Daikon went to their apartment and grab some of their stuff, after he and Natasha found a hard drive that was put in a vending machine, most likely by Steve. He puts some stuff in a bag and quickly heads back to the hospital. He looks for his mom, but he couldn't find her, that is until he sees Steve pinning Natasha against the wall of the room.

Whatever conversation they're having fell on deaf ears as Daikon got angry. He drops the bag and walks towards them. Natasha sees him, but before she could say anything, Daikon punches Steve in the side, grabs him by the throat, and lifts him off the floor.

Natasha: Daikon, no!

Steve stares at Daikon in shock. He never thought to see him with this much strength. He struggles to break free but Daikon has a hard grip on his throat with a cold stare.

Natasha: *grabs his arm* Daikon put him down! *calmly* Please.

Daikon looks at her, his angry face going down, before releasing Rogers, dropping him on the floor. Steve gasps for air as Daikon sat at a chair, taking deep breaths. Natasha leans over and places her hands on his head and cheek as he stares at her.

Natasha: *rubs his head and cheek* That's it. Calm down. There's no need to be angry right now. It's okay.

Steve looks on with a bit of surprise and confusion. He had never seen Natasha being this kind and gentle to others, and he was confused at why she referred to 'Daniel' as Daikon. Daikon continues to stare at her and take deep breaths. Soon, he closes his eyes, takes a deeper breath, and sighs.

Natasha: There. Now, you're relaxed?

Daikon nods as he and Nat stand up and look at Steve.

Natasha: Sorry about that. He has trouble controlling his emotions.

Daikon nods as Steve look at them in confusion.

Daikon: *sighs* My real name is Daikon. Daikon Romanoff.

Steve: Romanoff? Does that mean-

Natasha: Yes. He's my son, who I adopted years ago.

Steve: *still a bit confused* I see.

Natasha: We'll talk about this later. We need to go. Now.

They nod and they quickly leave the hospital.

*later*

Steve, Natasha, and Daikon are seen walking through the mall, to look into the hard drive Nick left for Steve to see. Both Cap and Widow are wearing civilian clothing, but Daikon has a more different outfit. They both didn't question why he's wearing this.

Natasha: First rule of going on the run is, don't run, walk.

Steve: If I run in these shoes, they're gonna fall off.

They entered the Mac store and went up to a computer.

Natasha: The drive has a Level Six homing program, so as soon as we boot up SHIELD will know exactly where we are.

Steve: How much time do we have?

Daikon: Around 9 minutes from...

Natasha pops the drive into the MacBook.

Natasha: Now. Fury was right about that ship, somebody's trying to hide something. This drive is protected by some sort of AI, it keeps rewriting itself to counter my commands.

Steve: Can you override it?

Daikon: The person who developed this is slightly smarter than us. Keyword: slightly.

Natasha continues going through the drive, as she tries to read it.

Natasha: I'm gonna try running a tracer. This is a program that SHIELD developed to track hostile malware, so if we can't read the file, maybe we can find out where it came from.

Soon, an employee went up to them.

Employee: Can I help you guys with anything?

Natasha: Oh, no. My fiancé was just helping me with some honeymoon destinations.

Steve Rogers: Right! We're getting married.

Daikon: And I'm the Best Man.

Employee: Congratulations. Where do you guys thinking about going?

Daikon: I was thinking of somewhere in Texas, but ultimately they decided on...

Steve looks at the monitor and sees the signal traced to somewhere in New Jersey.

Steve: New Jersey.

Employee: Oh.

He stares at Steve for a bit, making him a bit uneased.

Employee: I have the exact same glasses.

Natasha: Wow, you two are practically twins.

Employee: Yeah, I wish. Specimen. Uh...if you guys need anything, I've been Aaron. *leaves*

Steve: Thank you. *looks at Natasha* It's been 9 minutes, come on.

Natasha: Shh, relax. Got it. *finds a signal in Wheaton, NJ* You know it?

