Author Birthday Special

A/n: My birthday was on Saturday (the 18th) and not only am I now 16, I also got a really good idea for a oneshot. I've been super busy this week, but finally found time to write this! This isn't canon to the story. There are mentions of things that are/will be canon, but the oneshot itself isn't canon.

~*~

Waking up was always a pain, but that was the teenager side of you more than anything. Feeling surprisingly well rested, you reached over to shut off the annoying sound of the alarm next to you-

You never set an alarm. None of the league would have set one either because there was nothing important going on. If there was, you'd know.

Shooting up in bed - bed! You didn't have a bed, you had a pile of blankets - you looked at the room around you. It was Bakugou's room in UA. You'd been in there plenty of times, and knew the plain walls and single All Might poster well enough.

Jumping out of the bed, you surveyed the room. Bakugou himself was nowhere in sight, so it wasn't like your brain wasn't working and you'd forgotten about falling asleep in his room. Cautiously moving out from under the covers, your hand made you pause.

Following the hand up your arm, your heart continued to drop. From the calloused palm to the incredibly muscular bicep, you knew that something was wrong. You had muscle from so much time put into training and fighting for your life, but your body wasn't made to be muscular like the arm you were staring out.

Jerking out from under the covers, you nearly tripped on air in your haste to get to the connected bathroom. What greeted you in the mirror was not a familiar (H/c) bedhead. It was blonde spikes. Whimpering slightly, the noise sounded foreign yet familiar. Bakugou's voice.

"Shit, oh shit," swearing sounded familiar, but rather than the normal angry it was panicked, "How- oh fuck."

The night before you were working on your online schoolwork at the library (keeping up with it had become really hard now that you didn't have a good living situation) and was getting ready to leave when someone ran into you and dropped their books. It was like a flashlight shined in your eyes when your hands touched. The woman you ran into didn't act any different, so you assumed it was a harmless Quirk and went on with your night.

Obviously, it wasn't so harmless.

What were the parameters? It wasn't touch based. You hadn't visited Bakugou in nearly a week and you'd touched plenty of people between then. It wasn't thought based either. Your thoughts were on the League and classwork, not Bakugou. It wasn't like there was anything connecting you two-

Oh no.

"Attraction," you facepalmed, the force you used much more painful than it would normally be thanks to Bakugou's uncanny strength.

The Quirk was probably based on something along the lines of romantic attraction. The person you were most attracted to was the person you switched bodies with.

All you could do was play along with Bakugou's life until you went back to your own body - however long that would take.

Hang on. If you were in Bakugou's body. Did that mean he was in yours?

Running over to Bakugou's phone, you were thankful you could simply use his fingerprint to get in. You searched through his recent messages, finding your thread. Your contact name was Bitch Battery. Cute.

Bakugou!

Answer as soon as you can!

We have a problem!

The League would be quick to sniff out if something was wrong if Bakugou wasn't careful. They couldn't destroy your body, but that didn't mean they couldn't do other things. Or, if Bakugou so wished, he could simply walk you to the police station. That seemed much less likely than Bakugou simply being discovered.

Bitch Battery: The fuck?

Bitch Battery: If you don't epxlain I'm going to kill all these damn villains

We switched bodies apparently. I don't know how long it's going to last. Let's hope not long. Let's get through the day and meet up tonight

Bitch Battery: I'm not spending the day surrounded by villains

Then tell them you're going shopping or something, they trust me.

Bitch Battery: I'm going to fight the bastards and turn them in

And me get arrested along the way?! No! If the police don't arrest me then the league will kill me for betraying them.

Bitch Battery: THEY FUCKING KIDNAPPED ME

I know you're probably panicking rn. Just take deep breaths and get out when you can. If you fight them and ruin my life, then I'll attack another student and ruin yours

Just don't get discovered and keep in touch

Bitch Battery: I fucking hate you

Sure. Be careful, I won't ruin your life if you don't ruin mine. Watch it, I don't want to see who can do more damage.

