Haruka's POV:

"Hot..." Dazai said. "Don't be a baby." I sighed. We had followed Odasaku to a curry shop, but he was upstairs. "He orders this every time." The kind man who ran the shop said. "It's good!" I said. "It's too spicy..." Dazai said, drinking his glass of water in an instant. "Haru..." He whined. "Fine." I handed him my glass. "Thanks." He said. 'He must really dislike spicy food, huh?' I thought. "Odasaku!" I said, as he walked in. "How were the kids?" The man asked. "The same as usual." He replied, sitting down next to Dazai. "Are those all the kids that lost their parents in the Ryuuzu Dispute two years ago?" Dazai asked. "You're Oda Sakunosuke. A member of the Mafia who never kills, you have no interest in moving up, and you take care of orphans. You sure are strange. You're the strangest person in the Port Mafia." Dazai said. "Not as strange as you." Odasaku replied. "He has a point..." I laughed. "Here are the living expenses for those kids for the time being." Odasaku said, handing the man an envelope. "Are you sure? I don't mind pitching in..." The man said. "I'm already grateful that you're giving them a place to stay." Odasaku said. Dazai took another bite of his curry. "Hot... So hot..." Dazai said. "And as long as I get to eat the curry here whenever I want, I don't need anything else." Odasaku said. "And you two came here today concerning that thing, right?" He asked. "Y-yes..." Dazai said, trying to tough out the spicy curry, but failing. "I've come to the conclusion that they are an organization of gifted members from overseas." Dazai said. "They were being chased by a gifted agency from England called the Order of The Clock Tower, and came scurrying from Europe to Japan." Dazai said. "Which explains why they all have an old European pistol." I said. "And what did those guys come all the way to Japan for?" Odasaku asked. "They escaped to a foreign land... So maybe something was already here..." Dazai said. "That's possible, but there's one thing that bugs me about that." Odasaku said. "You want to say that the soldiers were far too skilled, right?" Dazai replied. "Yeah." Odasaku said. "They're former soldiers... According to my information, the head of their organization uses a powerful gift to command veteran soldiers." Dazai said. "Powerful gift? Does the boss know about this?"  Odasaku asked. "I had Haruka report it to him." Dazai said. "He told me to tell Dazai to come up with an anti-mimic strategy and command the front." I said. "I've already set up various traps." Dazai smirked. "I'm going to ask you something rather rudimentary, but if it's an internal criminal organization with gifted members, wouldn't this be a matter for the government agency?" Odasaku asked. "Are you referring to the Ministry of Home Affairs' Supernatural Special Ops Division?" Dazai replied. "They won't show up unless the situation is rather extreme. Because to the outside world, they technically don't even exist." Dazai said. "And what about Ango?" Odasaku asked. "It's basically been confirmed that Ango was the one who leaked the passcode on the storage unit." Dazai replied. "Did he betray the Port Mafia?" Odasaku asked. "Everything makes perfect sense if we believe that." Dazai said. Just then Dazai's Phone rang. "It's me." He answered. "Understood." Dazai said, hanging up. "A mouse fell into one of my traps." He smiled.

