Norah shivered, putting her arms around herself as much as she could, they had given her new clothes to change into and stuck her in an interrogation room but not before handcuffing her left hand to the table, Norah didn't know why but she didn't question them because she was scared. She was scared of what would happen if she questioned what the police told her to do. She's already been threatened with deportation once she doesn't want them to follow up on the fact.

She looked up towards the door when someone knocked on it, she opened her mouth to respond but they walked in anyway. "Why did you do it?" The officer who walked in first said pulling out the chair in front of Norah to sit on. "I didn't do it." Norah pleaded with the officer, she looked at the officer who was standing against the wall but he didn't budge. "We know you did, was it because he was the cause of the financial problems? He had a life insurance policy but if you were convicted of his murder you wouldn't get any of it." Norah opened her mouth confused, the officer in front of her flipped open the file that he brought with him.

Norah took in a shuddering breath when she saw the dead body of Hugh on the table before her. "I promise you, I did not do this Officer." The man in front of her scoffed but leaned back and crossed his arms. "Okay, then Miss Bao. Tell me what happened." Norah resisted the urge to correct him, she sighed and rubbed her hands together as good as she can. "Hugh was very manipulative, he told me all these things that through trial and error wasn't true. He isolated me from my family, he did this because he wanted to take me down with him. Please, Officer, you have to believe me."

The officer scoffed and stood up quickly that the chair almost fell over. "I don't and you know what. Maybe Mr. Warner was right about you." Norah's lip wobbled at the officer before she looked down her right hand which was settled in her lap. "Okay, that's enough. I can take it from here." The officer that was standing against the wall with his arms crossed. "If you're sure Mahoney, I'm gonna take a cig break." Norah let out a breath when she was just left alone with the one that the other officer called Mahoney. "I'm sorry about him." The man pulled out the chair that was in front of Norah. Norah didn't respond but she just rubbed her left wrist and sucked in a shuddering breath.

The officer sighed and reached for Norah's left wrist which she jerked back in fear. "Hey, I'm just gonna unlock it alright." He flipped his hand to the side to show a key that was concealed in his palm, Norah nodded slightly before she snatched her hand back quickly when it was free. She rubbed her wrist to rub how the bruise that was surely going to come. "Listen, I shouldn't be doing this but I believe you. I have some lawyer friends that I can call if you would like me to." Norah was going to decline but she slowly shook her head yes. "I can't pay them," Norah whispered looking through her lashes at the officer.

He shook his head before grabbing his phone. "They take pro bono, now I gotta go but we will get to the bottom of this alright." He tapped the table before standing up and he raised his phone to his ear. Norah didn't know if this lawyer would help she would take anything at this point.

Norah scrubbed a hand along her face before hesitantly standing up, she wasn't sure how long she's been in the station but her bones were weak enough from sitting so long so she's figured it's been a while. She takes a shuddering breath before sliding down the wall, she brings her knees up to her chest and puts her head in her knees. She knows that someone is probably watching her from the cameras but she doesn't care. She feels like her world is falling apart all because of Hugh.

She jerked when the door started to open again, she didn't know how long it was but she looked up to see a blind man with a stick along with a blonde-haired woman walking in behind him. "Your bond has been paid, I'm your lawyer Matt Murdock from Nelson & Murdock and this is Karen Page. We're here to help you alright Mrs. Bao." Karen walked towards her and gave her a kind smile before helping her up. "Call me Norah, you're my lawyers after all. I can't thank you both enough for doing this." Matt had a smile on his face as he nodded in the direction of Norah before he swung the cane to exit the room. "Sorry, he's a man of a few words but we're going to get out of this. Do you have any place we can drop you off at?" Norah opened her mouth to say to drop her at the house but she realized that shouldn't be able to stay there anymore.

"I don't, not anymore at least." Norah ran a hand through her hair as she followed Karen and Matt out of the station. "You can crash at my place," Karen suggested after she hailed a cab. "Let me get the door." Karen rushed out walking in front of Matt so he can get into the cab. "I can't ask you of that Karen. You don't even know me, I could've killed Hugh for all you know." Beside her, Matt scoffed but Norah ignored it. "Please Norah, I've been in a similar situation to you. You don't need to be alone right now." Norah opened her mouth to decline what Karen was saying but she nodded quickly knowing that Karen was right, Norah didn't want to be left alone with only her demons to keep her company.
