Aphmau's P.O.V.

After a quick break we are finally going to start walking again. I'm kind of sad that after this the trip will be over. It's been so fun and I really don't want it to end. I know that once I go back to Phoenix Drop I'll have to go back to stealing,

I'm know I'm not going to me able to maintain my friendships with the nobles because of their parents and history. A thief and a noble? Nothing could ever happen between us at all. And that just makes this trip bittersweet.

We are continuing to walk down the long hallways when eventually we make it to a really big room. This isn't the treasure room however it is definitely an important room. I take a few steps forward making sure to look out for traps.

There don't seem to be any that I can notice but I'm still very wary as I walk. Everyone follows behind me and we start looking around for a passage wall according to McCloud there should be one in the walls, hidden by something. His reason? "it's always in the wall".

"McCloud that's not a reason" Katelyn says

"Aye it is, get lookin'" McCloud smirks and starts looking behind paintings

I shrug and join him in his search. Katelyn however is looking at the floor tiles. She thinks that the secret passage might be in the floor. I guess she might be onto something. We should make sure of every place.

Eventually we find a door behind a painting.

We remove the painting and try to open it. We push and pull the door but it won't budge. There is a keyhole but we haven't found any keys. I really hope it's not back in the hallway.

Katelyn suddenly gasps and said that she found a key under the tiles.

"So both Katelyn and McCloud where right" Lucinda says laughing

"Well I suppose McCloud was correct in finding the door, but without checking the ground we wouldn't have found the key" Katelyn smiles

She inserts the key into the doorframe and unlocks it. The doors are still really heavy. It takes everyone's strength to push them open. I can feel my arm muscles starting to get sore but I'm not going to give up on this door. We are so close to the treasure.

When the doors finally move enough for us to slip inside we go through. We open them up fully so we can walk through them with ease, holding the treasure that we have found. I can almost smell the gold. This will help the town so much.

The floor in here is crumpling and rotten, it looks like it will break if we aren't careful. We carefully step out onto the floor and start to walk. I feel something tickle my arm. When I put my hand down to scratch, something fuzzy climbs onto my hand.

I look down and see a spider. I flick it odd my hand quickly. Cause if me to loose balance. I feel the floor underneath me and I start to fall. Before I do I feel an arm wrap around my waist holding me up. I open my eyes to see Jeffory smiling.

"Thank you" I smile

"No problem, please be careful" he says

"I will, and a spider scared me so it's not my fault" I laugh

We continue walking and make it across the crumpling door. I sit on a bench. After all of that, focusing on your balance and almost falling I think I just need a quick break. Everyone else agrees.

Soon enough I'm ready to get back onto my feet and continue looking around. The others are still resting so I say that I'll go up ahead. Jeffory comes with me so I'm not alone, even though I can handle myself.

We walk up a little bit and soon enough the tunnel starts getting darker. I can barely see anything. Jeffory holds my hand and pulls me with him so we don't get split up. We notice a light at the end of the tunnel.

At the end of the tunnel there is the treasure room.

I gasp and Jeffory squeezes my hand tighter. It's absolutely beautiful, there is gold and gems all around. Just a small handful of this will make someone rich for life. This is going to help the village so much.

Jeffory and I run back to tell everyone what we found. They seem to get a sudden burst of energy and they follow us down the hall to the treasure. When we get there we start working out how we will take it back. We can't take it all back, there is just to much. So we need to work out what we have to bring and what can stay.

We finish sorting out what's good to keep and what we don't need so we start picking things up. I am on gem duty, having to choose the best gems. Diamonds, sapphires and Ruby's are really rare so I focus on those.

I finish filling my bag and I suddenly feel a massive pain to the back of my head. I feel the world slowly slipping away. I fight the urge to sleep but eventually my efforts are in vain. As I plummet into the world of darkness I hear someone yell my name.

Jeffory's P.O.V.

We forgot that there might be traps in this room. I watched Aphmau get hit on the back of her head with a slimeball from a dispenser, at fast movement those things can be deadly . I run over to Aphmau to make sure she is ok.

We have already got all the treasure we need so we start heading back. I held Aphmau the entire time. Hoping that she will be alright. Please Irene, she has to be alright. I just couldn't live without her.
