I could feel it. All of the sadness and guilt thrust into me as I looked down at Link. His blue eyes, red to the rim from crying as his sobbed while holding my body. Moving was out of the question as I could only feel my soul trapped inside my dead body.

He shook with pure agony as he gripped where his heart was. "I-I didn't think I would f-feel it... y-you lied to me..."

Inside my head I could only feel happiness and knew he made the right choice killing me. But, I didn't see how as I stared to panic, but on one would be able to see it. Link pulled the Master Sword out from my body as it limped lifelessly on his lap.

He gently put me down as I watched wordless and in shock as he thrusted the Master Sword into him. A small smile was on his dying face he was dropped to his knees, blood polling around him as he held my pale hand into his, soon to be pale like mine...

I screamed at the top of my lungs and flung upright, making myself lightheaded. Link was making breakfast as he jumped and quickly grabbed me, hugging me close to his chest. I broke down as he didn't say anything and let me cry out everything.

After I was done he pulled me back as I could see the worry in his eyes. "(y/n) what happened? Did you have a bad dream?"

"Y-Yes..."

"What was it about?"

"I-I... I don't want t-to talk about it..."

He sighed deeply, but didn't press me on for not telling him. Breakfast as eggs and stale rolled bread. I greedily ate it down, but paused when I looked up to see him staring at me. "Why are you staring?"

"I was just wondering when it was the last time you ate."

As if on cue he poked at my belly as I squeaked, embarrassed to know he did that and to feel the bones of my rib cage. Sadness were edged in his eyes as I looked down. "You're skinny, way skinner than the last time we ate. Why are you not eating?"

"I just don't feel like eating."

"If you're not going to eat I'm going to make you eat."

"H-Huh?" A blush lighted up my cheeks. "You can't make me."

"Watch the next time we eat." He continued eating his breakfast as if he didn't give me a threat.

I would have been mad at him, but the dream where he was in so much pain from me dying... but why? Why would he end his life over me? That hurt me so much I screamed in pain when I woke up. Link was the chosen hero and he had a destiny to save Hyrule, not to kill himself over me.

We both finished eating as Link packed up while I helped. Minda teleported us near the gates of Hyrule as I looked at them confused. "Why are we back here?"

"I need some answer, and I think Telma has them." Link answer while walking away.

I caught up to him as a smile spread across my face when I stepped into Hyrule square. Child ran around as people chattered among there selves. The huge fountain had rupees, green ones, inside as for fun and through ten of them in there.

Link opened up the door for me as I walked in and was greeted by the smell of food. The bar was empty, but in the backroom looked to be weird dressed people.

"Oh my... if it isn't Link!" Telma called out as Link walked up to her.

I smiled and walked up with him. "Hey Telma."

"You two made it! How have you been, honey?"

"Pretty good." Link replied with a small smile. "Can you restock us up on food?"

I gave him a sour look which he ignored but Telma was already doing her work. "Sure. Oh hey! You have some timing! Hey, Everyone!" She called to the people in the back, "Introduce yourselves! This handsome young man is Link!"

A tint of pink came into Links cheeks as he rubbed the back of his neck shyly. I giggled, forgetting how cute Link could be when he forgot about his own self worries. Telma told him some information about another group member in the dessert and I made a note of that.

Walking to the back my eyes set them on the first man in the group who was quiet. He didn't speak when I tried talking to him, reminds me of someone else I know. He wore an armor hat with blinds over his eyes, but he wore some comfy clothing for the winter.

"He doesn't talk much." A girl from the table spoke up. She had twin pigtails that were black and had silver armor around her chest and down to her legs. A kind but small smile she gave me while we shook hands. "It's Ashei. I grew up in the mountains with my father, who was a knight of his own right. It was in Snowpeak, the mountain to the north of Hyrule. It's unlike any other mountain I've ever known. But... evil controls it... until more I'll tell you all I know."

I nodded to her. "Thanks for the information. And, you are...?" I questioned the red head.

"I'm Shad." His eyes held a kind nature as he shook hands. "Nice to meet you, (y/n) and Link. Telma has told me what you've been up to. It's rather wonderful! I read books and lack the physical strength, but you two, even yourself miss (y/n), have triple the amount of strength a Hylian soldier has!"

"Aww thank you!"

Shad nodded his head. "If you need to know the history of Hyrule I'm your cup of tea. Ask me anything and I'll try to answer if for you."

"Thanks. Can you tell us where we can get into the dessert?"

"Oh! The old coot, Auru, is at Lake Hyila. If the dessert you need then he's your man."

I studied the location and nodded quickly. "I got it. Come on, Link."

"Wait." He grabbed my arm, making me almost fall to the ground as I was ready to go. "You're eating some meat."

Anger rose inside me. "I just ate breakfast not that long ago."

"I know, but I'm worried for your health."

