Allie's POV:

I head to the music room and go straight to the piano. I start playing the notes for the song in my head. Then Julie and Flynn are walking into the room. "There you are. We've been looking all over for you." Flynn says as they walk over to me.

"Why'd you run out of dance class so fast?" Julie asks. "I'm sorry. I just needed some air. It was a little intense in there." I tell them. They grin at each other. "Oh, we noticed. Dancing with a guy you've had a crush on for forever will do that to a girl." Flynn explains.

"But that's the problem. The entire time I was dancing with Nick, I couldn't stop thinking about Luke." I say. "Seriously?" Julie asks, grinning. "First off, called it. Second, I know you always want what you can't have, but Luke is next level." Flynn says.

"I know. And now I think Nick likes me. Nick!" I say. "Oh he totally does." Julie grins. "But me and Luke just clicked, and he's just so-" But Flynn cuts me off, cutting the image of Luke that I was starting to form out of my mind.

"Not real. You can make all the music you want with Luke, but he'll always be a phantom. So...here's what we're gonna do. Send Nick a nice little friendly text, asking him to come to your party tonight." She says, grabbing my phone. She types and the shows me.

"Uh-" "It'll be fine.  We're not gonna let you get your heart broken, and trust me. Tonight, you're performing with Luke, so the key is avoiding those big, beautiful, dead eyes." Julie tells me. "You two are very pushy today." I grumble. "You're welcome." Flynn smiles. I just laugh.

"Come on, we have to change and then go to next period." Julie says. Flynn and I nod and the three of us head out of the music room. Hours later, after school, I'm in my room getting ready for the performance and I have no clue what to wear.

"You know, you don't have to go extravagant for a garage party. Just wear this and then your own clothes." Julie says, holding up mom's favorite leather jacket with roses on the back. I grin. "Thanks Jules. I'll see you down there in a second." I tell her.

She nods and leaves, shutting the door behind her. Smiling I clutch the jacket to my chest as I walk over to my closet. I pick out a black crop top and black shorts. I slip them and a pain of heels on before sliding the jacket onto my shoulders. I look good.

I curl my hair and part it all the way to the right and do tight braids down my left side. I do my makeup and then I'm ready to go. I leave my room and go down to the garage where the boys are waiting. "Hey Allie!" Reggie says when I walk up to them. "Hey guys, ready?" I ask.

They all turn to me and nod. "You look great. I'm pretty sure Flynn is about to announce us." Luke says, grinning at me. I look away, towards Alex and Reggie. "Let's do this." I grin. They nod happily. That's when I hear Flynn announce us.

"What's up everybody! Time to put your hands up, do a little dance, yup. Here's the new anthem form Allie and the Phantoms." She says. The garage door opens and I nervously walk to the piano and sit down. "Thanks for coming everyone." I greet. After that I quickly start to play.

Allie

Running from the past
Tripping on the now

What is lost can be found
It's obvious

And like a rubber ball
We'll come bouncing back

We all got a second act
Inside of us

The projector kicks on as I stop playing for a bear and push the mic stand away, grabbing onto my mic. Then the boys appear.

I believe

I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of

I start jamming with Reggie.

Something big, something crazy
Our best is yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own

I then turn to Alex and when I'm done rocking out with him I face the crowd, skipping Luke entirely.

Cause we're standing on the edge of great!

Boys

On the edge of great

Luke

We all make mistakes
But they're stepping stones
To take us where we want to go
It's never straight, no

I make the mistake of glancing at Luke and he nods me over to share a mic with him. I don't go over and just face the crowd.

Allie and Luke

Sometimes we gotta lean
Lean on someone else
To get a little help
Until we find a way

I believe

I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be

That we're standing on the edge of

I use the piano bench to climb into the top of the piano, crawling to the front and sitting there.

All

Shout! Shout!

Allie

Come on and let it

All

Out! Out!

Don't gotta hide it

Let your colors blind their eyes
Be who you are no compromise

Shout! Shout!

Come on and let it

Out! Out!

Allie

What doesn't kill you makes you feel alive

I crawl into a kneeling position

Luke

Alive

Allie

I believe

Luke is suddenly there and with that I can't help looking into his eyes they captivate me.

I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be

While I can I pull away, standing fully on the piano as Luke goes back to his mic stand.

Cause we're standing on the edge of great!

I quickly hop down from the piano.

I sit on the bench and reattach the mic to the mic stand.

Boys

Great on the edge of great

Allie

Whoa-oh-oh-oh

Reggie and Alex

With that Reggie and Alex disappear, but Luke come over my right shoulder to sit on the bench with me, sharing my mic. As we sing the last part we just stare at each other. There are so many emotions in his eyes right now.

Then Luke is gone too and everyone applauds. I smile sheepishly and bow a little. After everyone tells me what a good job we did they start to clear out and my family and Flynn and I start to clean up. Once the outside is clean we go into the house to have the leftover pizza.

"I can't say this enough, that was incredible." Flynn says. "But epic fail on that eye contact thing." Julie chimes in. I laugh. "Hey, I tried." They laugh along with me. "So how do you do those holograms?" Carlos asks. "Oh, don't try to understand it, Carlos. I don't." Dad tells him.

"That's because you're old." Dad fake laughs. "Funny guy, huh? I'd send you to your room, but then who's gonna clean up this mess?" Dad asks. I laugh. "Don't poke the bear." I playfully chide him. He just leaves the kitchen. "So, what are the boys doing right now?" He asks.

"Uh, you know, things they do where they're from. Hey, so what camera did you shoot with tonight?" I ask. "Interesting in my work? Well, let's see..." He starts talking about different cameras and the three of us just pretend to listen , fist bumping each other.

All in all, tonight was amazing. I still don't know what I'm going to do about the Luke/Nick situation, but I don't need to know right now. I still have time. Hopefully.