Steve: I used to. Let's go. *grabs the drive and they all walk out* Standard tac-team. Two behind, to across, two coming straight at us. If they make us, I'll engage, you hit the south escalator to the metro.

Soon, two agents are coming straight towards them.

Natasha: You two, laugh at something I said.

Steve: What?

Natasha: Do it!

They laughed as Nat put Steve's arm around her shoulder, making Daikon raise a brow a bit. The agents pass them as they head down from the escalator, but they see Rumlow going up next to them.

Natasha: Kiss me.

Steve/Daikon: What?

Natasha: Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable.

Steve: Yes, they do.

She pulls down Steve's head and kisses him making Rumlow look away as he goes past them on the escalator. Daikon, though unable to see his reaction from his glasses, has both his eyebrows raised. Soon, stop kissing and made it down.

Natasha: You still uncomfortable?

Steve: It's not exactly the word I would use.

Daikon: I can't think of any word, of any language, in any dictionary, to describe what I just saw.

Natasha: Yeah, well you better not tell it to anyone, understand?

Daikon: No worries. *cheeky smile*

Natasha: Daikon, I know you're smiling.

Daikon: I'm not.

Natasha: Then why did I hear you giggling for a bit?

Daikon just stayed quiet, but still smiles as Natasha and Steve sighed. Daikon will not keep this a secret for them.

*later*

They grab a truck and drive off to New Jersey as Daikon lays down at the back seat, listening to music.

Natasha: Where did Captain America learn how to steal a car?

Steve: Nazi Germany.

Natasha: Mm.

Steve Rogers: And we're borrowing. Take your feet off the dash.

Nat: *takes her feet off the dash* Alright, I have a question for you, oh, which you do not have to answer. I feel like if you don't answer it though, you're kind of answering it, you know?

Steve: What?

Natasha: Was that your first kiss since 1945?

Daikon stops his music, as he wants to hear it too.

Steve: That bad, huh?

Natasha: I didn't say that.

Steve: Well, it kind of sounds like that's what you're saying.

Natasha: No, I didn't. I just wondered how much practice you've had.

Steve: You don't need practice.

Natasha: Everybody needs practice.

Steve: It was not my first kiss since 1945. I'm ninety-five, I'm not dead.

Natasha: Nobody special, though?

Steve: *chuckles* Believe it or not, it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience.

Natasha: Well, that's alright, you just make something up.

Steve: What, like you and Daikon?

Natasha: I don't know. The truth is a matter of circumstances, it's not all things to all people all the time. And neither are us.

Steve: That's a tough way to live.

Natasha: It's a good way not to die, though.

Steve: You know, it's kind of hard to trust someone when you don't know who that someone really is.

Natasha: Yeah. Who do you want me to be?

Steve: How about a friend?

Natasha: *chuckles* Well, there's a chance you might be in the wrong business, Rogers.

Daikon chuckles as they look at him, realizing he heard them.

Steve: You heard the entire conversation, have you?

Daikon: Noooo...okay I did.

Natasha: You like to be nosy, do you?

Daikon: What? I just like to hear both of you have a nice conversation, without killing each other.

Steve: Not like what happened earlier, right?

Daikon's cheeky side goes down a bit as he puts o his headphones and plays some music. Steve looks at him in confusion, but with concern as well.

Natasha: Don't worry. That wasn't the best way for him to reveal what he can do.

Steve: What can he do?

Natasha: Not allowed to say. Only Daikon will tell you that.

Steve nods as he continues driving. Put the memory of Daikon holding him up by his neck while glaring at him was still in his mind. He wonders how Daikon managed to be this strong but has so much rage inside him.

*later*

They arrive at the military base. They went into the building after Steve had some flashbacks of his time here years ago. They later entered an office that once held the first meeting of SHIELD. Steve later pushes a bookshelf which opens an elevator. They go down the elevator which takes them to a room with old-looking computers.

Natasha: This can't be the data-point, this technology is ancient.

Natasha notices a small flash drive port, she places the flash drive in it which then activates the ancient computer in the room.

