Chapter 21 (savage)

"Alright, what did you do now?" Mom asked as she entered the kitchen.

"What do you mean?"

"You've prepared breakfast, and have even woken up before the afternoon!" She exclaimed. "You only ever act this useful when you've gotten yourself into trouble."

"Something phenomenal happened is all," I grinned at her.

"And that is...?

"Mia and I got back together."

The moment she said those words, mom's face instantly lit up. She looked even happier than me. "Finally! You better not lose her again. Oh! Why don't we invite her over! I haven't seen her since the two of you split."

"Don't forget to eat," I said, pointing at the pasta I made her.

Ignoring me, she went back upstairs to what I assume, grab her phone and call Mia. Since the table was all set up, I sat down and took out my new phone that I had bought this morning. When setting everything up, I let everyone in my contacts know I had a new number.

All but Zoey.

I didn't have the chance to delete her contact since my first priority was to get Mia back. Now that we're together, I made sure to delete her from my contacts and buy a new phone. Fortunately, she never once called or texted me. I wanted nothing to do with her, but I knew at one point I'd have to see her again.

There was still the case with Louis and his father. After finding out that Zoey and Natasha were staying here, I was more determined to find out what Louis was up to and get rid of the rat. Since Ben was keeping tabs on Zoey, we knew what she was up to on a daily. Ben has told me that nothing seemed out of the picture too far.

What was interesting was that Louis visited my father in prison. I'll have to arrange another meeting with my father soon. Mia suggested that she could visit to see if maybe she'd get him to confess a little more like she did last time. I had no doubt that Mia would be able to do that, but I didn't want my father to see her.

"It's not like he'll hurt me," I remember her saying. "He knows he's caused enough pain, and besides, there will be a guard watching."

Just as I finished texting Mia, my mom appeared and sat done at the table across from me. She said that Mia will be over in a few minutes and began to eat the food I had made her. She kept commenting on my cooking like she always does before we heard the bell ring.

I got up from my chair and headed towards the living room. Opening the front door. I smiled when seeing Mia.

"H—"

"Mia!" My mom exclaimed, pushing me out of the way. "It's so wonderful to see you again."

"You too, Mrs King." Mia smiled.

"Have you eaten breakfast?" Mom asked as she dragged Mia inside.

"Just before leaving the house."

"Good! I have so much to tell you! I—"

"Mom," I interrupted, making her stop. She looked at me, a confused look on her face before realization washed over.

"You know what Mia? Maybe another time. I actually want to go over to your mother and see if she would like to join me for a little shopping spree."

"Didn't you just go shopping yesterday?"

Mom rolled her eyes. "I just bought another company, Ace. That's a different kind of shopping," she said before heading upstairs.

"She bought another one?" Mia chuckled. "That's like, the third time this week."

I shrugged. "You know my mom."

Grabbing her hand, she let out a small yelp as I pulled her upstairs and to my room.

"Ace! Slow down! I'm going to trip," she laughed.

When we reached the top of the stairs, I stopped and turned around to face her.

"What are you—" She started before I lifted her up, carrying her over my shoulder. "Put me down!"

"I don't think I want to." I grinned.

Opening the door to my room, I made sure Mia didn't hit her head as I walked in, before closing the door. I placed her down onto the floor and watched as she fixed her hair.

"Your room looks decent for once," she commented, looking around. "So, what do you want to do?"

I smirked, wrapping an arm around her waist before pulling her closer. Her hands immediately gripped my shoulders as she looked into my eyes. I traced her jaw with a finger and gently tilted her chin up.

"I might have an idea," I whispered huskily

Mia rolled her eyes knowing exactly what I was up to. Nevertheless, she wrapped her arms around my neck before giving me a quick kiss.

"That's all you're getting today," she grinned.

She chuckled as I let out a defeated sigh before she placed her hand on my cheek. I leaned into her touch and instantly felt my muscles relax. Mia knew the effect she had on me, and if she wanted, she could pull the right strings to bring me to my knees.

Not only was she my strength, but she was my weakness. Which was why I didn't want her to be involved with all the shit that's been happening in my life. There would be people out there who could take her and hurt her. I didn't want that to happen. I thought it would be better to have her oblivious about this, but obviously, I thought wrong.

Leaving her in the dark only made it more dangerous for her if she didn't know what was going on. I didn't realize this until it came to the point where I had lost her.

I smiled at Mia as I grabbed onto her thighs and lifted her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist and glared at me.

"At least give me a warning," she grumbled.

I laughed and kissed her forehead before laying her down in the bed. I hovered over her, and before she had a chance to protest, I pressed my lips against her own. She didn't put up a fight to stop me and kissed me back.

Fuck, I missed this.

She let out a soft and quiet moan before slightly pulling at the ends of my hair. Her actions only making me kiss her harder. I felt one of her hands run up and down my biceps before she leaned back.

Her cheeks were stained with a perfect shade of red as she looked up at me breathlessly. I leaned down and placed light kisses on her neck, smirking as I heard her quietly say my name. She let out a breathless sigh as I sucked on her delicate skin, making sure to leave a mark that would last more than a few days.

Pulling away, I stared down at Mia to see her biting her lower lip. She was thinking whether or not we should continue, but I knew she was still shy about it. Even if we've already done it.

Instead, to make things less awkward, I gave her a playful smirk and moved my hands near her sides before tickling her. She laughed, trying too much me off her but to no avail.

"Ace! S-Stop it!" She giggled.

"Why should I?"

"B-Because."

"That's not an answer."

"Ace!"

I stopped and let Mia catch her breath as I laid down beside her. I wrapped my arms around her wake and pulled her close. I moved her hair out of the way as she started to calm down.

"Let's watch a movie." Was the first thing she said. "Get the remote."

Following her demand, I unwrapped my arms from her to grab the remote. She cuddled closer to me as I turned on the TV and went to Netflix. We were deciding on what to watch when my phone rang from the nightstand. Mia grabbed it and gave it to me as she continued to search for a movie.

"Hey, mom what's up?" I asked after I answered the call.

"It's your father. He escaped."
