october - Helen Hunt Jackson (1886)

The month of carnival of all the year,
When Nature lets the wild earth go its way
And spend whole seasons on a single day.
The spring-time holds her white and purple dear;
October, lavish, flaunts them far and near;
The summer charily her reds doth lay
Like jewels on her costliest array;
October, scornful, burns them on a bier.
The winter hoards his pearls of frost in sign
Of kingdom: whiter pearls than winter knew,
Or Empress wore, in Egypt's ancient line,
October, feasting 'neath her dome of blue,
Drinks at a single draught, slow filtered through
Sunshiny air, as in a tingling wine!

dang..... this has gone by fast...

i-

dunno. i guess i still can't believe that it's autumn already and that there are only two months after this one, before the next year starts.

and since that means, that the time in this artbook is slowly running low as well, i just wanted to give y'all an extra thanks and an extra hug.

to be honest, 2021 has been the first time, where i really managed to track my whole art journey throughout the whole year. yeah, chapters were often written at a bunch at a time, and sometimes i wrote stuff about something i drew half a year ago, but still.... every picture got a chapter, and that's something i'm proud of.

you know... recently i went back to my 2019 artbook. i remember how proud i was of that thing, and the art inside. man, according to my present judgement, it's a huge mess and the art isn't even that good. and 2020... man i still have chapters that aren't finished chilling in there...

but 2021 has been holding strong so far and i want to thank you for motivating me to keep posting here.

>>gives everyone an extra blanket and some hot chocolate, before cuddling everyone<<

so i guess we'll see each other in the october chapters then...