Timeskip!~

Dazai's men had captured some of the Mimic agents, and had removed any form of poison from their teeth. But, when we had arrived at where they were being held captive, they were dead. "I'd like an explanation..." Dazai said. "We captured Mimic's vanguard that attacked the casino with the knockout has as planned. One of them committed suicide, but we brought the other three here. We were planning to have them talk about the others." One of his men answered. "We even removed the poison from their teeth." The man said. "I know that. Because this was all part of my plan. What I want to know is what happened after that..." Dazai said. "O-one of the soldiers woke up earlier than expected. Before we could get handcuffs on him, he stole one of our guns and most likely shot his comrades so they couldn't talk. He also came after us..." The man answered. "So I decided to take care of it." We heard the familiar voice of Akutagawa, as he walked into the room. Dazai's men cleared the way for Akutagawa, while I gagged at his presence. "Is there a problem?" He asked. "I see... No, it's nothing." Dazai said. "You defeated the fearsome, unyielding enemy, and protected our comrades, Akutagawa. That's absolutely splendid." Dazai said. "If it weren't for your powers, they wouldn't have been able to defeat such a powerful enemy on their own in a single blow." Dazai said. "Nothing less from my subordinate." Dazai sighed. "Thanks to you, all of the enemies we captured are dead." I huffed. "The soldiers that I worked so hard to lay a trap for just to keep alive... Now our clues are gone." Dazai said. "If even one of them were alive, we could have found out their headquarters, motive, their commanders lineage, name, and the powers they use to control the organization... We could've gotten all that important information." I said, counting with my fingers. "Information? As if I would--", "Haruka? If you would please." Akutagawa was cut off by me punching him in the face, sending him flying across the room. "To you, it must have seemed like we were waiting to hear some excuse. I'm sorry for giving you the wrong idea." Dazai said, as I wiped my hand on my coat, as Akutagawa coughed up a bit of blood. "Was that a good punch?" I asked. "Yes, it was perfect. Hand me your gun." Dazai said, as one of his men handed him a pistol. "Someone I know happens to be taking care of some orphans... If Odasaku happened to pick you up from the slums, I'm sure that he wouldn't have abandoned you. He would've patiently and firmly guided you. That's what righteousness is... However, I'm a man hated by righteousness." Dazai said. "This is why you should be like Haruka. She never disobeys any orders, she's a quick learner, and she never causes anyone else grief. On top of that, she's also an orphan like you." Dazai said, pointing the gun at Akutagawa. "Men like me do this to their useless subordinates." Dazai said, shooting the gun three times at Akutagawa. "..." A forcefield appeared in front of Akutagawa, the bullets floating in it. "Oh?" Dazai said. "See? You can do it." Dazai said. "How many times have I told you? Cutting open unfortunate hostages isn't the only thing you're good for. You should be able to use your powers for defense too, like Haru does." Dazai said, pointing to me. I was smirking while leaning against a wall. "I've never been able to successfully do that before this." Akutagawa said. "But you just did. Isn't that great?" Dazai said. "The next time you mess up..." Dazai said, glaring a glare that would send even the Port Mafia's boss running. "I'll punch you twice, and shoot you five times. Got it?" He said. "Now, then... Let's check their corpses. Something might turn up." Dazai said. "Um... What should we check on the corpses?" One of his men asked. "Everything. We're going to find any trace of their hideout that we can." Dazai said. "The soles of their shoes, pocket lint, anything sticking to their clothes..." Dazai said. "All of those are clues." He said. "For crying out loud... Apparently all of our subordinates must think that beating our enemy to death is the only thing the Mafia does. At this rate, Odasaku might figure this all out on his own..." Dazai sighed. "Chuuya isn't like that." I said, shrugging. Dazai ignored my comment, causing me to roll my eyes. "I know that man, as well. Though he is part of the Mafia, he lacks the guts to kill a person. I can't see him associating with you at all, Dazai." One of Dazai's men said. "You've made two mistakes." Dazai said. "Guts have nothing to do with being able to associate with someone or not. The other is a warning. You'd be better off not angering Odasaku... Ever. If he were to truly become angry from the bottom of his heart, everyone in this room would be dead before any of us could draw our guns." Dazai warned. "When he isn't holding back, he's more terrifying than any Port Mafia member." Dazai said. "Akutagawa, you could never defeat Odasaku in a hundred years." He said. "No... That's impossible... Dazai, who do you think--", "Alright, back to work." He interrupted. "I know the enemy is trouble, but we need to hurry up and take care of this. Or the Supernatural Special Ops Division will show up and cause even more trouble." Dazai said. "Oh?" I said, finding a clue. "What is it?" Dazai asked. "Their base." I smiled. "Good. Let's tell Odasaku." He said, pulling out his phone and calling Odasaku. "Hey, Odasaku. I found a clue. Would you head over to the place I'm about to tell you? ... Yup. Nope. But we were able to get results from a dried leaf that was stuck to the bottom of one of their shoes... It was indeed a leaf." Dazai said over the phone. "Thanks." He said, hanging up. "We gonna go too?" I asked. "Yeah, we should get ready." He said, standing up.
