2 Years later

Lennon paused outside a door. Pressing her ear to it, she could hear hushed voices. She smiled. Opening the door, she found Kade and Noah, crowded into a small closet, giving her surprised looks.

"I knew it," she said.

"Shh!" they hissed, as Kade reached out and pulled her in.

Noah pulled the door shut and darkness fell.

"How did you know we were hiding?" Kade whispered.

He wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her cheek. Lennon scoffed.

"Jessie."

"That's why you came to hide too?" Noah asked.

"I didn't..."

"Shh," Kade said.

They all froze.

"I don't hear anyone," Lennon whispered after a minute.

"I know. I just knew whatever you said would be a lie," Kade said.

Lennon playfully hit him. He caught up both of her hands and pulled her in for a kiss.

"Gross," Noah muttered.

They both chuckled.

"We need to find Noah a girl," Lennon said.

"Hey now, I don't need any help when it comes to the ladies," Noah argued.

"When was the last time you had a girlfriend?" Lennon questioned.

"Was it Whitney sophomore year?" Kade asked.

"Do you think I'm going to let myself get tied down after watching Will and Kade..."

"You should choose your next words very carefully," Lennon warned.

"Luckily find the two most perfect and beautiful girls in the world," Noah completed.

"Overkill," Kade coughed.

"I think what he said was spot on," Lennon said.

"What's the use of trying to find anyone who can compare to you, Lenny?" Noah said, his words dripping with sickly sweetness. "But I guess I must carry on with my search."

"And casually date every girl until you find the one?" Kade filled in.

"You don't sound too broken up about the cards you've been dealt," Lennon said.

"It's a burden I must carry," Noah said. "Speaking of, I'm thinking Angela could be the girl I'm looking for?"

"Jessie's maid of honor?" Lennon asked.

"I think we have a connection."

"By connection do you mean, she's hot?" Lennon mocked.

"There's something about her eyes," Noah mused.

"And her boobs," Lennon added.

"Lennon, I would never..." Noah said indignantly.

Lennon laughed.

"Are you sure you don't want help finding a girlfriend?" she asked.

"And get tied down like Kade here," Noah said. "No, thanks."

"I don't mind being tied down," Kade said, kissing Lennon.

"Gross. I'm out of here," Noah said. "Whatever awaits me out there is better then being stuck in here with you two."

Lennon went to follow as Noah left the closet, but Kade hooked an arm around her waist. He pulled her back and shut the door on them.

"I gotta a crazy idea," he said in between kisses.

"What's that?"

"Let's get out of here."

"I wish."

"I'm serious."

"Kade, we can't."

"Why not?"

"The wedding's in three hours."

"Nobody will notice."

"We're both in the wedding party."

"We won't be missed. There are like ten other groomsmen and bridesmaids."

"You're the best man."

"Noah's up for the task."

"Kade."

He let out a frustrated grumble and buried his head against Lennon's shoulder.

"Babe, I know it sucks," she said.

"What sucks is that I haven't seen my girl for more then three weeks. When I finally see her for the first time, she gets whisked away for some ridiculous event."

"The rehearsal?"

"Len, I barely got to see you yesterday."

"I know, but weddings are always crazy."

He gave her an adorable pout.

"You don't think we can run away?" he asked. "I honestly don't think anyone would notice."

"You're Kade Matthews."

"Damn, I knew that name would come back to haunt me."

Lennon laughed.

"Sometimes I wish I wasn't Kade Matthews," he said.

"Oh yeah? Who do you want to be?"

"Just Kade."

"Well, just Kade, who should I be?"

"Just Len."

"And what should just Kade and just Len do?"

"I have a few ideas."

"Like?"

He only responded with a kiss.

"You both sounded so lovely!" a woman said, catching Kade and Lennon's attention as they crossed the reception hall.

"Thank you!" Lennon said, warm smiles on both of their faces.

"How special that you got to sing for Will and Jessie's first dance," she said.

"We feel honored," Kade said.

"You both have incredible voices. You did a fantastic job."

"Thank you so much," Lennon said.

The woman smiled and continued walking. Kade gave Lennon's hand an urgent pull.

"I'm getting you on the dance floor before anyone else can compliment our singing," Kade told her.

He led her through the maze of tables until they hit the dance floor. He spun her once before pulling her close. Lennon buried her face in the crook of his shoulder and neck, breathing in his scent. It felt like she had been floating for the last three weeks and only felt solid when she was in his arms.