Computer: Initiate system?

Natasha: *typing on the keyboard* Y-E-S, spells yes. *smiles as the computer starts up* "Shall we play a game?" *to Steve* It's from a movie that-

Steve: Yeah, I saw it.

Daikon: Interesting.

Soon, they hear a voice speaking with a German accent. The camera turns to Steve.

Computer: Rogers, Steven. Born, 1918. *turns to Natasha* Romanoff, Natalia Alianovna. Born, 1984. *turns to Daikon* Subject #0127. Born, 1996.

Daikon's eyes widen, as he hasn't heard that number since 2009 when Natasha and SHIELD rescued him. Natasha was also surprised, as she remembered what number Daikon was labeled before.

Natasha: It's some kind of a recording.

Dr. Arnim Zola: I am not a recording, Fräulein. I may not be the man I was when the Captain took me, prisoner, in 1945, but I am. *shows photos of himself from years ago*

Natasha: Do you know this thing?

Steve: Arnim Zola was a German scientist who worked for the Red Skull. He's been dead for years.

Arnim Zola: First correction, I am Swiss. Second, look around you. I have never been more alive. In 1972 I received a terminal diagnosis. Science could not save my body, my mind, however, that was worth saving on two hundred thousand feet of data banks. You are standing in my brain.

Daikon: How did you get here?

Arnim Zola: Invited.

Natasha: It was Operation Paperclip after World War II. SHIELD recruited German scientists with strategic value.

Arnim Zola: They thought I could help their cause. I also helped my own.

Steve: HYDRA died with the Red Skull.

Arnim Zola: Cut off one head, two more shall take its place.

Steve: Prove it.

Soon, Zola shows footage of Joseph Schmidt, aka Red Skull, then with SHIELD.

Arnim Zola: Accessing archive. HYDRA was founded on the belief that humanity could not be trusted with its own freedom. What we did not realize, was that if you try to take that freedom, they resist. The war taught us much. Humanity needed to surrender its freedom willingly. After the war, SHIELD was founded and I was recruited. The new HYDRA grew. A beautiful parasite inside SHIELD. For seventy years HYDRA has been secretly feeding crisis, reaping war. And when history did not cooperate, history was changed.

Natasha: That's impossible, SHIELD would have stopped you.

Dr. Arnim Zola: Accidents will happen.

He shows them HYDRA had killed Howard and Maria Stark making it look like a car accident along with the recent death of Fury. Daikon was getting angry as Zola continues.

Arnim Zola: HYDRA created a world so chaotic that humanity is finally ready to sacrifice its freedom to gain its security. Once the purification process is complete, HYDRA's new world order will arise. We won, Captain. Your death amounts to the same as your Life; a zero-sum.

Daikon punches the computer screen with his bare hand, ignoring any sparks and shark glass contacting his skin.

Arnim Zola: As I was-

Daikon: *demanding tone* What's on the drive?

Arnim Zola: Project Insight requires insight. So I wrote an algorithm.

Natasha Romanoff: What kind of algorithm? What does it do?

Dr. Arnim Zola: The answer to your question is fascinating. Unfortunately, you shall be too dead to hear it.

Suddenly, they see the door closing as Cap throws his shield, but was too late as it closes shut. Soon, Natasha looks at her device and was shocked to see what is happening.

Natasha: Guys, we got a bogey. Short-range ballistic. 30 seconds tops.

Daikon: Who fired?

Natasha: SHIELD.

Arnim Zola: I am afraid I have been stalling, Captain. Admit it, it's better this way. We're both of us...out of time.

Daikon notices a small opening on the ground, he throws the metal door aside and as the place explodes, he sends Steve, Nat, and himself into the hole as Steve protects them with his shield while Daikon protects his mother.

As the explosion dies down, they got out of the hole, as Daikon is seen carrying his mother, who went unconscious, in a bridal position.

Daikon: We need to go before they'll come and see us.

Steve: I know where to go. Come on.
