"Well that's actually a long story." Steven said awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck trying to avoid eye-contact with Sunny "I have time." Sunny stated plainly still staring at Steven who now blushed embarrassed by the way he was acting by the time he looked back Connie and Sunny were staring him down shocking him slightly admitting defeat Steven told them the story "So after a sleepover with Connie, I woke to the sound of a mysterious man fighting the rest of gems by the time I figured this out, Pearl was the only one still fighting this mysterious man, the rest had been knocked out by this guy, Pearl wanted me to run but I knew I just couldn't leave them to this guy so I stayed much to Pearl's dismay, Pearl had him on the ropes here and there, but in the end the man was victorious even after I tried saving Pearl, left alone with him I tried fighting him I grabbed Pearl's sword rushing him that did little good though and lead me to use my secret weapon my shield, I launched my shield at him as hard as I possibly could yet he still managed to deflect it with his sword lodging it into a nearby sand pile, now the man caught sight of the shield and had mistaken me for my mother who he was looking for apparently he wished to join her army, from there the man seemed supportive and helped me bring the unconscious gems into the house, later sharing with me that his name was Diamond at the time I knew very little about him besides that he was looking for my mother and that he had beaten the gems single-handedly when the gems woke up I heard that he was a Homeworld General, now Diamond had a hard time convincing the gems to let him join yet managed to do it and is now a member of the Crystal Gems." Steven explained trying to remain brief "What about Connie? You said you had a sleepover with her." Sunny said looking a bit confused "Oh...well me and Connie were having sleepover on a school day and my dad had to drive her to school that morning before Diamond arrived at the house." Steven said explaining why Connie wasn't there with him.