Running a hand through your strangely soft hair, you nodded once to yourself. School would be starting in around an hour. Rummaging through his drawers, you easily found a UA uniform. Tugging off your black tank top without much thought, your cheeks flooded with color when you looked down and saw amazing abs.

"Damn," you whispered, shamelessly running a hand over them, "As if he couldn't get any hotter."

Grabbing Bakugou's phone again, you send out another text to your phone.

My clothes are in the backpack. You can change, but don't take any peeks

Bitch Battery: I'm not a damn pervert

Bakugou may not have been, but you were more than willing to accept the title if it meant you could continue to admire his physique.

Sadly, you remembered that you had to keep up appearances and shrugged on the white shirt. Buttoning it up, you draped the rest tie under the collar and took your time tying it. Kurogiri had once taught you when you were younger and asked. It was a weird lesson to keep with you, but your life was weird in general. Tie secure, you pulled on the jacket as well.

Bakugou slept in boxers, and you didn't take the time to admire much more than his thighs, another "damn" escaping your lips. Fully dressed, you located Bakugou's backpack and slung it over your shoulder. There was no homework or anything on the desk so you assumed everything you would need was already in the bag.

Stepping out, you regarded the hall with amusement. You'd only been outside of Bakugou's room in the dorms once, and you were too distraught at the time to really take note of the building. It was pretty plain, it reminded you of what the bar used to be - but more modern and unkempt.

Taking the elevator to the ground floor, there were only two other people in the kitchen at that time. Tenya Iida and Izuku Midoriya. Both of them were eating breakfast and talking. Whilst Iida was in his school uniform, Midoriya was in workout clothes - probably back from a morning run or something.

"Good morning, Bakugou," Iida greeted first, swiping his hands through the air in a sharp 90 degree motion.

"Morning Kaachan!" Izuku added, a bright smile adorning his face.

What would Bakugou say? Anything? Iida didn't seem like the kind of person Bakugou hung out with, and you knew how complicated Bakugou's relationship with Midoriya was. So, you played it safe and let out a quiet scoff as a greeting and stalked past them to the fridge.

The fridge was a mess. To 1-A it was probably organized, but you had no idea what you were looking at. Sticky notes ran rampant on different foods on different shelves and in different bins. Each note had someone's name on it, claiming the food as their own. Non-specific food items lacked sticky notes, so you assumed those were for everyone.

An apple was fine, right? Bakugou didn't need to eat loads of food for his Quirk to work, and you were itching to get to UA so you could get through Bakugou's classes and meet up after school. You'd probably have to sneak out unless you could get permission.

Something you knew for sure was that he pretended not to care but always did his best when it came to hero work. So you'd just try to emulate that by... being a good hero. You shuddered at the thought.

What did heroes do? They forced people into Quirk marriages for powerful children. They ignored the deeper issues of society in favor of glory. Instead of going for the root of all crime and fixing things at the core, they encouraged wrong ideals. They all had strong Quirks that made anyone without a strong Quirk or a Quirk at all seem worthless.

But then you had seen the other side of it, hadn't you? You'd seen Bakugou fall apart when you simply gave him a nudge. You worked hard to put him back together, you and all the people around him who were learning the truth behind hero society as well. And that one therapist that he said drank on the job.

"Hey, Bakubro!" Eijiro Kirishima skipped into the kitchen, his entire vibe immediately reminding you of a puppy.

"Shitty Hair," your eyes quickly skimmed over Midoriya and Iida, both of whom seemed slightly surprised, "You're up early."

"Only cause you keep bugging me about it!" Kirishima quipped, pulling out a giant bin of protein powder from the cupboard.

God, what a bromance Bakugou was leading. You were almost jealous. Almost. Bakugou could swing Kirishima's way, but the bromance was too strong to become anything else.

Soon, the only sound in the kitchen was Iida drinking his orange juice and Kirishima aggressively shaking his bottle full of his protein shake.

"Excited for hero basics today?" Kirishima questioned after literally chugging his entire protein shake in two gulps.

