I comb my hair gently and curl my bangs. I place the hair clip my mother gave me when I was young in the top, making a perfect bun.

I smile confidently and there's a knock on the wall, my smile fades to an annoyed frown.

I sigh and swipe back the curtains and a man with a leather bag stands awkwardly, almost nervous.

"Hello ma'am. You've gotten mail." He smiles and I nod taking the folded piece of paper from his small hands and he runs out the front curtains.

I turn back inside my quarters and unfold the envelope revealing and letter with a wax stamp: M.Carter

I smile down at it and unlatch it.

Her perfect hand writing still takes my breath away, sometimes hard to read.

Hello love!,

It seems you've been enjoying your time so far!

And yes,

I have taken your word.

I've punched a total of fifteen men just this week!

Its been ever so stressful without you, Ron.

Your father has requested that you write him as well.

He's been pushing us to our breaking points! Haha, but I can take it! Since you've taught me so.

You've helped me grow so much, I don't know if I'll ever be able to thank you enough!

Like I said I am doing grand and hopefully you are too.

Howard is it?

Sounds like things are heating up between the two of you!

"Fondue"?

Right...

Any who it is almost 13:30AM.

Goodnight or morning or whichever time you get this.

Love,
Peggy.

I'll be sure to write her and my father later. But, for now, I have a war to win and my soldiers to train.

I fix my tie and head out the curtains into the bright and burning sunlight.

"Morning." Someone says and I whip my head to the left to find Barnes leaning against the tent, eating an apple.

I sigh and walk to General Phillip with a smile.

"Morning Ms. Boise..." He looks over my shoulder with a quirked eyebrow, "what's he in for?"

"Hmm?" I turn and find James following me.

"I don't know." I say glaring at him though he smiles. "Must be eager to start the day." I say turning back to the general.

"Well, I'm not. That suns gonna be cooking us out here all damn day." He sighs and hops into a wagon with Mr. Duffy.

I stomp off and into the dinning hall. More like room. Its huge.

Howard spies me and immediately walks up to me.

"Good morning, Boise." He smirks playfully and I nod walking past him. "Stark." I reply.

"Good morning Lily, I think I'll just have some toast today. Make sure these guys eat lightly, unless they want to be puking their guts out because of the heat." I say and she laughs.

"Yeah no problem. I'm glad I'm out here rather than that hot kitchen!" She smiles and grabs a thin plastic plate with two pieces of lightly buttered toast on it. "Thanks hun." I smile, taking the plate from her and she waves me off, "Its nothin'."

I find a spot alone and eat my toast quietly, though I know many eyes are on me. But I'm used to a mans attention now. Frightening at the very beginning but my father was there and he taught me well. And I taught Peg.

I hope they're alright. My father wasn't so excited knowing his 'little girl' is off to war. I mean, I wouldn't be too thrilled either. I most likely wouldn't allow it but, that's where I love my dad most;

He knows if your heart is set on something and will let you get away with it. Even if it endangers your well being.

I drink some water and finish my breakfast before throwing away my garbage and heading towards the camp.

"Alright lads, we'll start off with some stretches. Today's magic number is..." I think to myself and they all yawn, obviously restless. "I'll be soft today, thirty of each."

"You call that being gentle?" One scoffs.

"Thirty-one." I smirk and he holds his arms up in retreat.

They all begin their stretching, some showing off and flexing their muscles and whistling to get my attention though I just look them up and down and laugh.

It may not make them feel better but I'm enjoying my stay here so far.

That was obviously a joke.

"Thirty-one." They all pant one after the other.

"Alright, I'll cut you guys some slack... I guess. We'll only being doing the mud run and ropes. First, ropes!" I shout and they nod; "Yes ma'am!"

I hop in the wagon with Duffy and we ride alongside them as they run. All panting like dogs and sweating like pigs.

"You...must be...having the time of your life... Up there." Hollow head runs up to the back where I sit. Hollow head aka Bucky Barnes.

I sigh, "actually no."

"Oh, you must be tired, here why don't you just lay down and... Relax." He pauses to take a breath and I narrow my brows angered.

"No thank you. Run along... Now." I say strictly and he smiles and winks before running past a couple others to the front.

We arrive at the flag post yet again and I sigh, pulling out my day plan and go over it.

"Alright men, get that flag!" Duffy yells.

Rough grunts and scraping like noises sound a second later. Revealing their failure.

"Okay, next time, next time!!" Duffy repeats, "rally up guys! Let's go!" He adds and the buggy fires up and we ride to the mud pits where I hop out.

"Alright. You all should be excited to climb in there." I smile and they all huff angrily.

"Its cold mud. Because it usually stays cool while that blistering sun bites." As I say this they cheer and get in formation.

"That's the spirit lads! Now go!" I yell and they're off. Slipping, sliding, and laughing. Its nice to hear laughter at such a tough and sad time like this.

I begin to laugh when they start throwing it at each other but then Michael shoots me a look and I clear my throat.

After about an hour or two their all exhausted, making mud angels and enjoying themselves.

"Okay guys, its time to hit the showers. Wipe some off along the way or flaunt it." I laugh, "either way its up to you."

I hop back into the Buggy and they run back to the base and we all shower and prepare for dinner.
