I don't know exactly what Charms are used to protect Hogwarts from muggles. I don't think many people do. All I know is what Hermione has told me. If a Muggle gets too close to Hogwarts all they will see is a ruined wreck and marsh and a sign saying extremely dangerous, keep out! As well as this, Hogwarts is unplottable, meaning you can't find it on any map. So to lots of people it simply doesn't exist.

Slytherin has and probably will always have a bad reputation. And I agree, there are some really shit people in Slytherin but there are some decent people in that house too. It's like every house, you get decent people and you get down right horrible people. There are even some people I can't stand in Gryffindor, its just that Slytherin seems to make more horrible people than it does good.

When I heard that voice for the first time, I was more afraid for other people than I was for myself. I was also more confused than scared because at the time I just couldn't understand why no one else could hear this voice.

No the heir of Slytherin wouldn't necessarily have been a Slytherin. I know in this case that the heir was a Slytherin because it was Tom but when you get sorted at Hogwarts by the Sorting Hat, it places you on what traits you have best that match each house. So say if a kid was getting sorted and was Salazar's descendant, the hat would consider that definitely but if the Sorting hat thought that this kid was more intelligent and witty than ambitious and cunning, then the hat would place them in Ravenclaw.

The first time ever I talked to a snake, I was ten. It was Dudley's birthday and Mrs. Figg couldn't look after me so the Dursleys had no choice but to take me to the zoo with them. We were looking around the reptilian exhibit and Dudley was trying to get the attention of this snake. After it didn't move, Dudley got bored and left. I went up to it and after a moment it raised its head and winked at me. Even though it wasn't saying anything, I could tell it was communicating with me. I had commented about how annoying it must be to get gawked at all the time and the snake nodded at me as if to agree.

Honestly El, I'm not making this up. It was a very weird day for me. Anyway, I asked where the snake came from and it pointed it's tail at a sign. It was a boa constrictor from Brazil if you were interested. Anyway, eventually Dudley saw the snake was moving, punched me out of the way and then next thing you know the glass had vanished and the snake slithered away after saying thanks to me.

Until I had found out about Hogwarts I had no idea how the glass disappeared but now I know it was me. Lots of wizards do accidental magic when they are feeling angry or lots of emotions. That's before we learn to control it anyway.

The other time I talked to a snake and found out I was a Parselmouth was in my second year which I stated in my last letter. We were having a dueling club and my opponent was someone called Malfoy. Me and Malfoy don't get along at all. Anyway, so we were only meant to be learning how to block spells to help us defend ourselves but Malfoy had cast a spell and suddenly a snake had erupted from his wand. The snake had turned to attack one of the other students and I don't know what came over me but I felt calm and I approached it and told it to back away. Then eventually one of the Professors present got rid of it.

Everyone was looking at me like I was crazy and had just committed some kind of offense and it was then that I found out I could speak Parseltongue. The thing is though, that I haven't told you yet is that being a Parselmouth is what Salazar Slytherin was famous for. That's why a serpent is the mark of the Slytherin house. And that's why people believed me to be the heir of Slytherin.

I found the diary in the girl's lavatory. To explain myself, so I don't sound like some creep, at Hogwarts there's a ghost who haunts the girls toilets called Moaning Myrtle. I was walking along the corridor where the girls toilets are located and noticed it was all flooded. Myrtle has a tendency to flood the bathroom when she is upset so I went to find out what had happened and there the diary was on the floor.

She was upset because someone had tried to flush the diary and it had gone through her. Myrtle is very sensitive so even though it wasn't a direct attack at Myrtle, Myrtle thought it was someone trying to hit her. Anyway that's how I got the diary. The person who tried to flush it before was Ginny. She had had the diary previously and once she connected all the weird blackouts she kept having and waking up in unknown places and the attacks at Hogwarts to the diary, she attempted to get rid of it. It was Ginny who stole the diary back off me too and then shortly after she was in the Chamber. The diary had posessed too much of her soul because she had wrote all her fears and worries into that diary, thinking Tom was her friend.

The person who had died was when the Chamber was opened the first time. It was in Tom's memory and was 50 years previous to what was happening at Hogwarts when I was in my second year. I believe it was the only death that the Chamber had ever caused. I also found out that the girl that died was in fact Moaning Myrtle.

You are correct on all of those I believe. Yes, Voldemort enchanted his old diary just for the purpose of opening the Chamber. Yes, Voldemort thought very highly of Salazar and his views. It wouldn't surprise me if now Voldemort thought himself better than Salazar. And yes, he's a decendent of Salazar Slytherin.

I would gladly swap your life with mine any day. Not a day goes by that I don't wish I was someone else and not Harry Potter. It would make life so much more easier and all I'd have to worry about is homework and how tired I am after Quidditch practice.

The Basalisk got around using the pipes. It used the plumbing in the walls to get around the castle, again explaining why I only heard the voice in the walls. The Basalisk aside from it's venomous fangs has a murderous stare. Who ever would look into the Basalisk's eyes would die instantly.

But luckily no one died because no one looked directly at the Basalisk, so they just ended up Petrified. One person looked at it through a ghost and Hermione, who had figured out that the Chamber's monster was a Basilisk and was coming back to tell us, had a mirror prepared and was going around the castle looking through the mirror. It was just unfortunate that she did end up meeting the Basilisk on the way back to the dorm.

To destroy the diary I ended up piercing it with a Basilisk fang. I thought it might work because there is no cure for Basalisk venom. Ginny got the diary because one of Voldemort's old followers planted it in her school supplies when we were shopping for them.

Who do you bitch about at school? Is it that Chloe again? You never did like her, did you?

I can't wait till next summer where we can spend it together. Now you know everything, it'll be so much better. No secrets. Too bad we are only a month into the school year.

Vampire diaries? I wonder how inaccurate that show is to actual real vampires?