"I missed you," she said, pulling back to see his dark eyes.

He looked down at her. She had studied his eyes for the last three years and she still felt like there were more pieces to discover.

"I missed you too," he said. "Good news though, you won't be missing me anymore."

"I know!"

"In fact, you might get a sick of me."

"Never."

"I don't know. We haven't been on tour together since our very first one."

"I think I'll survive," Lennon said. "Plus, it will be so different."

"Mostly because I won't act like a jerk."

"Well, there's that."

"Also, it's your tour. I'm just coming along for the ride."

"Will it be strange not to be performing?"

"Not at all. I get to sit back, relax and watch my girl do all the heavy lifting."

Lennon laughed.

"As long as you're there every night when I leave the stage, I'm fine doing all the heavy lifting."

"I'll be there."

"I love you, Kade Matthews!"

"Hey! Will you keep it down. You can't just go around throwing that name about," he said, scanning the crowd around them to make sure no one had heard her.

Lennon laughed. She glanced around, taking in the state of the crowd. All the traditional events were out of the way and the crowd of wedding goers were scattered between the tables and the dance floor.

"I meant just Kade," she said.

"That's better."

"Lennon!" Jessie cried out, breaking Lennon and Kade apart. "Can you believe I'm married?!"

"It's pretty crazy!" Lennon said.

"Just wait! You two are next!" she said.

"Will, contain your wife," Kade said.

"Hey!" Jessie cried in outrage.

"Hey wifey!" Will said, stealing Jessie's words away with a kiss.

She melted into him and any outrage with Kade's comment disappeared. Lennon laughed as they danced away, disappearing into the crowd.

"I can see marriage has really changed Jessie," Kade joked, pulling Lennon close again.

"Completely."

"So what do you think?" Kade asked.

"About what?"

"Marrying me?"

A smile spread across Lennon's face without a hint of surprise.

"It wouldn't be the worst," she said.

"Just so you know, I have money."

"Always a positive."

"After six albums, I've accumulated a little cash and some vacation days."

"Is that so?"

"And you'll be free once your tour is done."

"True."

"In Rue's mind, we are already married."

"Well, I'm pretty sure she has thought that since the first time I met her."

"My parents love you," Kade said.

"Well, obviously. I am as cute as button."

"Charlotte and Deacon seem to like me."

"For all you know."

Kade laughed.

"I think Benny's a fan," he said.

"You bribed him with toys."

"I get along with your dad."

"All excellent points, but I haven't heard a question."

They stopped swaying and he fixed her with a look, a smile spreading across his face. Without a word, he led her out of the crowded reception hall and out on to a balcony. Music followed them. The air was warm. They could hear distant waves crashing. He pulled her around a corner, out of sight. He took both of Lennon's hands.

"Lennon Kayhill... I love you. Will you..."

"Knee," Lennon said.

He gave her a stunned look.

"But I'm in my best suit," he said.

"You own twenty of those," Lennon said.

"But this is the best one."

She fixed with a stony look.

"Do you want my answer now?"

He laughed and got down on one knee.

"Better," she smiled.

"As I was saying," he started. "I love you."

"I know."

"Are you going to let me finish?" he asked.

She gave him a coy smile.

"Lennon Kayhill, will you marry me?"

Lennon pretended to think about it.

Kade stood and took a step closer to her.

"Len," Kade said, his voice going serious. "The first time I met you, I told you not to fall in love with me. I'm really glad you didn't listen. I could write a million songs to tell the world how much you mean to me, but it would never be enough. I know what life is like without you and I never want to go back. Marry me?"

A smile spread across Lennon's face.

"Yes!" Lennon nodded.

Kade cupped her face.

"I love you, Len." he said.

"I love you too. Now kiss me you fool!"

Kade laughed and happily obliged.

And now an author's note! 😉

Oh my goodness!

It's now officially over! It's crazy! I should let you know right now that I am not planning on writing a sequel.
I know, it makes me sad too! But I have something that will cheer you up! I just posted the fourth chapter of Mr. Write and it shall bring a smile to your face! Or so I hope.

Before I sign off with my usual ways for you to show your love I want to share two more thing with you. This is just a fun story tidbit, the band name HeyFarewell was actually based off a band called HelloGoodbye. The second thing is kind of embarrassing. The other day I was in Fenuil Hall (The place where Kade and Lennon go in chapter 28) and totally fan girled because I could picture where Kade and Lennon would have walked. Yeah...well....
