While we're at Route 5, I get a call from Yancy once more. After learning what I want to do and how many badges I have, then she says, "I am off today, so I was thinking I could pick up my phone. The one you've been keeping for me... Are you busy, Ash?"

"Actually we're not." I say.

"Really? You aren't? Good. Can we meet at the Ferris wheel in Nimbasa City? I'm looking forward to seeing you there, Ash. Good-bye."

Then we decide to all head to Nimbasa City, and we find a pink-haired girl with a white hat. She says, "No! I'm not who you think!"

"Are you Yancy? What do you mean by that?" I ask.

"...What? You're Ash? I'm so sorry! I thought you were someone else. Well, uh...It's nice to meet you. I'm Yancy! You were different than I imagined, so I was a little surprised. Ah ha ha... ..."

"And I suppose you have met my friends? This is Alice, Golly, Eve, Iris, and Cilan." I say after introducing them.

"It's nice to meet you." Yancy says with a smile. "Now we can just talk normally! Hee hee!"

I give her the phone that she dropped, and she says, "Thank you, Ash. I'm sorry I couldn't find the time to pick it up earlier. But I really enjoyed talking with you, so maybe I was a little lucky! Ah ha ha..."

Then she starts to blush a little, just like Alice predicted. "Um... If you don't mind can I still call you sometime?"

"Sure. I don't mind." I say.

" ... Phew. I was really scared you might say no. Can I ask you one more thing? I called you on the Rotom Phone too often, and Ma... I mean one of my coworkers... Got really mad at me... So, Ash, could you call me? ..."

"If you want to, we can do that." I say.

"What? Really? Thanks... Ash, you're really nice. Hee hee... I'm usually at work, and sometimes I have trouble picking up a signal... But I'd like it if you check your Rotom Phone often and give me a call... Ah ha ha! Well, I'll be heading home! Good-bye!"

After she leaves, Cilan says, "I know I recognize her from somewhere. She's Nancy! The famous Idol!"

"She's an idol?" Eve asks. "I never knew...But why is she trying to hide her true name?"

"I think being a famous idol is not that easy, I mean, there are a lot of fans that might harass her and she needs to be careful." I say.

And while we're back at Route 5, we try to evolve our Pokemon and the first one to evolve is Herdier.

Stoutland: The Big Hearted Pokemon: Normal Type. Evolve from Herdier at LV:32. It rescues people stranded by blizzards in the mountains. Its shaggy fur shields it from the cold.

Our Solosis and Gothita's rivalry are still there and they also evolve into their middle-stage evolution. That's when we decide to battle once more, although it is still a draw in the end.

Gothorita: The Manipulate Pokemon: Psychic Type. Evolve from Gothita at LV:32. They use hypnosis to control people and Pokémon. Tales of Gothorita leading people astray are told in every corner.

Duosion: The Mitosis Pokemon: Psychic Type. Evolve from Solosis at LV:32. When their brains, now divided in two, are thinking the same thoughts, these Pokémon exhibit their maximum power.

The next one to evolve is Dwebble, which evolves into a Crustle. Its shell gets bigger, so it also has some problems like my Torterra in the past. But I still remember that and I also have him learn Rock Polish to raise the speed.

Crustle: The Stone Home Pokemon: Bug and Rock Type. Evolve from Dwebble at LV:34. It possesses legs of enormous strength, enabling it to carry heavy slabs for many days, even when crossing arid land.

When we're ambushed by Team Rocket again, we use Yamask to send them flying. After that's done, Yamask evolves into a Cofagrigus, but they try to play pranks by trying to get us in the coffins. I wonder if Ghost Types really are pranksters...

"You know, if Team Rocket was still here, we should have just let Cofagrigus devour them instead..." I say with a dark tone.

"I actually don't like the face you're making Ash... you're scaring me..."

"Sorry." I say.

Cofagrigus: The Coffin Pokemon: Ghost Type. Evolve from Yamask at LV:34. It has been said that they swallow those who get too close and turn them into mummies. They like to eat gold nuggets.

And finally, our Darumaka evolves into a Darmanitan, when we're delighted about that, we find that it won't change into Zen Mode like we want it to. After scanning the Pokedex, we find that its ability is Sheer Force instead of Zen Mode, so we decide to change the ability by using the Ability Capsule.

Darmanitan: The Blazing Pokemon: Fire Type. Evolve from Darumaka at LV:35. When weakened in battle, it transforms into a stone statue. Then it sharpens its mind and fights on mentally.

We find a Kanto Fair and I'm happy to see the whole fair, but when my Mom's posters show on the screen, we all feel sad again. "Mom... I miss you..." I say.

"So that's your mother?" Iris asks. "The strongest champion Aurora..."

"Yeah..." Golly says. Then our mood is changed again after seeing Professor Oak teaching the Kanto Starter Pokemon. "That's you, Eve!" Cilan says.

"Oh, this video was recorded a long time ago, it was a promotion for Kanto Starter Pokemon." Eve says. But my mind is now on the Charmander.

"Seeing that Charmander got me thinking back about the time when I caught mine." I say.

"But you told us your first Pokemon is Pikachu." Cilan says.

Then I decide to tell them the story of my Charizard and Charla. After telling them how Charizard was abandoned as a Charmander, Iris says, "That sounds just like what happened to Tepig."

"Yeah, most of my Fire Type Pokemon suffer the same thing." I say. "But it's a good thing that trainer is arrested after we defeated him in the Pokemon League."

"I am glad that Charizard has found a trainer like you." Iris says.

"But why isn't he at your team?" Cilan asks.

"Because Charizard wants to be stronger. Me and Reisa have traveled through Johto, we came across Charicific Valley. Charizard wants to be strong and be with his girlfriend, so I left him there for training." I say. "Not just Charizard, Charla is the same..."