"He's right, honey. I can see your arms are getting thinner and not bigger with the training you two do."

I sighed, Telma was right as I sat down. "Fine. I'll eat some damn meat."

Link smiled and sat across from me at the table. "Thank you."

Rolling my eyes, I still knew I liked the face Link was giving me. "You're welcome."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The jog to Lake Hylia wasn't bad as Link was in a great mood because I ate everything on my plate. I didn't complain as my tummy was full from all the meat, bread, and wine Telma gave me. Truth to be told I think she gave me a bit too much because I was seeing double Links at times.
Link climbed up the long ladder to the only tall tower in the lake. He helped me us as a man back was turned to us.
"I thought it was about time for you two to show up. Master Link and Master (y/n), is it?" The figure removed their hood as it was an old man with his grays already showing. He had a baby like face as he put one hand on his hip. "You know Telma, don't you? I am Auru. I've heard all about your deeds from her."
"We do are best, sir." My voice spoke out of nowhere as I quickly closed it.
"I bet you two do, with all that courageous youth and spirit inside. Now, have you two heard about the strange investigations in the dessert?"
"No." Link replied. "All we know is that were too get there."
"Well the Gerudo Desert once held a prison inside to hold the nastiest criminals Hyrule has ever known. Criminals who were sentenced to death were sent to the underworld by a cursed mirror the prison held. Now the prison is condemned, even the road leading there is gone."
"Don't worry, I think Link and I can find it."
Auru gave me a smile. "I bet you can after all the information I've heard. To help out go down to the amusement ride down in the lake and give the man named Fyer this." He handed Link a memo. "You two should go now before the sun sets."
"We will. Thank you Auru!"
He waved us goodbye as Link and I headed down to the lake. The place wasn't too hard to miss as we walked up to him. He had a clown face with a bullet on the side of his shirt. It looked like he didn't want to be there at all.
"Hello! Can you give us a ride to the desert?" I gave him the memo.
"Hmmm... from old Auru huh? Well I guess I better give ya a lift."
"Thank you very much." Link pushed me gently into the cannon.
All of a sudden weird music started to play as the ride was moving. I yelped and bumped into Link, but he didn't mind it as he held me closer to him. "Link, I'm scared!"
"Trust me! You're not alone!"
Before the cannon shot us into the air he covered me with his body as he were thrown in the air at high speed. Sand soon came into view as Link covered all of the impact while my face was rested at the crook of his neck.
He groaned in pain but could stand up just fine. "Are you alright...?"
"I'm alright, but you're not!" I looked him over as he laughed. "Stop moving!"
"S-Sorry! It tickles!"
I helped heal the spot where it was bruised with my new healing powers. It seemed to speed up the process, but it didn't affect Link which was the only thing I was afraid of if it ever did. Midna came out from Link's shadow and looked over the desert.
"Stop you two. Before you go on, there's something you need to hear. Do you remember what the spirits told you about the Fused Shadows?"
"Well somewhat, not all of it." Midna looked at me with tiredness in her eyes, as if telling us this was hurting her very soul.
"What do you think happens to the magic wielders who tried to rule the Scared Realm? They were banished, taken away from the sacred land of Hyrule and put into another realm by the goddess...."
The sun was starting to set as half of her face formed an eerily shadow, making her red eye glowing brightly. "It was another world entirely... the antithesis of Hyrule, where the sun shines bright. The denizens became shadows that could not mingle with the light. It came to be called the Twilight Realm, and from it, none could return to the world of light. They are forever doomed to live and breathe in the twilight, the mere shadows of Hyrule. This is the history of the Twli as it has been passed down from our ancestors..."
"So... you're not an Imp?" I ask, a feeling burning inside me as deep down I always knew she wasn't one.
"No." She growled and bared her single fang, "I'm a descendant of the tribe that was banished to the Twilight Realm!"
I wince slightly as Link rubbed the small of my back. Midna relaxed as her face softened again. "It was a peaceful place... until Zant took control of the Twilight Realm and transformed all of the Twli into shadow beasts. It's clear to me now he somehow gained a great evil power previously unknown to our tribe. In any case, I was sent from there, and could no longer get into the twilight realm without his power. But... there's another tale told down from my people. Though the goddesses forbade us to return to the world of light, they left one link between the light and darkness. Something called the Mirror of Twilight was passed down to the protectors of Hyrule. It's the only path to the Twilight Realm... we must get there!"
Everything she told in her story, all the emotion, was in her eyes as she touched Link's face. "You'll come with me... won't you?"
The Link I knew and loved only smile, it was enough for Midna to know he was coming along without saying any words. Shock was registered onto her face before she turned into Links shadow again.
Deep inside, I knew she was grateful for everything we've done so far. Looking up just into the evening sun was the prison. I looked at Link as he nodded his head. At the same time we took off together.
