Author's note: Apologies for the delay. Had some personal things going on so I would type when I had time.

Priyanka smiled as her big brother ran back and forth trying to make quick arrangements without his new wife knowing.

She frowned though thinking about his explanation. What if she was wrong? What if her brother had lost the ability to love?

Flashback to a 30 mins ago

Shivaay had come running into her room as she sat at her dressing table getting ready to go to the temple.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

She looked at him puzzled. He rarely asked her this before. She signed that she was going to the temple.

He nodded, seemingly distracted. "Could you go to our family temple?"

Priyanka's eyes went wide. Did he expect her to drive 4 hours when there was a temple nearby?

"Anika's sister is getting married there. So I thought I can take her there."

Priyanka had a small grin but it was extinguished seconds later. "I need her to trust me and give me an heir before she realises that I am Shivaay. I really don't have time to be a butler. My companies need me back."

Flashback ends

She felt like he was falling in love but was all this just a facade to trap her Bhabhi.

She opened her drawer and sneaked a look at an old diary that she had found. She would not let another woman's life be destroyed by the Oberoi men.

--------
Rudra watched as Om fidgeted with his watch.

"O, you will be fine. You are marrying Mallu. You know her for years. Then why do you look like you are dying." He commented.

Om winced. "I wish Ma was here. You know sometimes I think she wanted to tell me something important the day she called me. Mallika thinks that it was probably to tell about her engagement to Shivaay. But I feel like it was something else. Like Ma seemed spooked."

Rudra shook his head. "She did not say anything to me. I left for soccer practice much after that Shivaay's grandfather had come to the house. Don't worry."

Rudra got up and walked out of the room leaving his brother as he was pulled back to the day of his mother's heart attack. Something had definitely frightened her. He just did not know what. However, he knew somehow it was linked to the locker key he had found in his mother's possessions after her passing.

He had contacted his friend, who had helped him find the locker. He would be going to check it after the wedding.

-------------
Mallika stared at the sky as she watched a chopper go by. She wished her little sister was by her side as she got married to the love of her life.

"Ma, I am marrying your son today, I wish you and Momma were here. You would have been so happy. You always decked me up and said that you could not wait for the day, you got to dress me as a bride. But today I am all alone."

"Alone?" A voice called from the door. Mallika's eyes went wide when she recognised the voice. She turned around to see Anika and a man and 2 women standing at the door with a grinning Rudra.

"Chutki! You came!" She ran over and threw herself into Anika's arms forcing Anika took take a couple of steps back.

Anika grinned and hugged her. Mallika could feel her tears rolling onto her own shoulder. Mallika pulled back and gave her gentle smack. "This time I won't drink anything you give me. Already one time, my wedding was a disaster."

Anika looked down at the floor like how she would after she created their problem when they were younger. She glanced at her shoulder that still bore the proof of their mistakes.

Mallika glanced behind her to see the others that came with her sister. The woman dressed in branded clothes waved at her.

"Prinku, Saumya, you?" Mallika squeaked. She had met Priyanka and Saumya at the photoshoot for the wedding that Shivaay did not turn up for. They had come so that Priyanka and she could take photos as the women in the Oberoi family. Apparently it was tradition.

Mallika blushed and looked away remembering that she had in theory ditched Priyanka's big brother at the alter.

Priyanka giggled and then looked at Saumya, who chuckled. "Mallika, why are you blushing? I mean, Prinku and I were not for Bhaiya marrying you. We are pro-love remember."
The man standing next to them bristled like he had been scorched. Anika smiled.

"See Di. They are amazing no. I mean I did not even marry her brother and she considers me part of the family." At this surprisingly, the other three looked uncomfortable. They were hiding something.

Anika then pulled the guy forward. "Di! This is Shiv. My husband and the Oberoi family's head of staff."

Shiv looked at Mallika but his eyes seemed to be struggling to meet hers. Mallika scrutinised him but was soon distracted by her sister's talks and antics. The three guests followed Rudra to give the sisters some space.

"You know Di. I think Priyanka likes Shiv. She is always looking at him and I have seen her staring at me as well." Anika whispered.
Mallika glanced at her sister and knew she was very distressed about it.

"Arre Anu. I did not feel so. She is very sweet. I met her when we had the photo shoot that Shivaay did not turn up."

Anika nodded absently before she jumped onto give her sister the gossip.

------------
"So you are Shiv! My Anu's husband." The man who was with them asked Shiv.

Shivaay looked at him. He did not like the way the man called her 'his'.

"And you are?" He questioned.

The man grinned. "I am Rudra but you can call me Rudi. I am Anu's best and only friend. So you better not cross me then Anu will really take your class."

Shivaay bristled. But before he could say anything, Rudra switched his attention to Priyanka and Saumya. "You must be Prinku and you are?"

Priyanka smiled at how easily Rudra had called her by her nickname instead of being all reverential as she came from a rich family.

"I am Saumya. Priyanka's bodyguard and best friend."

Rudra nodded. "Okay so you must be driving right?" Saumya nodded.

"Okay Sumo. You can take O's car to the temple and I will bring the rest." Rudra threw the keys at Saumya.

Saumya caught the keys. "It is Saumya."

Rudra chuckled. "I have put the location in the GPS. You can go. Just message Anu if you need anything."

Shivaay bristled. "Anika can join us."

Rudra shook his head. "It's okay. We can bring her and Bhabhi will want her to be with us. I mean even I need sometime with my partner in crime."

Rudra sauntered away as Shivaay bore holes into his back.

---------
Anika watched as her sister completed her marraige functions with her brother-in-law. She looked like her entire world was in Om Jiju. Would Anika ever look at Shiv like that?

She glanced at Shiv, who winked at her and slowly made his way to her side.

"What happened? You are not happy to be here?" He nudged her.

Anika shook her head. "I was just thinking how in love Di and Jiju looks and whether we will have that?"

Shiv went silent and watched the couple getting married. "Anika, love is......"

"Anu! Come here." Rudra called her pointing at Om's shoes.

She smiled and moved away without listening to the rest of Shivaay's words.

---------

"Anika, love is.....just an illusion." Her Shivaay bhaiya said.

Her heart clenched. Her best friend was hoping that her brother was falling in love with her sister-in-law. But here Anika Bhabhi was looking for love with a person that felt that it was just an illusion.

Were they making a mistake by not telling Anika the truth? Will this mistake haunt them later?

"Sumo!" A voice hissed next to her. Saumya rolled her eyes to see the annoying younger brother of Anika's Jiju.

"It is Saumya." She bit out. Rudra grinned.

"Okay Sumo. I am going somewhere if Bhai asks where I went, tell him I went to get some stuff for the house."

Saumya looked at him suspicious. "Where are you going?"

Rudra shook his head. "Nowhere." Then he slipped away.

-------
"Rudi!. This is the locker." Manan, Rudra's friend showed him the locker he had found the key for.

He placed the key in hole and unlocked it. Only to see 2 jewellery boxes and a photo.

Rudra opened the boxes to see two very beautiful and ancient looking necklace sets with matching earrings.

"Man! That looks priceless. Like a family heirloom." Manan gasped. Rudra nodded. Then he flipped the photo to see a picture of 4 children. 3 boys and a little girl. The baby looked to be about an year old. Rudra recognised himself and Om but who were the other two. Why were they all dressed like some prissy royal children? What was their mother hiding?

He took his phone out to call their manager, so that she could take the pieces to their Singapore branch to get appraised.

Where did the pieces come? Who are the kids? Was Jhanvi Kapoor hiding some painful secrets?
