"Just that you were in Japan for a long time." Angela said. "She also told us that you had the worst  luck in love."

"Well, you two do look good together." Bob said,
Lexi and I smiled  at that comment.
" And if I may say so. We would love to have you be a part of our family. And if you do become part of our family. I can guarantee you that you won't regret it." Angela  smiled.
"Well, I'd love that really, and there is someone I'd like Lexi to meet. But she's been so busy that I rarely get to talk to her much, she kind of took over as my mother I guess you could say," I grinned.
"Well, we look forward  to meeting her." Bob smiled.
"I'm sure she'd love to meet you. However, I'm sure she'd like to meet Lexi first." I told them.
"How come?" Lexi asked.
" I'm just sure. Every year on my birthday, Christmas , even Valentine's, she always wonders when I'll find someone."
"Well, I think she'd love me." Lexi grinned.
"I agree." I smiled.
"What's her name?" Angela asked.
"Well, that is a surprise." I smiled.
"No fair." Lexi frowned.
"Now, now, let's be fair. You will meet her. It'll just be when she is free. Which if I'm not mistaken. She'll be in either Chicago or Los Angeles by the end of October. So you'll be able to meet her then." I told her.
" Okay." Lexi smiled. "I think I can wait that long to meet her." She kissed my cheek.
"So how long are you guys going to be in town?" Bob asked. 
"Well, I actually bought a home in town in Victoria Square." I smiled. I looked to Lexi, and she slid into my arms. "And I have this little princess to thank." I hugged Lexi close to me and kissed her forehead.
"Maybe we can come over and see it." Bob said.
"Whenever you want to see it let me know." I smiled.

As the evening went on, Bob cooked some steaks for me and Angela made a large Chef's salad for Lexi and herself. I worried that Lexi wouldn't approve but as we ate she placed.her right hand on my left and gave me a reassuring smile, that calmed my nerves quick.

After we ate, I knew that it was time to tell them what Lexi didn't. So I took a few deep breaths and told them everything. Needless to say they were a little surprised to say the least.
Before we left. Lexi and I were asked the one question I was hoping to avoid this trip. And it was asked by Bob.
" So are you two getting serious about each other, maybe serious enough to get married soon?"
"Well I we agreed to take it slow. But if everything keeps going like it is now. The next time you see us she'll have an engagement ring on her finger." I smiled. "And speaking of taking big steps." I looked at Lexi and smiled. "Lex, would you like to move in together with me?"
She smiled and said, "I'd love nothing more." She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me in for a nice long kiss. "You had this planned didn't you?"
"And what if I did?" I asked with a cheshire cat grin on my face.

"Well when I get home after my storyline is finished. We'll start moving my stuff into your place." She kissed my cheek. "Let me replenish their water and food and I'll pack some things and we'll head to your home."
"Sounds fair to me." I smiled. It was close to seven in the evening when Lexi was ready to go.
As we headed to my home, my phone went off. I stopped at a stop light and looked at the caller ID. It was my adoptive mother. "Who is it baby?" She asked.
"Do you remember the lady that you want to meet?" I asked Lexi. She smiled and nodded. "That's who this is." I answered the phone. "Hello, oh hey. Your in town. Okay.  Do you need a place to stay or...aha okay. Where are you? Alright then. Be there in a few." I hung up and turned a corner heading to the airport. "Sorry for this Lexi darling.  But apparently a stuntman died on set of the movie she was making so they decided to give everyone a few days off so she's coming here to see my new home.  Well our home." I slid my right hand into Lexi's left and gently held it. Once at the airport I parked the car at the arrivals gate and said, "Will you be okay here for a bit?" She nodded. "Okay. Be back in a flash." I got out of the car and headed inside and about five minutes later. I walked out of the airport arrivals gate with my adoptive mother.  I opened Lexi's door and she stepped out and was face to face with my 'mother'.
"Wait. Your adoptive mother is..." Lexi could barely contain her excitement.
"Alexis Kaufman. Meet my adoptive mother, Michelle Yeoh." I introduced. "Mom. This is my girlfriend Lexi." Lexi was so close to geeking out that Michelle smiled wider.
"Nice to meet you Alexis." Michelle greeted. It was hysterical to see Lexi hyperventilating in Michelle's presence.
"Uhh. Lex, darling." I said.
"Nice to meet you too." She finally said. Once I was able to fit Michelle's last bit of luggage in. We got in and headed to my home, soon to be Lexi and I's home.

