Nico knew more than he let on, and planned to keep it that way.

Nico was thrilled to learn that his and Biffle's plans had worked, but noticed less of a sparkle in Biffle's eyes when he talked about it, as if he was torn that the plan was working better than expected as the days carried on.

Sigils and Henwy had become way closer friends during their campaign for mayors. Best friends, even. Biffle would often visit Nico, just to tell him about his day and what he planned on doing. Nico would listen carefully and noticed that he avoided talking about Sigils.

See, Biffle always had a habit of going out of his way to talk to Nico about normal, everyday things. But now, he was doing it more frequently and Nico noticed how little he went to see Sigils.

Nico was thinking about this when Biffle arrived at around the same time he would everyday.

"Hey, Nico! You'll never guess what happened. Jerome, Raf, and I took that one trail to the top of Everest and we found goats! We brought a few back and was able to get a few horns in the process," Biffle rubbed his arm where a small bruise was forming.

Nico chuckled, "That's great, man!"

Biffle sat down and started rambling about the view from the tallest mountain within walking distance. Nico listened quietly before finally asking one of his questions that had been circling in his mind all day.

"Hey Biffle, are you still 'friends' with Sigils?"

Biffle paused but didn't hesitate for long, "Of course, why wouldn't I be?" Biffle said that as if he was trying to convince himself that it was true.

Nico cursed silently at himself, "Nothing, it's just..." he trailed off for a moment, "You haven't been talking about Sigils like you used to, and you seem almost envious of Henwy."

Biffle looked away and stared intently at Nico's window.

"I don't know what it is but it feels like Sigils is pushing me away so he can go frolic in fields with Henwy," Biffle's eyes hardened. Nico had never heard so much aggression from Biffle.

Nico glanced out the window as well and saw Sigils and Henwy walking through camp with Kate and Siimii. Nico assumed they were talking about Sigils' and Henwy's plans if they won the election. Nico knew little about it. Something about building a Town Hall and a Bank. There was more to it that the two had yet to tell him.

Biffle rose from his chair and turned to leave.

"Biffle," Nico spoke as soon as the mayor's hand rested on the door knob.

Biffle turned his head slightly towards Nico.

"Remember what we are doing this for."
