"Hopefully no one was up when they heard that...."

"Heard what?"

"AHHHH! N-Niles! You scared me!"

It was late at night with the mess hall floor covered in water. You tripped and broke the glass, making glass and water splash everywhere. Luckily it was dark inside so Niles couldn't see that your light, yes light nightgown, was showing and clinging to your naked body under.

"Gezz doll, all I do is come in for a midnight snack and you're dropping things already."

"I-I'm sorry!"

"You do like to say sorry a lot. Here, I'll light a candle for us to clean up this mess."

"NO DON'T DO THAT!"

"Ooo I see. Shy girl likes the darkness don't you?"

Truth to be told you didn't like the darkness and coming into this small space with barley any light was already terrifying enough. But, the biggest reason for him not to see everything... why of all the nights you had to wear a light one? Why did it have to be summer?

"N-No I don't! We don't need the light to clean it up."

"You're right, we'll just do it, the dark way~"

Suddenly your hips were grasped in an unbreakable strength as Niles pinned you up against the wall. Flames were so hot in your cheeks you could roast meat perfectly with them. He rubbed against your hip bone while leaning closer, "You know you like this~"

"I-I don't know! I'm confused! What is going on! I don't do this type of... t-thing!"

Niles sighed and loosened his grip a tad bit. "You don't see what I'm doing? How blind are you?"

"W-Well... considering it's dark and I-I can't see your face."

"Oh really now? Would that make things better?"

"Ummm... maybe...?"

The conversation was confusing you. What was Niles trying to do too you? Hurt you? But he didn't seem to be, more like... holding you protectively for some odd reason. The heat around you two started to make you sweat.

"Hmmm does this maybe mean like a kiss~?"

"W-WHAT?! N-N-N-N-N-Nooooooo!"

"Aww why not? Were here alone, no one can bother us in here, doll~"

"B-but I just d-don't want too!"

"Please? For me?"

His voice sounded serious and full of longing. Longing? For you? Was that possible? Why would he go after a shy girl like you and not anyone else?

"O-Okay..."

Your voice was barely above a whisper, but Niles caught it as he gently tilted your chin and grazed his lips against yours, kissing you. Your first kiss was with a thief who stole for a living, had a bad record in camp with the girls, was the lonely guy hanging around himself most of the time, and he chose you to kiss.

You hummed and melted into the kiss. It was taking all the stress of war away as it felt as if Niles was taking it away from you magically. Niles was started to heat things up and pulled you closer to his chest, only to feel you wet.

He pulled back with a smirk. "Oh I see, I know why you didn't want me to turn on the light."

The flames grew brighter and brighter inside your cheeks. You just wanted to melt into a puddle of your own embarrassment. "I-I it was the water! P-Please don't tell anyone a-about this!"

Niles chuckled, amused by your cute voice from nervousness. "I promise doll, it'll be our own dirty secret~"

"D-Don't call it that! I-It just makes it s-sound worst!"

"Awww... your so cute when your like that~"

"C-Can you put me down now... p-please...?"

"Only if I get another kiss~"

"N-Niles I'm s-starting to get cold!"

He groaned. "Fine."

He put you down as he draped his cloak around yourself. "Let's get you warm already."

After some years later Niles confessed to you and you both had two wonderful kids, but most of all, a loving connection as wife and husband.
