Ash walked down and empty and dark corridor. His hat lowered and covered his eyes. His thought kept returning to the moment of that question being asked. 'What if' that same phrase kept playing through Ash's head. He walked down to the main lobby and sat down on a couch.

He looked up at the television and things were made worse. The news' headline was: Kalos Champion relationship in scrutiny? When Ash finished reading he slammed his fists on the table.

He immediately got up and looked for his phone. He reached in his pocket and dialled, Scott's Number.

"Have you read the bloody news!"

"Yes Ash calm down, it's just the press being press"

"Well it's going to give that Camel boy a chance, and if he does or even touches Serena I want actions against him! I can't lose Serena you understand me!" Ash shouted on the phone.

"Ash your over complicating this, Calem will not go after Serena and I just can't preventing him front touching her unless it's breaking a law. Look nothing will happen to Serena!"

"I don't care Scott! Nothing must happen to Serena!" Ash shouted again.

"What will happen to me?" Serena asked as she approached Ash. His eyes widened in worry.

"Look Scott I will talk later, bye" Ash said and exited the call. He turned to Serena and grabbed her by the shoulder.

"Your fine!? Where were you? Calem didn't do anything right?" Ash spoke without a pause for a breath. Serena was taken aback by this and looked worried. She felt Ash's head to make sure his health was fine.

"Calm down Ash, I'm perfectly fine! What's with all the tension?" Serena asked but Ash did not respond. He started to look around the place for any signs that Serena might be kidnapped. There was no one around that looked suspicious so Ash sighed.

"Sorry Serena I can't let anything happen to you, because you are the driving force for me, my inspiration and I need you!" Ash said holding both her shoulders.

"Oh.. Ash..." Serena said blushing furiously, she looked into his eyes and knew he meant it.

"Sorry it's just, after the press conference, and what he asked..." Ash immediately covered his mouth. This got Serena's full attention.

"asked you what?" Serena asked.

"Oh um, that umm." Ash scratched the back of his head looking for a way out. The big screen behind Serena changed to the news and the reporter caught both trainers attention.

"There have been numerous rumours regarding the relationship between Serena Yvonne and The Champion of Kalos, Ash Ketchum. There is some issues between the pair and a reported break up but this is all from an unofficial source" The news reporter blurted out.

There was a few minutes of silence between the pair. Serena turned towards Ash and saw his face was full of sweat.

"What did they say in the conference?" She asked sternly.

"They asked me what I would do if you got kidnapped" Ash said looking down.

"Then how did they get this story?" She asked, quite frustrated.

"I did hesitate because the question got me by surprise as well so they may have interpreted it in a different way. They might have thought that I made up the answer to cover the False rumours" Ash suggested.

"Look Ash we should forget about this, because it will ruin our careers if we react, so we just stay normal and be together and get on with our lives. They will realise that there is no break up after that!" Serena said and held Ash's hand.

"Can we go on a date?" Ash blurted out.

"Yes But it will have to wait till tomorrow because I promised Shauna that we would Practices performing today" Serena said.

"Oh ok, I'll come too!" Ash said.

"No Sorry Ash, girls only and plus you'll get bored!" Serena said.

"Nonsense, I used to help May and Dawn-n... with" Ash stopped and clenched his jaw tightly and looked down. Serena grabbed his chin and lifted it up.

"You can't let rumours or the past hurt you, because if you let it I will lose you and I don't want that happening." Serena said and embraced him in a tight hug.

"Look just don't be too late, you don't know these parts too well and if you get k..." Ash was cut off,

"Look Ash forget that question, it is probably someone trying to test your resilience in the tournament, they do that a lot to famous people. You can't make it get too you that's how the best become the worst, and too me your beyond the best! Now don't worry about me and enjoy your day and I promise we will spend the week together after, Okay!?" Serena said and stared into Ash's eyes.

Ash reluctantly nodded and gave a fake smile.

"Good now see ya!" Serena pecked him on the lips and ran out the lobby.

Ash went back to the lounge and sat down. He got out a red squishy ball and threw it against the wall. But nothing happened as he anticipated something to happen.

He got out his seat and closed his eyes. He scanned through people's aura's too search for Red. Surprisingly his aura was nowhere on the island which Ash found alarming.

He finished his drink but noticed something at the bottom. It was a note, that read:

"Bottom left"

Ash decided to look behind him and too his left and he saw Red pull a chair out from the table motioning to him to come and sit. So he did, he walked over to the empty seat and sat beside his father.

"At the bottom of the glass?"

"Well obsession is a young man's game, in this case the drink, but the talented think outside the box, hence the unusual card at the bottom of a glass" Red said looking at his own glass but then glancing at Ash.

"How'd you know I was here, and why can't I see your aura?" Ash asked.

"I'm skilled and experienced, and well I assumed you have a question for me, for which I will partly answer." Red said and gazed at Ash's pocket.

Ash looked at his pocket and pulled out the red squishy ball.

"Yes how do I use it?"

"Instinct"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Just remember the people do not care what goes in the box but care about what is outside the box. Also squeeze the bell." Red said.

"Why are you speaking in riddles" Ash asked.

"For you to figure out, which you will. But it is essential to be kept a secret. Secrecy is key for this ball otherwise you will look like a fool" Red spoke.

Time Skip (9:30pm)

"Ash I must get going, and I must warn you to keep a cool head" Red said.

"But why?"

"Obsession is a young man's game and you aren't young so be wary" Red said and walked off.

Ash sat there wondering what Red meant but those two riddles, but he was snapped out of his thought as he felt distress in his stomach, at first he thought he was sick but he scanned aura's and saw Serena's distressed aura.

"No! I should not have left her to go alone!"

"That was great Shauna! I think you will make it to the finals!" Serena said watching her friends routine.

"Well I don't think so if I'm competing with you! Your another level!" Shauna said exhausted.

"Oh c'mon! Anyway today was great! But I have to go now it is pretty late" Serena said looking at her watch. She said her goodbyes to Shauna and headed towards the bus stop.

It was pretty dark but Serena noticed three hobbling figures heading in her direction. They seemed to notice her presence and glared at her for a few seconds.

Serena glanced away but kept looking back to be met by their squiffy stares. After a few seconds they began talking to each other.

The bus finally arrived and it was empty, she saw the figures coming to the bus now and she could feel herself start to sweat. She held her skirt tightly. She walked in the bus and sat down in the middle.

The 3 men walked in with drunk postures and body language. The first person stared at Serena and almost fell on her but restrained himself.

"Sorry miss" He said with an evil smile and sat behind her while the other two sat in the opposite row next to her seat. They talked with each other and Serena stared down.

She was whispering for Ash to come and started to rock back and forth. She felt a touch on her shoulder and saw it was the man that nearly fell on her.

"Pretty hair" He said in his deep and dulcet tone.

"Yeah very pretty, I want her!" Another Man said standing up and sitting beside her.

Serena stood up but got backed up into the wall. The three men were around her giving her evil smirks. One flicked her skirt up a little bit Serena smacked his hand away.

"She will have a messy face after we are done, right boys?"

Serena didn't like this at all, she knew what they meant and was bricking it inside.

"ASH!!!!"

Chapter 28: Obsession?:
Ash races to the rescue of Serena and the tension from earlier starts to increase in Ash. His love for Serena begins to become an obsessive type which doesn't make it a healthy relationship for Serena. What will this cause? Will Serena part with Ash due to this obsessiveness?
