Nico Yazawa's POV

I ran after Maki-chan and found her sitting on a swing. I slowly approached her. "Maki-chan.." I called.

Maki-chan lifted her head and faced me. Our eyes met but she looked away quickly. I sighed. "I'm sorry, Nico-chan. I ruined our plan." Maki-chan said. I saw tears forming in her eyes.

I put a hand on Maki-chan's cheek. "Look, you didn't ruin it. We were too obvious from the start. And Nozomi probably noticed it." I said.

"But-" I put a finger on Maki-chan's lips. "It's not your fault, Maki-chan. And don't you dare cry. Like I said before, crying doesn't suit you. Smiling does. Remember?" I said, giving Maki-chan the brightest smile I could make.

In response, Maki-chan smiled back. "There. That's better, isn't it? Now, shall we go back to practice?" I said, offering my hand to her. Maki-chan looked so cute when she's hesitating to do something. It seems like she's too embarrased to show her face to the other girls.

"Oh come on, Maki-chan. I'll protect you if they tease you." I said, hoping that Maki-chan will go back to practice with me.

"Idiot! How will you protect me then?" Maki-chan snapped. I took a step back. I facepalmed. Nico, you're such an idiot! Have you thought of a way to protect Maki-chan?

"What's the problem, Nico-chan? Can't think of a way to protect me?" Maki-chan said. I can sense the sarcasm in her voice.

I did my usual pose. "Nico Nico Nii~! Of course I have a plan! I'm super idol Nico Yazawa!" I said, proudly.

"I knew you would say that." Maki-chan sighed. Then Maki-chan stood up and grabbed my hand. "Come on. Let's go back to practice. Just make sure you have a plan, okay?" Maki-chan said, blushing.

I smiled at the sight of Maki-chan blushing. I just let Maki-chan lead the way while I followed along. What's the reason I have fallen for you, Maki Nishikino? Is it because of your amethyst eyes? No. That's not it. I still don't know the reason...

I didn't notice that Maki-chan stopped from walking. "Nico-chan, is there something wrong?" Maki-chan questioned me. I shook my head. "I was just thinking of something." I replied.

We resumed walking after I said those words. I sighed. I guess I have no choice but to say this to Maki-chan. I stopped walking and pulled Maki-chan close to me. "Nico-chan?" Maki-chan seemed confused when I suddenly hugged her.

"I'll only say this once so listen carefully, Maki-chan. Nico Yazawa is in love with Maki Nishikino. I would never leave your side, Maki-chan. That's a promise." I whispered into her ear.

Maki-chan smiled at me when I released her. "I would do the same, Nico-chan." She said. I grinned.

I really wouldn't leave you, Maki-chan. It's because I love you so much. I love you more than my own life.
