Chapter Twenty-Four

3rd person pov 

kamari and jason went down to the batcave as they began to research the women and anything about her. kamari came up dry and so did jason, it was like she was dead, she didn't exist and kamari didn't know what to do. 

"did you find anything?" jason called to her and she turned to him as she shook her head and sighed. she ran a hand through her hair as she looked over the laptop again but nothing. 

"theres nothing here, this women doesn't exist, at least not in gotham but i haven't checked metropolis. have you found anything?" she asked as she turned to him and watched him shake his head. 

"nothing" he told her and they both sighed. she heard her phone ring again and she picked it up. 

"hey mars, did you find anything?" tim asked 

"nothing, its a pure dark hole, theres nothing here for me to find" she told them and then she heard the others voices. 

"MARI" she heard and she laughed with a smile on her face making jason smile too. 

"hi guys" she exclaimed 

"we miss you, how are you?" kory asked and kamari sighed. 

"im good, saving gotham one bad guy at a time" she told them and dick smiled at her voice 

"im proud of you for knowing what you need mars, you've always known" he stated and she nodded 

"we wish you could be here" conner said and she smiled. 

"i do too but you guys are saving people and i am too. this is a good thing for all of us" she explained and heard rachel sigh. 

"kamari?" 

"yeah rach?" 

"can i call you later? just us?" 

"yeah of course, im here for all of you no matter what" she told them and rachel smiled

"thanks kam, we'll let you go because we have some shit to deal with but ill call later and check in" 

"alright bye guys" 

"bye mars" and the call ended. she turned to jason and he smiled at her as she smiled 

"they miss you, you guys are still a family" he exclaimed and she nodded as she stood up and walked over to him. she wrapped her arms around his neck as she leaned her chin on his shoulder and his hands raised to run over hers

"yeah, i guess we still work" she told him and he smiled up at her 

"like the way we work?" 

"not at all because me and you are different then me and them, they're my family. some people who picked me up from the street and decided that i was good enough to be apart of their family" she exclaimed 

"and what am i?" 

"the person who decided that even after everything everyone put him through, he trusted me of all people, he let me be there for him, youre the person i fell in love with jason, youre my other half" she led off. 

"your boyfriend?" he asked 

"is that you asking me to be my boyfriend again?" she questioned and he nodded 

"yes but only if you say yes, if you say no i will act like i didnt ask you" he said and she smiled at him as she shook her head and sighed

"of course ill be your girlfriend again jason" she exclaimed and he smiled as he kissed her and she kissed him back. she sighed as they pulled away and then she got another call. she answered it and saw that it was harley

"harley, what have you got for me?" she asked the women and jason stared at her shocked that she was talking to harley quinn

"so i looked everywhere, i found a few things that make some sense but you might need to read it over for me and make sure that i got this right" harley said and kamari smiled 

"yep alright tell me what you got" she told her and harley began to give her the facts of what she found as kamari wrote it all down for herself and jason. 

"is that everything?" kamari asked 

"thats everything, does that make sense to you?" harley asked and kamari read over it as she nodded and looked towards jason as he read it over with her

"yeah no everything makes alot of sense to be honest, thank you so much harley, this was alot of help" she told her and harley smiled

"of course darling, call me if you ever need anything else" she said and she ended the call.

"you and harley quinn are friends?" 

"well she is my moms ex girlfriend"

"poison ivy and harley quinn were in love?" 

"jesus i really need to catch you up on everything but yes they were. i called harley because she was the only one who could help me decode things and we've been working together ever since. my mom knows and shes okay with it" she explained to jason and jason nodded in understanding. 

"so you two are partners?" 

"acquitances who help each other some times" she corrected 

"makes sense so what do we do now?" he asked and she shrugged in unknowing

"i have no idea, usually i wait for the alarm to go off or i wait for them to call me" she told him and then they heard the alarm go off. kamari turned to jason and they smiled. they went to change and then they left together. 

that was the first night they had gone on patrol together officially and that was the first night, they worked together as couple but as partners in crime. it wouldn't be the last time though