"Maybe it is time for them to return after the training, what do you think?" Alice asks.

"That sounds like a good idea." I nod as we decide to call Liza, she says that she has taught Charizard and Charla everything and that it is time for them to travel with them.

After we go to the battlefield, Alice and I send out Charizard and Charla. The two of them let out a mighty roar, and I say, "Charizard! Charla! It's so good to see you!"

Alice says, "And this is Charizard and Charla." But much to our surprise, both of them shoot Flamethrowers on our faces, Iris says, "Uh oh..."

"There's a whole lot of love in that Flamethrower..." Cilan says. "Like a family recipe handing down from generation to generation."

I say, "That Flamethrower of yours is stronger than ever."

"Come on out! Everyone!" I decide to send out some of my Pokemon to meet Charizard and Charla. Charizard is happy to see Pikachu, Abosl, and Butterfree again, and he also meets new ones like Lucario, Infernape, and Unova Pokemon.

Charizard is interested in Infernape, as the two of them stare at each other with fiery eyes. The others also take out their Pokemon and greet Charizard and Charla. The two of them all greet back and Charizard also requests to have a battle with Iris, so we decide to do it as Charizard is battling Hydreigon. In the end, I decide to stop the battle. "Charizard, I can sense that you know Hydreigon's power. With that comes neutral respect. And I sense that deep within my heart. Thank you, Hydreigon."

Though Iris thinks that Charizard is a Dragon-Type, and Alice says, "Charizard is not a Dragon Type until it Mega Evolves, which we don't have a Charizardite X."

Then Iris frowns as she wants to capture a Charizard, but we know how easily it is mistaken. Then we finally arrive in front of a bridge, where we meet a man named Charles. "I'm a heartbreaker... My name... Charles. I wanted to get the attention of a girl I like, so I mastered a new style of Pokémon battling called Rotation Battles. Want to learn about it?"

"Rotation Battles?" I ask.

"In Rotation Battles, you send out three Pokémon at a time and battle! One Pokémon takes the lead position, and the other two stand on each side. The trick is, each turn you can change their positions... And that's a rough explanation of Rotation Battles. Hey! If you're a Trainer, how about a Rotation Battle?"

I decide to battle them using Pignite, Servine, and Dewott. "You've got a good attitude, don't you! I'm a heartbreaker... My name... Charles. I'm always at full throttle."

He says his name again, but we don't mind as we battle his Tirtouga, Archen, and Sigilyph. After we've done the Rotation Battle, all three of my Starter Pokemon evolve into their final forms.

Serperior: The Regal Pokemon: Grass Type. Evolve from Servine at LV:36. They raise their heads to intimidate opponents but only give it their all when fighting a powerful opponent.

Emboar: The Mega Fire Pig Pokemon: Fire and Fighting Type. Evolve from Pignite at LV:36. It can throw a fire punch by setting its fists on fire with its fiery chin. It cares deeply about its friends.

Samurott: The Formidable Pokemon: Water Type. Evolve from Dewott at LV:36. One swing of the sword incorporated in its armor can fell an opponent. A simple glare from one of them quiets everybody.

"Sheesh. That's embarrassing. Getting schooled when I was planning to teach. Still, you have potential! You have to understand your Pokémon to win in a Rotation Battle. I'm a heartbreaker... My name... Charles. Riding a bike and becoming the wind fits a bad boy like me."

With him leaving, we can finally go through the Driftveil Drawbridge. However, we meet up with the thieving Swanna trio, only that they used to be Duckletts when we met. We try to stop them from taking our stuff, and in the end, Palpitoad evolves into a Seismitoad and defeats one of them, with the two fly away, we decide to capture the Swanna that's left behind.

Seismitoad: The Vibration Pokemon: Water and Ground Type. Evolve from Palpitoad at LV:36. It increases the power of its punches by vibrating the bumps on its fists. It can turn a boulder to rubble with one punch.

Ducklett: The Water Bird Pokemon: Water and Flying Type. These bird Pokémon are excellent divers. They swim around in the water eating their favorite food-peat moss.

Swanna: The White Bird Pokemon: Water and Flying Type. Evolve from Ducklett at LV:35. It administers sharp, powerful pecks with its bill. It whips its long neck to deliver forceful repeated strikes.

After leaving the bridge, we do some battle training until we run into a feisty and bossy Gothita, who is immediately smitten with Scraggy. To keep Gothita happy, its Trainer Katharine asks us to trade Scraggy to her, but we refuse. Katharine then challenges us to a high-stakes battle: if I lose, I have to make the trade.

I use Trubbish against her Mandibuzz, after a few close calls, Trubbish manages to take Mandibuzz down. Gothita is not pleased and makes this very clear to Katharine. Gothita's tantrum is interrupted by a sudden rainstorm, and Katharine suggests that everyone take shelter in a nearby mountain cabin.

When we wake up again, we find that our Trubbish evolve into Garbodor and aren't happy that their sleep has been interrupted by Gothita, Axew, and Scraggy. We have to calm them down and it is thanks to Katharine's Deerling using Aromatherapy to stop them.

Garbodor: The Trash Heap Pokemon: Poison Type. Evolve from Trubbish at LV:36. They absorb garbage and make it part of their bodies. They shoot a poisonous liquid from their right-hand fingertips.

But Gothita is still mad at Ash me for beating Katharine earlier, and it challenges Garbodor to a battle...which Garbodor wins easily, infuriating Gothita all the more. It storms off in a huff, Katharine quickly bids us farewell to run after it, and we continue to go to Driftveil City.

Here is a new chapter, and that ends Route 5 and the new evolutions, which should have been happening in the anime but not revealing. Charizard and Charla are also back permanently, and the next chapter will be meeting Team Plasma once more.