"What the hell is going on in hero basics?" You easily put a scowl on your face at the thought of having to go through an entire class about heroics.

"We're learning about social justice today!" Midoriya was seemingly bursting at the seams to talk about what was going on, "All Might is going to teach us about different charities and organizations that he's worked with and how to go about social change!"

Huh, interesting...

Bakugou

Waking up in a warehouse immediately sent Bakugou spiraling. He snapped up, his hands in a defensive position as he took in his situation. Right next to him was Toga Himiko. The two of them were sharing a fucking blanket. All around him were the League of Villains, even Dabi was dozing in the corner.

But no you.

Sweat formed on Bakugou's palms, but when he tried to activate his explosions nothing happened. Looking down, his brows furrowed. His hands looked... different. Gaze trailing up, he noticed that his arms looked different too, and he wasn't wearing a pair of clothes he owned. But they looked familiar.

Next to him was a backpack with a phone on top. It lit up with a new message.

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: Bakugou!

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: Answer as soon as you can!

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan:We have a problem!

Bakugou put the pieces together at that. You were talking to him through his phone (the contact name made it obvious). That meant you were in his room at UA while he was at the League of Villains base in a different body.

The fuck?

If you don't epxlain I'm going to kill all these damn villains

Bakugou's instincts were screaming, and he was panicking. The last time he was with the League of Villains he was in chains and thought he would either be brainwashed into joining or die trying to get away. Neither of those happened, but it still instilled a strange sense of fear in him.

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: We switched bodies apparently. I don't know how long it's going to last. Let's hope not long. Let's get through the day and meet up tonight

I'm not spending the day surrounded by villains

Then tell them you're going shopping or something, they trust me.

I'm going to fight the bastards and turn them in

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: And me get arrested along the way?! No! If the police don't arrest me then the league will kill me for betraying them.

THEY FUCKING KIDNAPPED ME

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: I know you're probably panicking rn. Just take deep breaths and get out when you can. If you fight them and ruin my life, then I'll attack another student and ruin yours

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: Just don't get discovered and keep in touch

I fucking hate you

Bakugou didn't. He felt... things toward you. Things that weren't hate most of the time. It was confusing, but the Witch Therapist that liked drinking told him he was in love ("Wow, I didn't know you were capable of love based on your past, but miracles happen. Just like UA getting mental health help for their students").

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: Sure. Be careful, I won't ruin your life if you don't ruin mine. Watch it, I don't want to see who can do more damage.

Sighing, Bakugou tried to calm his nerves and figure out what he would do. Unsurprisingly the league trusted you enough to let you do what you wanted, so Bakugou was planning on getting out of the warehouse as soon as possible and getting to Musutafu to meet up with you in his body as soon as possible and figure things out.

SparkySparkyBoomBoomMan: My clothes are in the backpack. You can change, but don't take any peeks

Cheeks darkening at the thought, Bakugou scoffed.

I'm not a damn pervert

Digging through the backpack, Bakugou realized how little you were running on. A few pairs of clothes, basically no money, and a few other odds and ends. For a split second, Bakugou thought about buying you a few things. But he immediately dismissed the thought and scowled lightly. Damn villain could handle shit yourself.

There was a tiny bathroom attached to the warehouse with water that had to run for a minute before it was clear. The shower didn't even work, Bakugou checked. It made sense. You explained once that vacant apartments and sketchy hotels were your shower locations when you could get to them.

Changing, Bakugou froze when he stepped out. The league was awake. Toga was rubbing her eyes tiredly, Spinner was yawning loudly, Compress was cracking his back, Dabi was simply leaning against the wall, and Twice was doing jumping jacks(?). Shigaraki was absent, and Bakugou nearly jumped out of his skin and decked the creepy fuck when he appeared at Bakugou's side.

"Jumpy," Shigaraki hummed. It took every bit of Bakugou's willpower not to blast the villain. But you were very clear that ruining your life would make you ruin his, and he wasn't keen on that, "What are you doing today?"