"Here we are." I smiled as I got out and opened Michelle's door first and then ran to the passenger side door and opened it for Lexi.
"Oh, Daniel this is a spectacular place."
"Lex deserves all the credit in finding it." I smiled.
"Lexi. You have a good eye and the mere fact that it has a roaring twenties vibe says that Daniel made the decision to get it." Lexi nodded. "Well, you always did love history."
"Why don't you ladies go inside and get comfortable and I'll bring in your stuff." I said and Lexi grinned.
"Okay." Michelle smiled as she and Lexi headed inside the house.
Once I had brought in the last of Michelle's bags, I could smell the unmistakable aroma of stirfry chicken and vegetables. I walked to the kitchen and found Michelle and Lexi cooking. I just stood in the shadows and observed them.

"So, Miss Yeoh."
"Oh please call me Michelle."
"Okay. Michelle. How did you and Daniel meet?" Lexi asked.
"Well, Daniel was a few months into his NJPW contract and I was filming Crazy Rich Asians at the time in Singapore. But on my days off, I spent them in Japan. I ran into him as he was trying to get some inspiration for his what has now come to be affectionately known as his 'Freddy' look. He wanted it to be different. So since I've been in theater for a long time I made a few suggestions. And the next thing I know he's wearing the face paint design I gave him and being an instant smash with the fans there. I'm so proud of him."
"How did you becoming his adoptive mother come about?" Lexi asked.
"Ohh, let's see." Michelle started chopping some carrots and celery as Lex took care of slicing the raw chicken very finely. "I think that came about one day when I was off from the set of CRA and he was sick. A very bad cold if I remember correctly. Anyway, I was visiting him and seeing how he was doing with the new look. And in a day or two he was on his feet and walking around. He's been calling me his adoptive mother ever since. And I don't mind it. He's a very sweet boy. And when I heard that you were dating him. "Your prodding." I said nearly scaring them. "And here I thought it was my dimeanor and good looks." I joked making her and Lex smile.
"How long were you standing there?" Michelle asked.
"Long enough to hear you get along with my girl." I smiled as I walked up behind them. I leaned over and kissed Michelle on the cheek as I always did like a son would or should. Then wrapped my arms around Lexi and kissed the top of her head. After the stirfry was finished. We all sat down after filling our plates and glasses of water and soda's. "Now that you've beaten around the bush long enough mom. What's really going on?"
"Could never get anything past you." She smiled. "Well, I just wanted to know how you were doing and if you met anyone. And since I now know you do have someone special. And I can definitely see your doing well. I also heard that you hurt your knee and have been given a few weeks off or is it a month."
"Closer to the second mom." I said.
"Hmm, well if you would like, I can stay here with you and take care of you while Lexi's on the road. And until I have to go back and finish filming." Michelle said and even though I knew she was being honest. I looked at Lexi.
"What do you think darling?" I asked her. "I mean when you get time off we are going to be moving you in here with me." I smiled. "Which makes this your home as it is mine."
"I'd like that. At least someone to keep him company while I was on the road. And since you have to go back sometime in the next few days to finish filming eventually. I can call him and make sure my King of Nightmares is doing okay." Lexi smiled.
"Okay. I'll stay here until I have to return to Chicago to finish filming and I'm certain by the time I finish, you will be home with him or he will be good enough to at least travel with you." Michelle smiled.

We finished eating and Michelle picked a room and took her things into it and got settled in for the night as did Lexi and I. While we were sittingup in bed, Michelle knocked and came into me and Lexi's room. "Well, goodnight you two. Lexi you and I should talk in the morning so that way I know what the doctors said or gave as treatment."
"Sounds good." Lexi smiled.
"Okay." Michelle bowed and closed the door behind her as she left the room.
"I swear she's like an Italian mama in an asian body." I smiled. "Very protective and very nurturing. But sometimes goes overboard." I grinned.
"I think she's cool. Besides. At least I now know why you call her mom or your adoptive mother." Lexi smiled. "And now that she's gone to bed." Lexi slid on top of me.
"Oh, right." I smiled evilly along with Lexi and she leaned down and kissed me. We barely pulled away from each other for a second and just smashed our lips together and started making out. Which devolved into an absolute frenzied four hour round.
Once the frenzied round was over, Lexi and I were caked in sweat and had mile wide grins on our faces. "That was amazing baby." Lexi smiled.

"Well, let's recap what's happened today. You met my parents, my pets and I met your adoptive mother who I'm so going to rag on you for not telling me sooner." She smiled.
"But all that aside. Doesn't change the fact that I love you and I'll miss you while you're on the road." I said.
"Well, I'm going to miss you just as much." She looked up into my eyes and smiled. "I'm going to call you while I'm on the road. And I'll check in on you and see how your doing." Lexi smiled wider.
"What are yout thinking?" I asked.
"Nothing you need to worry about."
"Alright, if you say so. Goodnight Lexi my love."
"Goodnight Daniel my darling." We soon fell fast asleep.
