We walked down to the town and was hearing everyone around me. I hadn't seen anyone other than the other members of my flock for a long time. I crept along the street with the others and everyone didn't notice us, some people looked but quickly looked away. I thought that they looked at us at all because of how big our 'cosplay wings' were. We kept walking and we saw the grocery store ahead of us.

All of a sudden someone walked up to us and asked us, "Hey! Where did you get those huge wings from? They are gorgeous!" We were shocked to hear this but I finally spoke up.

"Oh uh, we got them from this cosplay store, it's in China." He seemed to back off until he asked.

"Could I try them on?" This kid looked about 6 years old so I could see why they would ask something like that but I just calmly said no, and he nodded and ran away. I sighed.

"Oh goodness, that was close. Come on, let's get these groceries and head home, " nodded Ruby. We all loosened up trying not to move our wings to grab suspicion.

We walked into the store and got all the food we needed to last us for a few months. It took a while as we were looking for canned food because it lasts us longer. "Hey, Ruby? Do you know where some canned corn is? The row is completely empty," Kymera sounded in defeat.

"Come on! It's corn! You should be able to spot it. Here let me check on where it could be," Ruby kept looking for the canned corn when a tall lady came up to us with there little kid when I see it's the little kid from earlier. The mom looked angry with us for some reason. We got nervous especially when we saw that she had 10 cans of corn in her cart! 10 cans! I looked at them and back at Kymera and Ruby in confusion. The lady raised her voice and shouted,

"Why don't you let my child try on your wings? You aren't at the convention anyway." I was in utter shock. What was going on? Then it happened, I didn't know what to think. The lady went up to Kymera and started yanking on her wings! I heard as Kymera shrieked in pain as she flapped her wings to get the lady off her. The lady stepped back and pulled out her phone. I had no choice, I covered her mouth and stole her phone from her and told her

"No one will believe you anyway, and please leave us alone, " I looked to her child. "Please don't tell anyone ok? It will be a secret just between the two of us. The child was visibly scared and nodded seriously and I slowly let go of his mom and gave back her phone. I ran over to Kymera who was crying with Ruby trying to comfort her. I walked up to the two and we decided right then and there that we were going to forget the corn and just get out of there. I walked to the counter and when asked about the yelp I just said that a lady had tried beating up my friend. He said that he would talk to her about it, ringed up our food, and we were on our way down the street with the food in our cooler bags.

We finally got to the hill. I looked around to see if anyone had followed us. Thank God no one had followed us to the hill. I turned to Kymera, "Are you sure you are ok?"

She nodded still looking upset from the encounter. I sighed and hugged Kymera to calm her down and we all climbed up the hill. We took off and flew all the way home, taking a few breaks on the way. I landed next to the house with some of the food, I saw Ruby land with her food and following her, Kymera gracefully landed on the ground feet first.

Glad to be home we walked into the door with everyone looking nervous at us. We ignored them and placed our food in the fridge to cool. We all went back before we saw Andro in front of us staring angrily at us. I wondered what was happening. All Andro did was pointing towards the tv with the news on, we were on the news, flying.