Shouldn't the second-in-command be asking the leader that? You weren't kidding when you talked about the league trusting her. More than that, they went to her for answers, and with questions. There were no orders, just curiosity and trust. It made Bakugou feel nauseous.

"I'm uh, going to be out for the day," Bakugou held back a flinch at the sound of your voice coming out of his mouth. Except it wasn't his mouth, it was yours. The entire situation was creepy.

"Aw, but you promised today would be game day!" Toga whined, coming over to cling to Bakugou's arm, "We're supposed to beat Compress and Spinner at Sequence!"

The League of Villains had game days? Class 1-A did the same thing. Both instances were disgustingly domestic, but the league version bugged Bakugou more than being dragged into a Mario Kart tournament. Villains were meant to hide out in evil lairs planning their next evil deed and stroking fluffy cats. There was no game night. There should be no love in villain organizations. There's the leader and the extras, that should be it.

"Stop standing there looking all spacey and come on!" Toga whined, tugging on Bakugou's arm, "Compress and Spinner cheat and I'm out to prove it."

"Well, you did put the guy who's banned from Vegas on that team," Dabi stated, an amused smirk on his lips.

"I won fair and square thank you, and I'll prove it by winning again!" Compress claimed dramatically.

"Not if we can stop it!" Toga threw up her first, then looked over and nudged Bakugou, "Do it."

Sighing and biting down both his pride and common sense, Bakugou raised his hand in a dark mockery of All Might's victory pose.

"That's what I'm talking about, now let's go!"

Bakugou prepared himself to be miserable.

(Y/n)

The two of you met up that evening at a local cafe to seem unsuspicious. You also insisted on the location because the only way you could get out of UA on a Friday night was by saying you were going on a date. Aizawa looked at you - Bakugou - like you were crazy, but he signed the release form anyway, muttering something about blowing off steam.

You had yet to inform Bakugou of that, and you weren't sure if you wanted to.

"How long is this going to last?" Bakugou - you - asked, aggressively sipping a cold brew. It was really weird, seeing your body and your voice not in a mirror.

"Yeah, about that... I sort of hacked into the library system using your phone and tracked down the woman who switched us by looking at check out times and public records-"

"You did that shit from my phone?" Bakugou - you, still weird - burst out.

"I had to do something. It doesn't matter, their system was weak and most of it could be considered a public record anyway. So, I got her name and messaged her on social media - your Tweeter by the way? Crazy. I messaged her on social media and asked her."

"It's just gonna wear off, right? Like she said?"

Leaning across the table, your pressed your lips against Bakugou's, well, yours. It was weird kissing yourself, but you kept in mind that it was Bakugou.

It was also really nice once you got past the body thing. Bakugou knew what he was doing, and you were tempted to ask where he learned how to kiss so well. Instead, you pulled back and took in heavy gulps of air.

"You're still in my body," Bakugou's eyes narrowed.

"Did you feel anything?" You pressed.

"Kind of tingly, I guess. Warm."

Cheeks filling with color, you looked down at your drink and took a long sip of it, "The Quirk required DNA exchange. Kissing seemed easy. We'll be back in our own bodies tomorrow morning."

Grunting in acknowledgement, Bakugou sipped his drink a bit more. Thinking of your next words carefully, you finally just admitted, "The hero course isn't bad."

"The league isn't all that evil."

The two of your made your confessions at the same time, and your eyes narrowed at each other before you spoke in unison again.

"I'm not gonna be a villain."

"I'm not leaving the league.

"Good."

"Good."

That was it. An honest confession and mutual understanding that a glimpse at the truth of the other side didn't shake your core beliefs enough to do anything other than open up your mind a little more. Bakugou would understand how the league felt about each other, and you knew that hero society had hope.

The two of you talked and drank your drinks until they were gone and the sun was setting. With that, you went your separate ways. You on the road to UA and Bakugou back to your decrepit warehouse.

Hand reaching up to gingerly touch your - Bakugou's - lips, you grinned widely. Tomorrow you'd be back in your own body, and you'd received more than enough compensation for your troubles.

Never believe what a villain tells you.
