The first thing Darra noticed was the lake opposite them, on the other sidewalk when he turned around. He just felt agitated, his happiness short-lived as he began to understand it all. This was the nightmare repeating itself over and over again.

The memory of Juan's smirk came back in his head flooding his mind like a tsunami, the biology teacher smirking at Darra suddenly popped up from nowhere in his head, the memory of the unusual flower and its unearthly scent filled his nose yet he was nowhere near it, almost like a lucid dream, the song that he heard early in the morning began to play in his head, making his blood increase the rate at which it was flowing, but his heart rate not changing the speed at all, then Peter Darnsworth, a person Darra knew nothing about was all he could think of that particular moment.

He didn't like this. He didn't like this one bit as he grew a determined look on his face. He didn't want to result in this solution, but he was going to get lost once again, he was going back to lake Nava, he was going to have all his questions answered. He was going to break out tonight, to venture far beyond, and find what his heart long desired, but he didn't exactly know what it was.

'When the first snow hits the face of the earth, huh...not too long now!' Darra's eyes widened as he heard the voice whisper in his ear, then he remembered it all. He looked over to Lilly, who had a smile sealed on her face as she walked ahead. Darra looked ahead as well, feeling so sad that he was going to leave Lilly, and possibly not return.

"Hey, Lilly..." Darra dared to speak as he broke the silence between the two. Hearing an "mhm" from Lilly gave him the chance to speak as she approved. "What would be the worst thing ever to happen in your life?" Darra's question was so sudden, so out of the blue, and that alerted Lilly as soon as she heard his question. "Why do you ask?"

"Curiosity,"

"Ever heard the saying, curiosity killed the cat?"

"Well, at least the cat learned its lesson." They were firing at each other, back and forth until he left Lilly at a loss for words. She sighed, giving in to Darra's question. Now that she took time to actually think about it, soon realized she didn't really have an answer.

But one thing was settled in her mind. She looked down at the sidewalk and kicked a pebble she was approaching, "I don't know...I guess it would be losing the ones I love, the ones dear to me, ya know?" She looked up at the sky, hues of pink, purple, and orange could be seen in the sky but could be identified easily since the colors didn't mix.

The sun was setting. "Lilly, am I dear to you?" This sudden outburst surprised even Darra himself. The question just rolled off his tongue as he couldn't keep it to himself any longer. The thought was burning deep down inside of him and all he could do about it was if he manned up and asked straight to her face. She stopped, Darra moving a few steps ahead before noticing that he left Lilly behind him. "huh?"

"Of course you are. You're my friend!" She spoke softly, looking up at Darra, her dark blue eyes shining with hope, joy, excitement, and wonder as she truly meant what she said, glints of tears in her eyes were barely visible, but still there.

Darra looked at her in awe, coming back to his senses and smiling, looking down in shame as he couldn't even bear to look at himself at the moment. 'Then I guess that's one crossed off your list' He thought to himself, massive amounts of guilt and sadness settled at the pit of his stomach. There was no turning back, not now, not ever.

Lilly took hold of Darra's hand once more, looking him in the eye with a reassuring smile on her face, as she looked ahead, and they both headed home. The home Darra knew he'd have for tonight, claiming it as the last night of his life in that mansion.

maybe he'd live...in a whole other world that is!
