at her eyes with a sniffle. "Do you have anywhere to stay?"

   I looked down with a sigh as we approached my car. "I'm not sure."

   She looked at me from the passenger side. "Well... you could stay with me."

   "At your aunts?"

   She smiled a little. "Or we could get a hotel room for the night and figure things out tomorrow."

   I smiled back. "That works for me."

   We got in the car after that and took off for the nearest hotel...

   I swiped the key card and opened the door, letting Rebecca in first. The room was kinda small but, the bed looked inviting.

   "So..." I started.

   She chuckled. "So?"

   "You still sleep on the right side?"

   She smiled at me before pulling me into a kiss. I lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around my waist as I deepened the kiss.

   Her kisses were hungry and full of passion. I could tell she missed me, just as much as I missed her.

   I walked us over to the bed and set her down, crawling on top of her before capturing her lips with mine again.

   She pushed my jacket off my shoulders and started kissing my neck.

   I let out a slight moan as I shrugged my jacket the rest of the way off.

   Then, she pulled away and locked eyes with me. "Wait... are you sure you're ready for this?"

   I let out a big sigh before laying down next to her. "Honestly..? No."

   She turned to me. "Then, we'll wait."

   I smiled and kissed her forehead. "Thanks."

   She smiled back before standing up and heading for the bathroom.

   I sat up on the bed and picked my jacket up, pulling my cigarettes out before setting it on the bed.

   I lit one as she came back out, wearing just her underwear and a tight tank top.

   I exhaled smoke. "You're making it hard to say no."

   She giggled as she sat on my lap. "Well, it's not like I brought any extra clothes."

   I laughed a little and she kissed me before standing up and walking over to her side of the bed.

   After getting changed for the night, I hesitantly joined Rebecca in the bed.

   She glanced at me. "Is it just me, or does this feel weird?"

   I laughed. "Definitely weird."

   She rolled her eyes and smiled. "So, is cuddling off limits then?"

   I smiled back. "Definitely not."

   Her smile grew a little wider as she scooted closer to me and rested her head on my chest. It was a little weird at first, given the time apart, but I wrapped my arms around her nonetheless.

   I rubbed her shoulder with my thumb. "Did you really mean what you said?"

   "Which part?" She asked with a humorous smile, looking up at me.

   "The part about 'the only girl I've ever loved'?"

   She looked down, but nodded.

"When I came back, I was hoping I'd run into you... I was looking for a reason to stay." She whispered the last part.

   "Did you find one?"

   She looked back up and smiled. "Yes. The whole time I was in California, all I could do was think about you. The look on your face when I left haunting my thoughts. I thought I was doing something good, for us, for our family. But, I realized pretty quickly that I didn't need a fancy job or a fancy house, all I needed was you. And the kids of course. But, as soon as I came to terms with that, I took the earliest flight back here."

   I smiled slightly as I continued to rub her shoulder. "I missed you to. I missed you so much that I didn't talk to anyone for the first month. I quit my job, started drinking pretty heavily, then eventually lost the house. I had nothing left... that's when I wound up at Angels-"

   "The strip club?" Rebecca cut off.

   I sighed and nodded before continuing. "I spent my last few dollars on a beer and sat back to enjoy the show..."

   "What can I get for you, beautiful?" The bartender asked.

   I searched my pocket and pulled out a few crumpled bills. "However much alcohol this will buy."

   She took the money and handed me a beer. "Rough day?"

   I took a big swig of my beer. "More like a month."

   She gave me a sad look. "What's your name?"

   I set my beer down and faced her.

"Skylar." I said, sticking my hand in her direction.

   She shook it. "Angel, this is my club."

   I picked my beer back up and looked around. "Nice place."

   She smiled. "Thanks... I'll tell you what, first round's on me."

   "Really?"

   She pulled another beer out and cracked it open. "Sure, for my new friend."

   She stuck her beer out and I clinked it with mine. "Thanks."

   A few beers later...

  "You gotta see this next girl, she's one in a million." Angel said.

   I turned to the stage just as a beautiful brunette walked out. Her icy blue eyes locked onto mine, paralyzing me in my seat.

   She gave me a small smile before turning away and continuing her dance.

   "She's gorgeous..." I said.

   Angel laughed. "She's single to."

   I peeled my eyes off the brunette on stage and turned to Angel. "What's her name?"

   "Candy... I can introduce you after the show, if you'd like."

   I smiled and turned back to the stage. "Definitely."

   After Candy's show, I followed Angel to the back room, passing a few half naked girls on the way.

   Then, we stopped in front of a door, Candy's name written on it.

   Angel smiled at me before knocking. "Candy, come on out, I have someone I'd like you to meet."

   I felt the nerves in my gut when the door opened, those icy blue eyes locking with mine again.

   She smiled. "Candy, nice to meet you."

   I took her outstretched hand and brought it up to my lips for a quick pec. "Skylar..."

~~~~~~~~~~
   "... we went on our first date the next day and I moved in with her the next week." I finished.
   We were both sitting up now, Rebecca looking down at her hands.
   "So, she's a stripper?"
   I sighed. "Yeah... but, that didn't matter. She was kind and loving... she made me a promise when we first started dating... she promised she'd never hurt me, that she'd never leave me high and dry... and that's exactly what I did to her."
   Rebecca took my hand in hers, rubbing the back of it with her thumb. "I'm sorry." She said in almost a whisper.
   I rubbed my eyes. "I'm so confused, Rebecca. I love you, so much, but..."
   "You love her to." Rebecca finished.
   I just looked down and nodded.
   She rested her hand on my cheek, locking her eyes with mine. "Let's get some rest, it's getting late. We'll figure this out in the morning, I promise. Ok?"
   I nodded and she gave me a quick kiss before leading us back down into the bed.
   I wrapped my arms around her. "Good night."
   "Good night." She replied.
   It was true, I loved Rebecca more than anything. But, deep down, I think I loved Candy just as much. While our relationship was short compared to mine and Rebecca's, she was there for me at a time when I needed her the most. All she did was love me when no one else would...
   And I stabbed her in the back...
