Tapping my foot on the carpet, I stared intently at the doorway, waiting for Adam and my mom to suddenly pop out from there. I sent Adam a text earlier that it was safe to bring her back and now, Axel and I are patiently waiting for them to arrive.

I calmed myself, made sure my eyes weren't swollen from crying and with deep breathing exercises, I looked like nothing ever happened.

"What was that episode with my dad, by the way?" I grumbled, pinching the bridge of my nose in an attempt to get rid of this headache that was shortcoming.

With a shrug, he replied, "I need to make sure he approves me of dating you."

"Well, I have to thank you," I smiled at him, "And you were also very sweet."

"Does this guarantee me that we will make out later?" he questioned with a very hopeful look.

Reaching out, I slapped him upside the head, "Not the time for that!"

"That why I said 'later'," he groaned, rubbing the spot where I hit him, "Geeze, you're so violent."

"Don't say thing like that then," I retorted, crossing my charms in front of my chest, "It makes me want to do nothing but hit you."

With that mischievous smirk, he lifted his hands in surrender, "If you're up for that kinky stuff then..."

Lord, help me with this boy.

"We're back," Adam cleared his throat, causing us to snap our attention to their direction. How long were they standing there and how much of this conversation did they hear?

Maybe Adam knew from the horror that I was showing with my face that I was silently asking those questions as he spoke, "Never knew you were into that stuff, Soph."

Some supernatural being, please make a hole in the earth and let me fall into it. The embarrassment is real in this one.

"I'm not!" I yelled, before pointing a finger towards my stupid boyfriend's direction, "It's his fault."

"I'm sorry," he apologized and I was about to smile in victory when he added, "For being so devilishly good looking that you want to do it with me."

I give up.

We heard laughter and we all went to look at my mom who was now covering her mouth as she shook, trying to keep her amusement at bay.

Just the look of her being happy was enough for me to relax.

Making my way towards her, I gave her a tight hug, "I love you, mom."

"I know," she soothed, "Did I make you worry?"

Nodding, I pulled back from her and forced myself to smile, "Are you happy, mom?"

She clicked her tongue and instead of giving me a straight answer, she my words to me, "Are you happy?"

Glancing behind me, I saw Adam and Axel also patiently waiting for my answer. Smiling at them, I turned back to my mother and answered, "Yeah, I'm happy."

She gave my cheek a light pinch, giving me a proud grin, "Good, because I'm done with making myself happy, it's your turn."

"What?"

"Boys, would you please leave us alone?" she requested from them. After sharing a look, they nodded and quietly exited the room.

Staring at her, she used her fingers to turn my incoming frown into a smile, "I have always blamed myself as the reason why my little girl refuses to fall in love."

"But mom, you saw me with Adam back then," I told her in order to shoot down her theory.

"I know what love is," she said, "The love you have with that boy was different."

She reached out and took my hands in hers, "I did not give you that middle name for you to lock yourself in."

"When love comes into the picture, people will get hurt," I stated.

Now it was her turn to frown. She sighed and shook her head, "People will get hurt, whether you like it or not, you have to accept it."

"You've cried day and night because you loved dad," I spoke, "And yet, you are still so stubborn because you can't let yourself move on."

"I have allowed myself to move on, but deep inside, I don't want to," she countered, patting my head like I was a small child, "Robert Valentine gave me you, and that, perhaps is something I would be forever grateful."

"Mom..." I trailed off as she released my hands.

"It's alright to fall in love, get hurt, and still be stubbornly in love," she assured, "And if you have to cry day and night, I'll be here to comfort you."

Scrunching my eyebrows together, I gave her a worrisome look, "Are you telling me to get my heart shattered into a million pieces?"

"I'm telling to never be afraid of falling in love," she said, "It's the best thing in the world."

Isn't it so ironic that we're having this conversation while I still have my middle and last name to back her up?

She lifted my chin up, "It's a joy for a mother to see her daughter being so lovesick."

Cracking up a smile and I finally gave in and nodded. Besides, if I didn't, I would have to hear her say a whole speech and I definitely don't have the energy to sit through it all.

"You're already halfway there," she laughed. I gave her another questioning look and she gave my shoulder a pat, "You'll find out soon."

Sighing, I watched her as she grab her purse that was on the coffee table and took out her keys, "I should go back home, I made some dinner for you guys, I left it in the kitchen."

I opened my mouth to tell her that we already ate, but that ended up with a blush creeping into my face as I recalled what Axel and I were doing before my dad arrived.

Oh gosh.

As we exited the living room, it was the perfect time for the two boys along with my father to go down the stairs, as Adam was in the process of giving him a mini house tour.

