The circumstances that had lead to Jack's death were as followed:

*A jealous asshole decided he would not be second best to anyone anymore.

*Said asshole was possessed by an alien and gathered the original groul together to create a distraction for the MDO.

*and he tried to take over the world with an alien spaceship.

*Jack casted an intricate illusion over her and her friends, which used up so much of her powers she fell unconscious....and from a building.

She did not survive, despite Ivan's heroic leap after her, and the rewind ability of Noah (another mutant who had disappeared mysteriously in the year following). Jack had died.

But now she was standing, looking confused and a little uncomfortable. She wore the same outfit she had been saving the world in: an MDO t-shirt, jeans and her trusted combat boots. Her hazel eyes narrowed at the sight of  the ginger haired scientist.

Oliver for his part, looked like he had seen a ghost. His accusatory words hung in the air, "You should be dead still!"

But if nothing else they could be assured of one thing: Donnie was near, and he had resurrected her from the dead.
