"...Gidget? Gidget? Can you hear me?" a voice spoke, causing it to ring inside of the Pomeranian's ears. Groaning quietly, Gidget blinked her eyes open slowly. Her vision was blurred, she couldn't see clearly. Just a bunch of shapes were standing around her. A high pitched voice asked, "Is she dead?"

"No, she's not dead," Leonard muttered. A chorus of groans broke out. Huffing, the white deer stated firmly, "Give her some space. Come on, back up." The shapes backed up as Gidget slowly tried getting to her feet. "It's okay guys," the fluffy white Pomeranian mumbled, "I'm okay. Just give me a moment."

"Don't move too much, you took a nasty hit to the head," Tiberius murmured, gently placing his taloned forepaw on her shoulder. A moment later, Gidget found herself in an embrace with Norman. Hugging her tightly, the young cub squeaked, "We thought we lost you! I was so worried!"

"Aw, it's gonna be okay Norman, I'm here," Gidget reassured the cub. She gave his head a gentle lick. Her smile slowly disappeared however as the fluffy white dog murmured, "I think I lost something though." Frowning slightly, Tiberius rumbled, "What do you mean? You didn't have anything with you when you fell in."

"Um, it's nothing. Don't worry about it," Gidget mumbled. Pushing herself to her feet, the Pomeranian stumbled slightly before walking out of the clearing. Tiberius and Norman glanced at each other with the same concerned look on their faces. Motioning to his son to follow the small dog, Tiberius turned to Leonard and spoke softly, "Thank you Leonard. Make sure the kids get home safely and then get some rest yourself."

"Of course your majesty, thank you. I will do that. Let me know if Gidget gets any better," Leonard replied before trotting off with the class in tow. Falling into step alongside her father, Princess asked quietly, "Is she going to be okay?" Biting his lip, Leonard admitted, "I don't know sweetheart."

"Gidget! Wait up!" Norman called. He raced through the undergrowth, trying to catch up to his friend. Scrambling over a log, the griffin cub finally found the fluffy white Pomeranian. The small dog was seated in front of a puddle, staring glumly at her reflection. Quietly padding over, Norman sat down beside her and asked, "Gidget?"

"Hi Norman," Gidget mumbled, still staring at her reflection. Frowning slightly, she murmured, "Norman, do you ever get the feeling that you think of something but then you forget about it later?" Thinking for a moment, the griffin cub nodded his head in silence. Finally lifting her gaze from the puddle, Gidget continued, "When I fell into the river, I think I remembered something, something important."

"Something important? Like what?" Tiberius questioned, arriving at last to the small puddle Gidget and Norman were sitting at. Her ears pinned against her head, Gidget hung her head as she mumbled, "I don't know, I can't remember... I can't remember anything..." Sighing softly, Tiberius gently patted her on the back and rasped, "I know, I wish there was some way we could help you remember stuff."

"Just remember that we're always here for you Gidget, okay?" Norman squeaked, hugging the Pomeranian. Smiling quietly, Gidget hugged the cub back as she murmured, "I will, I promise." Giving both of the smaller animals a gentle nuzzle, Tiberius glanced at the sky as he remarked, "Night is falling upon us. We better get back to the den before it gets dark."

"Dad, don't try to trick me with the night crawler story again. I'm too old for that," Norman pointed out as he tried hopping up onto his dad's back. Using his wing to give his son a boost, Tiberius replied, "Norman, those little suckers are real. And they own the night. You should be thankful there hasn't been one in this forest for years." Giggling to herself, Gidget chimed in, "Own is such a funny word. You know, you can add other letters to make it a completely different word."

"Yes Gidget, I'm aware of how words work," Tiberius commented, draping his tail over her shoulders to guide her along. Ignoring what the griffin said, Gidget began listing words, "Down, clown, grown, gown, town, sown, crown. Then if you just add letters to the end, you get other words like owned or owner, owners even-" The small dog was interrupted by a series of images flashing in her mind, images of a man and a woman. Her owners, calling out her name. Gidget gasped loudly. Stopping in his tracks, Tiberius asked urgently, "Gidget, what's wrong?"

"My owners, my family! I remembered my family!" Gidget barked. Without another word, she spun around and sprinted off in the opposite direction howling at the top of her lungs.
