Wendy was at on her bed, trying on different pairs of flannel as she prepared for Robbie to come by. There were too many to choose from, for the first time, there was a small bit of regret that she had packed so many to choose from.

Pacifica would never understand her ways, but there was an art to choosing which piece of flannel to wear. It depended on the occasion, the time of day, the season, what pants or shoes she was wearing, there were so many little factors involved in choosing a piece that were not to be looked over.

She had tried on the blue one, the green one, the red one, and the white one. She was reluctant to wear the white one as it wasn't her style that much, but she had worn one similar to red yesterday was the issue. The blue might seem a little off with everything else she was wearing, she had to look at that.

Why was she stressing this much? It wasn't really a date he was taking her on. He had said on the phone he just wanted to show her one of his favourite places in all of Gravity Falls. That wasn't actually a date, was it? It was just two friends chilling in one friends favourite place to hang out. Not a date.

But then why was she making a huge deal out of it when there didn't need to be? It was odd, like something more Pacifica would do than her. Pacifica was the worrywart of the two. Was this what she felt like all the time?

Wendy looked at all four again, finally putting on the green one.

This is the one. Casual, but cool. I love it.

Wendy smiled, looking at herself in the mirror for just a second, liking how relaxed and cool she looked. She didn't want to overdress and give Robbie the wrong idea, but not under dress and look sloppy, which, judging by Robbie's attire, might've been more of an issue and overdressing. She looked right in the middle of dressy and sloppy. Nice, but not crazy. Wendy gave a satisfied smile to her reflection in the mirror.

She began to leave her room, seeing everyone else was already preoccupied with something. Pacifica was reading her journal, not paying any attention to anything else, Gideon was at the counter, reading some magazine, Candy was leading a group of tourists around the Archives of Mystery, and Fiddleford, was, well, somewhere. She didn't exactly know, but she assumed he was working.

Wendy couldn't help but feel a little upset. Breakfast and sometimes supper were the only time all of the members of the Archives of Mystery (excluding Gideon, who went back to his own home for meals) the entire crew seemed to associate together, and even then, sometimes everyone was left in awkward silence to eat. Sometimes Fiddleford would leave halfway through meals to do his work, and Candy would look upset or annoyed. Though she must've told him about this, as he hadn't done it recently.

Wendy put a hand up her head when she felt a pang of pain hit her suddenly. Ugh, another headache.

She had gotten one last night, just before she had went to sleep. It had seemed to last a few minutes before being gone and her thoughts were consumed by Robbie calling her and asking her to hang out, once again, before she had drifted off the sleep.

But this one seemed different, a bit worse than the one she had last night, she wondered if this one wouldn't last long either before it went away, so she could focus on something else. But for a moment, the pain was hard not to think about.

Wendy wasn't used to getting headaches, which was why minor pains for her seemed to be magnified by ten. She wondered how people who did get headaches often coped.

She decided to ignore the pain, doing something else, so she wandered over to the gift shop, where Gideon had put down the magazine from before, and sat down on the counter near him.

"Hey kid!" Gideon greeted, giving her a fist bump. "What's up?"

Wendy fist bumped him back before lying on the counter. "Not much. You watching the counter?"

"All day, every day," Gideon said. "Might be nice to have some help. There's a whole pack of tourists coming soon."

"I saw them earlier," Wendy said. "All if them were staring a this rock that looked like a face, but some thought it was an actual face, some thought it was an actual human, weirdly enough."

Gideon chuckled. "Yeah, I've seen those guys. People who believe the stuff here is actually real, even though it's not. It's almost funny how people actually believe some of this stuff, or get pawned into buying some of this merchandise."

Wendy smiled. Talking with Gideon could be one of the most rewarding parts (or, some of the only rewarding parts) of staying up here.

"Definitely," Wendy said. "You see that sasquatch track thing? So lame."

"In some ways I agree," Gideon said. "Don't tell Mister Pines I said that. He'd fire me on the spot, even though he'd re hire me a few seconds later."

Wendy laughed. "Sure thing."

"Oh, by the way, where were you last night, kid? You kind of ran off and disappeared, I heard you were hanging out with someone."

Wendy felt herself grin in a almost nervous or embarrassed way. "I was hanging out with Robbie Radiance in his studio."

"Oh," Gideon said, before taking a look somewhere else. He almost sounded. . . sad? Wendy didn't take much note. "Either way, off the counter, here come the tourists."

"Hey, uh, Wendy!" she heard Pacifica call. "You have a, um, guest here for you!"

Wendy looked towards the hall, where Pacifica was standing with Robbie next to her, giving her a smile.

