Chapter Thirteen 

i would've tried to stop him

3rd person pov 

she felt the blast of it all and she heard it too. she was gone, he was dead and he wasn't coming back. she looked around and then at the ground. it was all too real and she hated that. she couldn't change any of it and she didn't know what to do 

"mars you in here?" she heard and she turned to see gar standing in the doorway again. he was the one person that she felt like she could lean on and actually trust now 

"hes dead isn't he?" she asked and he nodded. tears drifted down his face and she walked forward as she hugged him and he hugged her back. she looked over his shoulder to see dick staring at them and she smiled sadly at him making him smile sadly back. 

"hey are you two okay?" dick asked and kamari let go of gar who shrugged 

"dawn is leaving so i suggest saying goodbye to her" dick said and she nodded as she walked out and followed to their private airport. 

"leaving?" she called to dawn who turned to her and sighed. 

"is this how you felt when jason died?" she asked and kamari sighed and looked around. she shook her head and then grabbed dawns hand 

"no because when jason died, it wasn't by someone i loved and trusted. look you have to believe me when i say that i didn't know that he was going to do that and if i did, i would've tried to stop him I'm so sorry dawn"she said and dawn hugged her as kamari hugged her back 

"be safe dawn" she told her and dawn nodded 

"i should be telling you that" dawn stated and kamari laughed as they let go and dawn got on the plane. kamari waved as the plane flew off and she sighed. after that, she went back to the tower and walked into one of the rooms, she saw gar and kory together. gar had his arm wrapped and he turned to kamari 

"i thought i saw you leave" he said to her and she nodded before she looked at kory in the tube 

"i did, had to say goodbye to dawn but I'm back now" she said and he nodded before they looked at kory again.

"so what is this?" she asked 

"korys been having visions and in here, it puts her in them. she cant hurt us and she can only deal with the visions" gar explained but then all of a sudden it went to shit. kamari was knocked out with gar and they were forced into the car. 

when they woke up, kamari looked up from the backseat and saw kory in the front 

"kory what the fuck?" she asked and kory turned to her 

"what the hell happened?" kory asked 

"yeah gar can tell you" she said and she got out as she walked to the back with kory 

"let me out of here" gar yelled out 

"who is me?" kory asked 

"gar" he said 

"gar" kory exclaimed and they let gar out. he grabbed kamaris hand and brought her away from kory before turning to her 

"i try to help you and this is the thanks i get? you knock me out, throw me in the back trunk and drive me out to... where the hell even is this?" gar asked 

"that was me?" kory asked 

"yeah, you went into a trance, broke out of the isolation chamber and when me and kamari tried to stop you, you punched me in the face and punched her in the stomach making her fall and get knocked out" gar explained 

"that's bad. that's really bad" kory said 

"yeah no shit" kamari agreed 

"and I'm through being nice, taking care of all of you. you, conner and everybody else sucks" gar said and kamari let go of his hand 

"hey woah" kamari said and he turned to her 

"not you, everyone else but you" he stated and she laughed before they turned to kory and she started to cry 

"you drove out here asleep?" gar asked 

"yeah" kory stated 

"where are we?" kamari asked 

"i don't know. i just woke up and i was parked here" kory told them 

"what did you see this time in your vision?" he asked 

"backfire" kory said and kamari groaned 

"oh the infamous sister, great" kamari said and gar nudged her 

"i don't know. it feels like I'm supposed to be here, like she brought me here" kory told them 

"she brought you to the middle of nowhere?" he asked 

"the car. move it" gar said and kory moved it as they saw something under the car and gar pulled it up as they looked down and then at each other   

"lets go" kamari said and they walked down the hatch together. 

"watch my back. blackfire probably knows we're here" kory said 

"feel free to watch mine too" gar said and kamari nodded as she made her vines into a protective shield around them as they kept walking 

"this doorway, I've seen it in my dreams. we're in the right place. oh my god" kory said as they looked at blackfire in an incubator 

"oh, snap. i knew i was right. i knew it. you just have these theories, you talk to yourself in the mirror, you convince yourself you're not cuckoo cocoa puffs crazy. you know because there's no one really down here to talk to in a meaningful connected way but man just like magic, here you are. sorry about that, i got lost there for a second. you three probably have some questions" he said and kamari nodded 

"I'm going to go look around. you two handle this "kamari told them and they began talking to the man as kamari walked off. she looked around until she heard footsteps and turned to see gar and kory 

"lets go" kory said and she nodded. she walked with them , she was the first one to go up and didn't even notice that gar and kory weren't following her. 

once she got in the car, she started it and waited for them. they soon walked out with blackfire and kamari sighed 

"get in, lets go" she said and they all got in as she drove off. 

why did they have blackfire? she didn't know but she would soon find out