We all stopped when we saw each other and I was preparing myself for the worst. My mother saw this and she exhaled loudly, "Goodnight everybody."

When she exited the house, I felt like collapsing on the floor and praising whoever was up there that I managed to survive everything.

"I should leave too," Axel coughed out awkwardly, swiftly going down the remaining steps of the stairs.

Giving him a small wave, he smiled, "I'll call you when I get home."

Nodding, he moved down to give me a goodnight kiss, but before he was even close, Adam coughed loudly, "We're still here."

Groaning under his breath, he pecked my cheek, before leaving quickly.

"You have magical cockblocking skills," I joked with Adam.

"You two shouldn't be openly displaying those stints," he chuckled, before gesturing for us to all call it a night.

"Our first stop is London where we'll open the tour," the man said to everybody gathered around the table

I stifled a yawn as I tried to concentrate on what he was saying. I couldn't actually sleep last night, because the day kept replaying in my mind and a certain boy didn't want to say goodnight over the phone when it was clearly two in the morning already.

I felt Taylor pinch the back of my hand under the table and yelped rather loudly. All eyes turned to me and my eyes widened. Well, I was awake now.

"Just hit my knee on the table," I excused, waving their wondering looks away.

When I turned to my manager, I gulped audibly when I saw the dirty look she was shooting me, "Concentrate."

"Sorry," I apologized softly, looking back at the projector.

I tried to, I really did, but I just watched the man as he continued on saying a bunch of boring words and strategies about marketing. Tapping my finger impatiently on the table, I listened to how he drawled out those words.

"And for the North American leg of the tour, I thought that we could sign up with our sister company," he continued on, "We decided to do a double tour with another artist."

Oh great, I have to suffer with another stuck up celebrity.

When's lunch?

Leaning against the chair, I tried to test out how low it could before stopping. I just needed something to occupy my mind.

"For North America, Axel Brooks and his team would be joining Heart," he announced.

Say what?!

My chair fell back along with me, but I didn't care about the pain I was feeling right now, I was more concerned about the sudden news.

"Heart!" all of them rushed to my side in order to help me. As they heaved me up, I gaped at the man with wide eyes as I stared at the logo of Axel's label company being flashed brightly on the screen.

"I'm sure Axel would be surprise as well when he hears the news," Taylor muttered, pushing me back down on the chair that they pulled upright once again.

Are they aware that they just gave me the most surprising news of the week? This even topped the ordeal last night.

"I guess that's a good time for a lunch break," mister said, placing his stupid laser pointer back on the table, "Everybody be back in forty minutes."

Taking my phone out, I started to look for Axel's name, but before I even had the chance to unlock it, Taylor quickly snatched it from my hands, "He's not even aware that this happening, let his label tell him first before you say it."

But I couldn't help it, I was already mentally preparing myself of the fact that I've been going to be separated from my boyfriend for about a year, and now they're telling me I can spend a good couple months of work with him.

There's no way am I just going to sit back and relax.

"Let's get us some food to calm you down," she sighed, handing the device back to me before she pulled me with her to exit the room.

There were a few restaurants located at the ground floor of the building and as the both of us sat there on the table with our food steaming right in front of us, I couldn't help but feel a tad awkward.

Or maybe because I was so engrossed at my laptop screen to talk.

"What are you looking at?" she asked as I peeked above the screen.

"Apartments," I mumbled in reply, sipping from my mug, "I need a place to live in England you know."

"You know any good real estate companies?" she inquired casually and I nodded as I stared at the various pictures of apartments laid across the website of the same company I was going to suggest to her if she asks.

Looking up at her, I tilted my head to the side in question, "Are you going to move?"

"Maybe in the near future," she winked as she lifted her left hand to reveal the silver band resting on her ring finger.

I coughed loudly as I chocked on the coffee I was drinking, grabbing a napkin to quickly cover my mouth, but my eyes were still wide as saucers.

Stop it with the surprises, I'm going to die if these keeps up!

"Marcus proposed!" I squealed and she gave me a reprimanding look when I realized that I said it too loudly.

Giving her a sheepish smile, I slowly leaned forward, "You're getting married."

"Yeah," she grinned, "And I want you to become one of my bridesmaids."

"Yes!" I practically screamed as I was unable to keep my enthusiasm at bay.

Thank God that camping trip wasn't a complete waste of my time.

"But," she lifted a hand to stop me from doing anything stupid again, "Don't meddle with my wedding."

From her tone, I knew she was referring to the fact that I completely abolished my father engagement. Laughing, I nodded, "I actually want Marcus to be with you."

Maybe life could be turning to be brighter than expect.

Glancing back at the screen, I was then reminded that I only had a few days before our lovely visitors come back to England.