"Sorry, Gideon, I've got company," Wendy said, before darting off down the hall towards her sister and Robbie.

Remember, Wendy. Not a date, just a hangout between two friends, no need to go crazy. Just stay cool, just stay cool. This is not a date, she thought.

But I wish it was. Wait, what am I thinking?

There were some things Robbie did believe, and some things he didn't believe, and some things he didn't want to believe.

One thing he didn't want to believe was that someone like Wendy, who had looks, style, and a nice personality, was related to someone like Pacifica, who was behind on all trends, a terrible person, and from what he had concluded, a person who was much too jealous of his powers for the worst. But seriously, the girl should get some kind of notice that the shirt over another shirt trend was so out of style and it seriously needed to die. She had to be incredibly incompetent when it came to society not to pick that up.

So when he knocked on the door, and her face was once again at the door, he had wished he hadn't knocked to spare him the displeasure of seeing her. She had to be worse than Bill, which was saying a lot, since he was a real pain to deal with.

"Oh, Robbie, right?" Pacifica asked, giving him a small smile.

There was that look in her eye again, that look that had helped him draw the conclusion that she was jealous. That look that took a glance at his amulet for a second, before darting her eyes back up, hoping he wouldn't see. But he did see it, for sure he did.

"Yes, Robbie," He said, his tone deep and cutting.

She didn't look amused, but she did look a little startled. That was another thing, the way she pretended to act surprised when he had been rude to her, like she wasn't used to anyone dare questioning her, which also made her a lot like Bill, except he would've blown up at this point.

"Okay, do you need something?" She asked.

It was then the only good thing about seeing such an awful person might have been, he saw the Journal tucked underneath her arm, as if she had just been reading it.

It was true! She had the Journal! That picture he had seen was right (although it was hardly ever wrong). Perhaps that was how she knew that the magic of Gravity Falls existed, or that she was related to Fiddleford Pines, he always was an oddball.

Either way, the sight left him wondering, how did she get it? Did she get it off of Bill? It was likely she didn't, as if Bill was still obsessed with those things as he had been before, there was no way he would give it to some girl who just arrived in town and asked for it. He'd be surprised if he even admitted to her that he had it.

Before realizing he had perhaps was staring and looking odd, he looked up at her. "I'm here for Wendy," he said quickly. "She is home, right?"

Pacifica didn't answer for a second, looking over into another room. "Oh, she is, I'll go get her."

"No, I'll come inside," Robbie said stepping in before Pacifica could object. Really, he just wanted to see what this town called 'competition' for his show, despite knowing that it wasn't going to be anything close to his show. Nothing came close to the Tent 'o Telepathy, he wasn't that stupid to believe that.

Then again, if the townsfolk liked this, and he got with Wendy, it might be a more powerful alliance than most would assume. If they were bad and still managed to make money, they must have some sort of excellent skill set to do so, and that wouldn't be bad to utilize.

He saw Wendy walk over to him, grinning as she walked up. He smiled, too, but this time, it weirdly didn't feel forced.

"Wendy," he drawled, kissing her hand. "Nice too see you."

She chuckled a little. "Gentleman. Nice to see you too, Robbie."

He smiled wider as she laughed. It was strangely pleasant to hear. "Are you ready for the evening?"

"Of course," Wendy said.

He wondered though, if the CD had worked at all. it was supposed to be guaranteed to make people do what you wanted them to, in this case, it was for Wendy to at least like him as a friend, and how much of this was Wendy, as he had given no instructions for it to make her like him in a romantic way.

Either way, he wasn't bothered by it. Heck, he didn't want to say it, but he thought he liked her, too.

"Perfect," he said, taking her hand and touching the lace ribbon, which was still tied to her wrist. "Let's go."

As he whisked her away, he saw Pacifica's face look almost nervous as she went, like she didn't want her to go. He wouldn't be surprised, as he was convinced she didn't like him and was jealous of him. What worried him was what things she could possibly be saying behind his back. Because of his inability to check with his magic anymore, he wouldn't know, which scared him too much than he would ever admit. She looked like a girl who could too easily manipulate other people.

When he was sure Wendy wasn't looking, he gave the girl a scowl. He didn't have time for her silly games right now, her manipulation and her jealousy at the moment. He didn't need her negative vibes ruining his evening with a girl who was a good person and he would have fun with.

With a adjust of his cape and a swoosh, the air changed around him, as he didn't catch the girls facial expression to that, and as a taunt, he closed the door loudly with the magic of his amulet.

He had an evening to enjoy, he wasn't letting some meddling, annoying little dumb blonde get in his way of that.
