'Don't make promise you can't keep'

A sleepy Seenu nearly fell off his seat as the train came to a stop, he wiped the sleep from his eyes and looked out the window and realised the train had stopped at Chandigarh. Seenu then looked towards Naina, who was still sleeping. Seenu didn't even realise when he fell asleep, the last thing he remembered was watching Naina as she slowly fell asleep, making sure no one disturbed her, while making sure Naina was safe, Seenu had somehow managed to fall asleep as well.

Seenu looked down at his watch and realised it has been hours since they've been on this train and hours since both he and Naina have eaten anything, Seenu looked at Naina and realised she was in a deep sleep and wasn't going to wake up anytime soon, so Seenu decided to go and quickly grab some food for both of them.

"Be right back, sweetheart" Seenu whispered to a sleeping Naina.

After a few minutes, Naina also woke up, she sat up in her seat and after stretching her stiff limbs, she looked at the seat infront of her, fully expecting to see Seenu there, but to her confusion he wasn't there.

"Where did he go?" Naina wondered out loud.

Naina looked out the window, hoping to spot Seenu but he wasn't anywhere, a confused Naina stood up and decided to go search for him.

"Where the hell have you disappeared to Seenu?" Naina whispered, standing at the train's door and looking around for Seenu, suddenly at the food stall at a fair distance, Naina's eyes finally landed on Seenu, "Here I'm looking for him everywhere and he's busy stuffing his mouth, just you wait Seenu".

An annoyed Naina stepped off of the train and proceeded to walk over to Seenu, but before she could, Naina was suddenly surrounded by four boys.

"Hello, baby".

Naina looked at the boys and their facial expressions were enough to tell her that they didn't mean well, so Naina quickly tried to step out of their way, "Excuse me" she said, trying to step to the side of the boys, but before she could one of the boys grabbed her wrist.

"Wait, baby".

"What kind of behavior is this?" an angry Naina snapped, trying to take remove her wrist from the guy's hold but failing miserably.

"Relax baby, we saw you get off the train and we just thought to come and introduce ourselves to you".

"I don't want to know you" Naina snapped, finally managing to free her wrist, she turned to leave but another boy blocked her way.

"But we want to know you".

The boy infront of her tried to touch her shoulder, but Naina quickly slapped his hand away.

"Don't touch me!" Naina warned.

"Come on, we just want to spend some quality time with you".

The boy once again lifted his hand up, this time to touch Naina's cheek, but before he could, Naina slapped him across his face.

"No means no" Naina stated, glaring at the boys infront of her.

The boy who Naina slapped, glared at Naina with immense hatred, "How dare you?!" he yelled, lifting his hand up to slap Naina, causing Naina to close her eyes and brace herself, but when she felt nothing, she opened her eyes to see Seenu standing infront of her, he had grabbed the boy's hand and stopped him from hitting Naina.

"How dare you?!" a furious Seenu asked, "How dare you try to touch her?!".

Before anyone could say or do anything, Seenu had started beating the boys who dared teased Naina, his eyes were red, clear indication of the rage he felt, all he could think about was that if he was even a second late, then Naina could have gotten hurt, and that was something Seenu couldn't tolerate.

Naina stood to the side, looking at Seenu in both shock and gratefulness, she was grateful that he came to her save, if he didn't come then Naina doesn't even want to imagine what the four boys were going to do to her, there was only so much she could do, but at the same time, Naina was shocked seeing the rage in Seenu's eyes, the type of rage that scared Naina more then the boys he was beating up.

"Someone stop him, he's going to kill those boys!" someone shouted, breaking Naina's chain of thoughts.

Naina looked towards Seenu and realised the stranger was right, if someone didn't stop Seenu then he was going to end up in jail for murder, so Naina quickly ran over to him.

Just as Seenu lifted his bloody knuckle to land another punch, Naina grabbed the back of his jacket, stopping his fist mid air.

"Please stop" Naina whispered.

Seenu turned his head to look towards Naina, as soon as their eyes connected, Seenu could feel his rage leave his body, without sparing the beaten boys another look, Seenu grabbed Naina's hand and both of them walked back into the train and into the seats.

"Are you okay?" Seenu asked, as he sat Naina down on to her seat.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Naina asked, pointing to Seenu's injured knuckles.

Seenu looked down at his hand, he then looked at Naina and shrugged, "I'll be fine" he assured.

Naina sighed, she took the scarf she was wearing off, she then went and sat next to Seenu and taking his hand in hers, she carefully wrapped the scarf around his hand.

"So much rage isn't good for a person" Naina said, after a moment of silence.

"They teased you" Seenu said, admiring Naina.

Naina looked into Seenu's eyes, "I'm a stranger Seenu, you shouldn't let a stranger effect your emotions so much".

"You don't seem like a stranger to me" Seenu admitted.

"But I am a stranger" Naina retorted, "You don't know me Seenu, don't do this madness for me, I won't be able to give you what you want".

"What exactly do you think I want from you?" Seenu asked curiously.

Naina shrugged, "I don't know" she replied honestly, "But whatever it is, I don't think I can afford it".

"Take a risk Naina, who knows maybe you can afford it" Seenu said.

Naina shook her head, "I'm not like you Seenu, I only have one dream, and that's to make my dad proud of me, I can't be distracted by you or anyone else".

Seenu gave Naina a small smile, "I'm a very stubborn person Naina, the moment I saw you dance on that stage, my stubborn heart wanted you".

"Well I'm equally, if not even more stubborn" Naina said, "I can never give you my heart".

"Don't make promise you can't keep" Seenu said.

Naina shook her head, "I promise you, this is a promise I will keep".

Naina stood up, but before she could walk over to her seat, Seenu grabbed her wrist, he then stood up and looked at Naina, leaving almost no space between them.

"And I promise you, that there will be a day, that you will come to me and admit that you've lost your heart to me" Seenu said.

"That day will never come" Naina promised.

"That day will come sooner then you think" Seenu retorted.

As the train finally started moving again, Naina and Seenu stood between their seats, staring at each other, none of them knew what Bangalore will bring to their story, but one of them was ready to have the affections of the girl he loved since the moment he saw her, while the other was ready to avoid the man infront of her at all costs, only time will tell whose stubbornness will win, Seenu's to have Naina's heart, or Naina's to keep her heart guarded at all times.
