Chapter Fourteen
there was nothing she could do about it

3rd Person POV

after she and enid stayed there for the rest of the night, they didn't expect to hear anything about what was going on through the walls but when you hear things, it travels and especially when those things have to do with one tortured artist and his arrest.

Serena never expected to hear that one of her best friends was facing jailtime and especially when Xavier thorpe wasn't a person who would do that. he could hurt a person with his words and his drawings but never his hands and never his body. that wasn't who the boy was or at least that's what Serena thought.

enid left the room and went back to mina as Serena was left alone in her room to think. she didn't know what to do, everything was confusing and hurting her brain more then she thought it could. Serena hated having multiple thoughts racing at once but there was nothing she could do about it.

"ser, are you in there? can i come in?" she heard and she got up from the bed as she opened her door and there stood her girlfriend

"bia, hey" she said and she opened the door wider as bianca walked in and looked at the state of her girlfriend. she didn't look like she spent the whole night giggling about her relationship and how happy she was. no, she looked like she was going mentally insane and she hadn't slept in days.

"whats going on ser? you weren't in class today, i was worried about you" she said and Serena looked at her and sighed. she shook her head and grabbed Bianca's hand as she led her over to the bed and they laid down together.

"I'm scared bianca, xavier isn't a bad person and he shouldn't be in a place like that. far less experience the blaming and the threatening of everyone. its stupid to think that he could be blamed for something that he would never do" serena said and bianca stared at the girl who she couldn't tell was angry or sad or hurt. she couldn't tell because it didn't matter.

"you're worried about him" bianca said and serena nodded

"i cant help it bianca but there's nothing i can do is there?" she asked and bianca nodded as she kissed the girls forehead softly and sighed

"sadly there is nothing we can do" she said and she held the girl for a little longer until there was a knock on the door and serena stood up. she opened the door to see enid standing in front of her with a worried look on her face and she was panting

"is mina here?" she asked and serena looked back at bianca

"no e, why whats wrong?" she questioned and enid made eye contact with the girl.

" she ran off after she found out about xavier, I've been looking everywhere for her but i cant find her. i thought she might be here" enid spoke and serena shook her head but biaanca spoke up

"i think i might know where she is, come on" bianca said and she led the girls out of the room ad down to the docks where there they saw mina in the water. they got to the end of the dock and bianca held serenas hand as mina spoke up

"whats up?" she asked and enid scoffed

"whats up? mina seriously, you ran off out of nowhere and ive been looking everywhere for you. a little warning of im going swimming, i need a minute, dont come find me. literally anything wouldve made me feel better. you worried the hell out of me and i am on the verge of a heart attack" enid ranted and mina got out of the water as she held out her hand and serena handed her the towel. bianca looked at the girl and grabbed her hand

"im sorry i shouldve told you where i was going , i just feel so fucking helpless. hes my best friend and i cant do anything to help him. it feels like im useless and anything i could do wouldnt be enough. i dont anything about this could be enough E. im scared and im worried and im angry and i just needed to cool off and think alone for a few minutes" they listened to mina and then serena looked at bianca

"hey guys, i think we're going to head back to my dorm for the rest of the night. we love you guys" Serena said and mina smiled at the girl who smiled back. bianca tugged serenas hand and nodded

"lets go" Bianca exclaimed and serena nodded as they walked back to the room.serena held the door open for the girl who walked in and turned to look at her

"do you think mina will be okay?" she asked and serena sighed and nodded

"her and xavier have always been close, i remember when they dated even after they broke up they stuck together. it was like there was never one without the other and now he's gone. i think shes going to have a hard time without him around to help her and take care of her but shell be okay after a while. she usually is" serena said and bianca nodded

"and will you be okay?" she asked and serena nodded as they laid down together and she put her head on biancas chest.

"yeah i think i will be" she said and bianca kissed the girls as they fell asleep holding each other closely. serena didn't know what to expect anymore.

but as long as she had bianca, she would be okay.

serena does care about other people and i want to make that clear, she cares about so many people and if that wasn't obvious, i don't know what to say. the girl has empathy and passion y'all
