The foursome is seen being escorted by the van as they talk about what transpired moments ago. Natasha and Daikon are bleeding from their woods, but Daikon had it worse than his mother.

Steve: It was him. He looked right at me like he didn't even know me.

Sam: How's that even possible? It was like seventy years ago.

Steve: Zola. Bucky's whole unit was captured in '43, Zola experimented on him. Whatever he did helped Bucky survive the fall. They must have found him and...

Natasha: None of that's your fault, Steve.

Steve: Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky.

Sam sees Daikon and Natasha bleeding from their wounds and talks to the guards watching them.

Sam: We need to get a doctor here. We don't put pressure on those wounds, they're going bleed out here in the truck.

Suddenly, one of the guards pulls out an electric rod and neutralizes the other guard, and knocks him out. Everyone was confused until the guard is revealed to be Maria Hill as she takes off her helmet.

Maria: Ah. That thing was squeezing my brain.

Everyone stares at her as she looks at Sam in confusion.

Maria: Who's this guy?

*later*

After secretly getting out of the van, they were taken to a secret facility by Maria. A doctor is seen heading towards them.

Maria: GSW. She's lost at least a pint. He, stab wound to his side, along with bruises and scratches.

Doctor: Let me take them.

Maria: They'll want to see him first.

Hill takes them to a room. She opens it and they see Nick, laying on a bed, still hurt, but very much alive. Everyone but Maria was shocked to see him still alive after they saw him die at the hospital.

Nick: About damn time.

Later, the doctor is seen tending to Natasha and Daikon, who paid no attention to him as they stare at Nick, still couldn't believe he's still living.

Nick: Lacerated spinal column, a cracked sternum, shattered collarbone, perforated liver, one hell of a headache.

Doctor: Don't forget your collapsed lung.

Nick: Oh, let's not forget that. Otherwise, I'm good.

Natasha: They cut you open, your heart stopped.

Daikon: We saw you died. How is this possible?

Nick: Tetrodotoxin B. Slows the pulse to one beat a minute. Banner developed it for stress. Didn't work so great for him, but we found a use for it.

Steve: Why all the secrecy? Why not just tell us?

Maria: Any attempt on the director's life had to look successful.

Nick: Can't kill you if you're already dead. Besides, I wasn't sure who to trust.

*later*

After Nick got out of the bed and Daikon's and Natasha's wounds are tended to, they all sat and talk about what they should do next.

Nick: *pulls out a picture of Alexander Pierce* This man declined the Nobel Peace Prize. He said, "Peace wasn't an achievement, it was a responsibility." See, it's stuff like this that gives me trust issues.

Natasha: We have to stop the launch.

Nick Fury: I don't think the Council's accepting my calls anymore.

He pulls out a case and opens it, revealing Three Chips.

Sam: What's that?

Maria: Once the Helicarriers reach three thousand feet, they'll triangulate with Insight satellites becoming fully weaponized.

Nick: We need to breach those carriers and replace their targeting blades with our own.

Maria: One or two won't cut it. We need to link all three carriers for this to work because if even one of those ships remains operational a whole lot of people are gonna die.

Nick: We have to assume everyone aboard those carriers is HYDRA. We need to get pass them, insert the server blades, and maybe, just maybe, we can salvage what's left...

Steve: We're not salvaging anything. We're not just taking down the carriers, Nick, we're taking down SHIELD.

Nick: SHIELD had nothing to do with it.

Steve: You gave me this mission, this is how it ends. SHIELD's been compromised, you said so yourself. HYDRA grew right under your nose and nobody noticed.

Nick: Why do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed.

Steve: And how many paid the price before you did?

Nick: Look, I didn't know about Barnes.

Steve: Even if you have, would you have told me? Or would you have compartmentalized that too? SHIELD, HYDRA, it all goes.

Maria: He's right.

Nick looks at Nat, who's pretty much on Steve's side in this. He looks at Sam.

Sam: Don't look at me. I do what he does, just slower.

He nods and looks at Daikon.

Daikon: Anything to get my hands on that bastard. I'm with Cap.

Nick: Well... Looks like you're giving the orders now, Captain.

*later*

Steve is seen looking over the forest on the bridge as he thinks about memories he had with Bucky, mostly remembering how Bucky was with him for his mother's funeral.

As he thinks about it, Daikon goes up to him and stands next to him, looking at the forest. After a few moments of silence, he spoke.

Daikon: You know...I understand that your buddy isn't responsible, but I will never forgive him for putting me through a lot of pain and trauma I endured for 13 years.

Steve looks at him as Daikon just looks at the forest, as he continues to speak.

Daikon: I can remember the day I was strapped in a bed, scientists looking over at me, then inserting a needle with a serum into my body. I remember the screams I had from the pain of the serum going through my veins as I was slowly knocked out by anesthesia. I remember the screams and moaning of many other test subjects as the same serum I was injected to slowly die from its effects.

Steve looks at him astonished by this terrible backstory. Daikon is seen leaking a tear but kept his composure.

Daikon: And I remember these exact words that drove me to kill anyone that stood in my way. 'I will be the next Winter Soldier.' Since then, I was uncontrolled, the serum had the side effect that drove me to angry episodes, with my hatred of the Soldier growing each year until SHIELD broke me out.

He then turns his eyes towards Steve.

Daikon: And now...he hurts me once more by shooting my mother. And now, with the truth of his identity revealed, I want to ask you something, Steve. When this is over, and somehow Barnes is still alive...are you willing to go against me when I will track him down and kill him?

Steve stares at his eyes and sees the pain and anger behind them. He knew Daikon wasn't kidding after his fight with Bucky, which shows he wanted to kill him. As for the question, Steve took a moment of silence before responding.

Steve: I don know.

Daikon: ...That's what I thought.

He walks away, not saying another word.

*back inside the facility*

Daikon is seen reading a revolver and rifle, along with a knife for the plan to bring down HYDRA and Project Insight. As he was getting ready, Natasha arrives and places a suitcase in front of him.

Daikon: *confused* What's this?

Natasha: I was planning on giving this to you for your birthday, but I decided that you should wear it now, after the fight you had with Barnes.

Daikon looks at her surprised at this and he opens it. He looks and his eyes widen, as Natasha smiles at him.

Daikon: *still in shock* Really?

Natasha: *nods* You earned it, мой маленький паук.

Daikon gets up and hugs her as she hugs back.

Daikon: Thank you, мама паук.

*later*

Sam, Maria, and Steve are seen heading the Triskelion on foot. Steve has his original Captain America outfit on, after "borrowing it" from the Smithsonian Museum.

Soon, Daikon arrives to join, and they noticed he's wearing a different outfit. He sports a new Dark Grey Gi, black look sleeve undershirt and baggy pants, white boots, and a red belt.

He also carries a revolver on his hip and a Kitana, being held behind his back.

Daikon: How do you I look?

Sam: Badass.

Maria: It fits you very well.

Steve: Really brings out the fighter in you.

Daikon smiles as they make their way to the Triskelion. They're all ready to stop The three Helicarriers from being launched and kill millions of people.
